i really did not expect to like this enemy and saw it as like, a gimmicky seasonal thing
but god the sound design on the nutcracker is genuinely so disturbing, this track + its footsteps, gunshots and reloading make me panic. it's such a good addition to the game i hope it's a mainstay and not just a christmas thing
Oh it's definitely a mainstay since Zeekerss mentioned on Twitter that it was supposed to be included at launch, but he couldn't finished it in time.

That whistle kind of noise being out of sync with the drums makes it so much more unnerving and adds to the feeling that you’re not being chased by a trained soldier, you’re being chased by a strange, one-eyed alien being _pretending_ to be a soldier.
And one that thought christmas decor would play the part
You're being chased by alien home security, literally.
Nutcracker has grown to be probably my favorite monster.
It has a clear mechanic, great sound design, its dangerous but manageable, and it rewards you for going out of your way to kill it.
its also just a really funny enemy. what if the monster had a WHOLE GUN

If you hold completely still (this includes camera movement) the nutcracker cannot see you. But if it already has seen you and this music it’s playing, holding still won’t save you from getting blasted.

Not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure the moment you smack it with a shovel or sign the war is on as well, even if it's not in its scanning _(i.e. when the eyeball comes out)_ mode.

glitching the nutcracker around a corner and being forced to listen to this song for a good 5 minutes before a mimic comes up behind me really sets the mood
something about the flute-like sound really triggers a fight or flight response
it honestly gives off a feeling like you've just been spotted by a soldier and they blew a whistle to alert every other soldier in the area
like a real 'now everyone knows you're here' kinda feeling
Hearing this in the background and hearing a friend scream "HOLY FUCK HELP" before it gets immediately cut off by a shotgun blast and a body flying out a door in front of me was hilarious

I'm not sure if Goofy Horror as a genre has been a thing for longer, but I'm certainly aware of it now. This is terrifying, hilarious and badass all at once

Nutcrackers are ruthless. The worst part is when they glitch out and turn invisible, so all you see is a shotgun floating towards you.
You can also grab the shotgun out of their hands sometimes, but usually the Nutcracker is just "if you see it and it sees you, game over." Because they have infinite ammo and if you're behind cover and it keeps shooting when you poke out, and the fact it one shots you. The Nutcracker is a run ender. Its seriously the most dangerous enemy in the whole game, Bracken aint got shit on Nutcracker.
The nutcracker is probably my favorite enemy in the game. Just the concept is so creative and terrifying. An uncaring soldier who marches in and will relentlessly shoot anything it sees and plays its own music as it kills you.
Waiting for this one the music is scary but a banger
Percussion may be my favorite music to listen to when I want to get pumped up for a fight. This theme is the best example.
This enemy shows how guns are dangerous, not like a monster that is going to eat you or snap your neck, you just hear its footsteps getting close until it sees you and you die after half a second with a loud gunshot noise. It's so fast it's terrifying

i love the fact that this either plays in a mansion or a facility which makes this way more scarier including the fact that after every shot the nutcracker takes the audio is muffled and this is all you hear

When I saw it for the first time in the update I thought it was just a friendly enemy for Christmas, then suddenly an eye popped out and it aimed the shotgun at me and my crew mates as we scream hysterically as the nutcracker does a collateral on two of our teammates

I really didn't think I was going to like this enemy of Lethal Company very much but is it his music? >w< I like it a lot! It's like when he sees you it's pure adrenaline + that music + kick that makes insta kill, really. Thanks Zeekerss!

my favourite thing to hear
I really wish the nutcracker was voiced. Now that may sound crazy, and it would probably take away from the game's atmosphere, having one randon entity be voiced, but just imagine hearing him say "HALT!" whenever he stops, "READY...FIRE!" In between his shots, maybe even counting his steps when he's marching like "ONE, TWO, THREE, ONE, TWO, THREE..." It would be very cool for me, but everyone else would probably hate it.

i feel like he'd sound like that old movie announcer guy, but in a slightly more serious tone and with that "recorded over a doll's speaker" voice filter on, y'know?
It fits the game gonna be real. It’s a walking, living toy.
Given that it is being puppeted around by a one eyed alien inside the nutcracker, it doesn't really make any sense for it to be speaking when all of the other alien monsters found in the game dont talk besides the Girl.
I mean you could mod it so it could do that
