I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I am 74 years old. I grew up with the Ventures so to speak. You two are fabulous.
Right on!
That Creston has a nice crisp sound.
I’m in my mid 70’s. Never in my wildest dreams did I suspect the music we did in the early 60’s would manage to survive for decades, only to be performed by talented young ladies . . . who are younger than my own grandchildren.
Back then we were kids who enjoyed just the thrill of being on stage and performing for like-minded teenagers.
Now, seeing ‘The Surfrajettes’ in 2021? Unbelievable is all I can say!
Good Job!!
I just started learning these songs here in EU. They are so lovely, just gotta do it.♡♡♡
Thank you so much for being a part of The Ventures' "future history" -- it's musicians like you who keep the tunes alive and growing. You're the best, and we are proud to have you in the documentary.
Wow Girls, Bona Fides right there! Congratulations! You deserve it.
🎸🤘🏽
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Ventures... especially the album "In Space" has been one of the strongest influences in my written music. Thank you for the music....
You two are awesome. Love your guitar playing and selection of music. It is what I grew up on. Brings back great memories.
Just when I think the darkness is its deepest, I see wonderful ladies dedicating themselves to something I took for granted in my youth, keeping alive the sounds of surfin' in to the 21st Century! Kowabunga!
I think it’s Sooooo Awesome that you’re keeping the surf guitar sound alive... I’m not from the Ventures generation either... I’m probably somewhere between them and you... but I LOVE that sound/music! I’m a big fan of Dick Dale as well. Keep it up.... LOVE what you’re doing...❤️❤️❤️❤️
beautiful ladies and some fine guitar playin!
I like the sip during the break in the middle of the song. Cool you made it into the movie.
Woa can't wait to see the documentary I love The Ventures thanks for bringing it to my attention and congratulations for being in it you girls deserve it you're very talented musicians
You girls are awesome! I should know. I’ve been a musician for 54 years and have followed the Ventures for that long. Saw them live twice. You girls make me proud. You are keeping their wonderful sound alive. You proves to me that there is hope for the future after all! Never stop!
Gorgeous girls with cool guitars playing awesome stuff. What could be better? Seriously, you guys are greatly. Thanks for keeping it alive.
2023 thank you God bless good luck
DANG! The perfect blend of the '60 and '64 versions! You actually moved me to tears. Love you guys.
Walk Don't Run was a song in my guitar class that was in our lesson book that we would eventually learn. Needles to say I taught it to myself because I love surf music and I just had to learn it!!!!!! It remains one of my favorites!! Plus when you're in Guitar Center and everybody else is playing the forbidden riff or Free Bird and you whip out Walk Don't Run, you definitely feel like the coolest person in the room LOL! Thank you ladies!!
Good needling to you too!
Spring reverb sounds amazing with the ventures. Now I want a creston guitar super fancy.
Summer 1963 - my first (in person) introduction to electric guitar. The neighbors next door had hired a band for their party, and they were playing Ventures songs all night. Needless to say, I was buying Ventures albums as soon as I could save up the money. I know you hear it all the time, but it's so cool you guys are keeping the flame.
Wow, just wow. Wouldn't change a thing.
The tone on your new custom guitar is fantastic!
loving those guitars stellar toan surf is still alive and well
Great idea to drop the glis from '64 in! I've always dreamed of forming an instrumental surf band, and calling them "The Dentures" (I'm 74). In my band days, '60s - '70s, we always opened with "Walk--Don't Run". It's a timeless fave.
That’s pretty funny, I like that name “The Dentures” sponsored by Polident.👍👍
😊
Lol. The Dentures. Love it. I'm with ya bro.
Very talented and great song too.
"Walk Don't Run" was one of the first songs I learnt to play too (in 1968), and still one of my favorites. But you play with such a light touch. That's why I never get tired of listening to your music.
That subtle smile on Nicole's face when she goes for the water bottle... !
How cool that The Surferjettes made it into the Ventures movie!
Well, they put up the Venture Capital, sooo...
'SURFRAJETTES.'
@@emilyadams3228 proving that dad jokes are no longer just the domain of dads. Excellent work.
This must be what Heaven is going to be like
is there beer in heaven??
Let's hope so
@@pennywiseRJ It'd be hell if there wasn't!
This cover is seriously beautiful 😭 I'm happy for you all, may 2021 bring a lot of awesomeness to you, my fave surf band 💜
Thank you so much! I love this style and era of music! It's either listening to this or Van Halen in the car when I want to go driving in one of my rides. And speaking of rides, I have a great idea for your group to do after this pandemic stops and we get back to a sense of normalcy. I'm sure if you reach out to your local Street Rod community, I'm sure they would happily oblige. Have a small circular platform stage be made for your band to perform on and have it surrounded by old and new Street Rods, Rat Rods, and everything in between. Have the cars shining their headlights around the stage. Make a video of it. If it's a success, go on tour with the circular stage and in every town, invite local street rodders to display their cars. You'll not only bring the street rod culture with you, but also new fans that are not as familiar with this style as well. If this band hasn't been the talk of every town, it will be!
You are brilliant! Your talent matches your exceptional charm & charisma.
I think you guyz are great and capture the spirit of the music-I was there as a little kid but heard it all-next: Pipeline>
Congrats! My favorite musicians, The Ventures. I have 88 of their albums (not all). They taught me how to play. My favorites are the 'Latin Album' and 'Beethoven', oh and '1965' and 'The Ventures Play the Blues', oh and ..... Thanks for this great cover and we love you guys!
WOW. OLD SCHOOL WITH A BEAUTIFUL FACE (S) . Keep up the work. People will listen to you.
Great performance beautiful ladies! 👍❤️😍😘
Such a Vibe ...
It's nice to see the younger crowd enjoy The Ventures. Good job.
I know the version by The John Barry Seven (also recorded 1960), and one by The Shadows in 1977, but I was surprised to hear the song was first released in '54.
I first listened to The Ventures when I was 5 years old back in 1971 in my hometown of Mexico City, the only record we had in the house was "Knock Me Out" I would get in our TV room where we have the record player and stayed there for hours at the time playing the same record over and over and over with a broomstick and a cord tied on each end playing air guitar. Later somebody brought Santana music home and the same thing. It was not until probably a few years back thanks to Spotify that I was able to listen to the original music from the LP again. Thank you for keeping the music alive!!!
I think you should do a video, talking about how you all got started as Surfrajettes, every member of the band past and present, we love feeling connected to knowing you more personally and history of the band members would be fun.
You mean in an hour and a half documentary. The great and the good could come on and say how good you are and it could be called Stars on Guitar: The Surfrajettes.
@@chrisst8922 love the concept!!! I worked in Hollywood for years, I could film and edit the whole thing. Do you have access to the band?
@@rodneyhenson I have access to the band through their social media and records. One day I'm gonna get to see them.
@@chrisst8922 I live in San Diego!! So much Surf here! I can get them booked into BellyUp in Solana!
@@rodneyhenson That's good, if only we didn't have the virus.
Walk Don’t Run was one of the first songs I learned to play also when I took lessons in the late 60s. Forty years later I picked up the guitar again and I STILL could play it from memory!
WOW GREAT COVER. THANKS
FANTASTIC! Any chance of getting a rig run down from the both of you? Thanks.
Hope you visit that restaurant/shop that sells all those great pastries in your town!
Always a red letter day when there's a new Surfrajettes post.
There was a time when this song was called Walk Don't Run With Scissors!! instagram.com/p/BVcwsvgAouo/
How awesome is this. Brilliant job, girls
I am glad that these young ladies are keeping this genre of music going.
You and me both buddy !!🙂 (I'm impressed by their talent).
Very good play. Thank you!!!
I love the Ventures...grew up playing drums to their records in the early to mid 60's. Played them live many times. I must say that you guys have the greatest tone for the music you do...awesome job.
I seen the Ventures in Jr High...they kicked butt.
Been a Ventures fan since the 60's and really loved hearing these gals! Hope to see lots more!!
Wow, very cool sound Girls ! VENTURES FOREVER ! Congrats from Brazil
"Do you have any idea how fast you were tempo-ing, ma'am?"

I love Couch Surfing. So cool you guys were featured in the VENTURES FLICK!
Love the ventures and love you girls you kick ass.
Great version, ladies....Shermy, I love how you covered the drum break before the last verse. And congrats on being in the film. You are doing a LOT to introduce this music to a new generation of fans!
You gals are really terrific, The younger kids have no clue what true music is....You are one of the most original bands I've seen in years....Very classy and you all work together for a great show.....your outfits are the cats meow....Thank You
Thank you !! FINE. Perfection😎PG Texas beach
Don is a great guy. I have a few autographed CD. It was amazing that they were still touring in Japan into their 60's.
A rejuvenation cure thank you.
Amazing cover ! The Ventures will always have a special place for all guitarists. They all grew up on trying to learn their iconic songs.
Love it
The Ventures were the reason I learned guitar. I Had 20 of their albums and now have all the songs on cd's. I love hearing your covers as well as your originals. Rock On Ladies !
Soooo good omg y’all are the best
I absolutely love your music and your style. Here's a suggestion for the video: Introduce yourselves by your first names so that newcomers know who you are. Also, are you using double stops for the lead, and do you always down pick? Thanks for making these videos. Very interesting!
@Letthat Mango that's because men are usually correct.
@Letthat Mango Men have suggestions for other men as well. Called constructive criticism.
For years in Santa Cruz I put on a show featuring the Ventures.
I enjoy your music and the happiness of you two producing it.
Damn cool music
Wow! Thanks for talking about this movie because I didn’t know it existed. I will definitely check it. I have been listening to your band and The Ventures quite a lot lately I’m hoping you put out a full length album or at least some more 45’s. I have a RUclips channel and recently plugged your single. Really digging your band👍
A masterful version. Your guitars sound great. Watching you become famous is a lot of fun, lol
Your music is great and so is your performance! Even on the couch! Of course you should be in the Ventures Movie! Awesome!
Talk a"boot".
God Bless you sweet Canadian girls...
Great job on Walk Don't Run! I loved it! It was actually the first song I ever learned on guitar back in 60's! My Dad had the 45 and we used to play it all the time. Thank you for bringing that time back for me!
More Ventures hits by the Surfrajettes, please.
Great stuff, ladies!! I am looking forward to seeing the band at a show someday, and hopefully soon.
Thanks. Loved the Ventures as a Kid (60 years ago) I wore out my Ventures Vinyl albums.
When I was 4 years old, my older brother would play the 45 record of this song at 78rpm and I would laugh myself silly!
I just set this video to 2x speed... I began laughing uncontrollably.
All you have to do is change the playback speed of this video to X 1.75 speed and you can reminisce about childhood joy.
Congrats on being featured in the Ventures movie!!
You girls rock. I love how you are keeping this style of music thriving!!!! Keep it up! Keep inspiring the next gen surf rockers
Your name is the same size as John Fogarty and Don Wilson. I don't know if you have an agent who got that for you, but that is GOLD!! **Equal billing** Congratulations.
The tones are sweet and so are these ladies--keep it going Surfrajettes!
You girls are awesome!
Good job. I have the original Walk Don't Run album. I played in a rock band in the mid 60s. When we played walk don't run you couldn't tell it from the Ventures. I had a 1959 Stratocaster. He had a Jaguar. Our lead player was that good. RIP Wesley.
God bless you sir. I hope you are still around and still playing your Strat.
God bless you sir. May your friend RIP. I hope you are still around and still playing your Strat.
That was an EXCELLENT cover. Well done ladies.
Great job! The Ventures never played it better. I’m from Tacoma, the same town at the Ventures, and I started playing guitar in the 60’s inspired by them then the Beatles. Love your interpretations! Beautiful guitars too...
Walk don’t run never gets old
43 years old and grew up on this Music! Thank you for keeping it Alive and Well! Great Job!!
Stay safe and keep healthy, we need more of your fabulous surfing groove. Thank you!
Wow! You seem so different than others in the music scene of today. So talented, sweet, beautiful, articulate gals! Great rendition! Keep it up!
Nice! Personally, I always liked the '64 version a lot better, but it's good hearing the original again!
Since you both can play the lead and rhythm, so who decides on who leads and rhythms on any particular song? Asking for a friend 😏
Fast Forward to 1:36 to skip all the talking
I really enjoyed the Ventures when I was young and I still enjoy them now. That's probably partly why I always enjoy seeing your videos! Keep it up! and props for being recognised in the Ventures doco.
Cool! I just got my Jazzmaster back from super cool guy I sold to couple years ago. Going through good time surf tune thing to help me through these tough times. Ugh! TY Surfrajettes!
You guys Rock! Big News being in the Ventures movie, that should make for great exposure.
A Girl Surf Band is the one thing that was missing from the original Surf Scene.
Wring! The original scene had females.
I picked up guitar again 2 years back and am learning Walk Don't Run '64 (my preferred version). If you haven't heard that version... DO! :) BTW, I was 5 when that version released... Yeah... Old Fart here. Great rendition, Ladies! Thanks for the heads up on the documentary! :)-(:
