  • Great day in mid March for a ride on the TransAlp. I have a few more thing completed on it and a few more to do. I have adjusted the angle of the camera on my helmet, and it seems much better now. Mount for my Insta 360 is much more stable. I have a seat cover installed, baseplate for a topbox is installed and have re-routed the battery tender SAE cable to better fit my needs. #motorbike #thefoggytrekker #adventure #motorcycle #justride #motorcyclelife #advmotorcycle #advmoto #motorcycles #motorcyclesofinstagram #motorcyclemods #motorcycletravel #motorbikerider #motorbikeadventure #motorbikemod #nsmoto #honda #hondamotorcycles #hondatransalp #transalp750 #solorider #motovlog #motovlogger #motovlogging #xl750 #lunenburg #mahonebay

    I added the SW Motech Dusc pannier system to my bike, love them so far. Even the Honda dealer thought they were better than the OEM option.

    We will have to do another coffee meet at the barn. I want to pick your brain on the 360* camera. I really like that option. Bike looks good.

    I have the rhinowalk on my transalp. My bags lasted me 1 trip to the smokey mountains. They tend to fall and the straps get into the tire. The bags ripped where the straps connect to the bag. I also lost both of my lower straps. They did fit the bike well and if i had some rear racks to hold them out, prob would've been fine as far as the lower straps go.

    I can’t speak to the other luggage systems but I just picked up the newest version of the Reckless 40 (v4.0)
    Check their RUclips channel for a video on it. The composite base with the side bags on the wide setting should have no problem sitting over the grab rails.

      @@thefoggytrekker when my build is complete I may do a video but that’s not really my thing.
      I will say that I went with the Reckless 40 and a 30L duffle to replace the 8L top bag. Brings the total back to roughness the total capacity of the Reckless 80 and gives me a smaller total width that I prefer. Cheers.

    I found the same problem with the gear shift with my BMW, but less than a year later, I got used to it, and I don't notice it now. My favourite question: I wonder where that road goes?

      Thanks for watching and the comment. I have put a few kms on since this video and still have an issue. I think there is too much play in the vertical connecting rod. It wiggles back and forth on what looks like a little ball joint. It almost seems the angle and that about of wiggle cause it to not shift well sometimes. I am wondering it others have the same issue.

    I’m thinking about buying the Transalp. How’s is the power at highway speed?

    • @thefoggytrekker
      @thefoggytrekker  3 месяца назад +1

      It loves the highway. I would say it is one of it's better points. The engine loves to rev and most of the power is higher in the rpms. No worries on the highway. Thanks for watch, and please subscribe, I will have plenty more TransAlp content coming. I will be doing a bit of a review, likes and dislike video as soon as I put a few more kms / miles on it.

    Any dissapoinments so far from the transalp?

    • @thefoggytrekker
      @thefoggytrekker  2 месяца назад +1

      There are a few things I am not fond of so far, but I need to put some more miles on it before I have a full assessment of it. The traction control is useless, the stock wind screen was not adequate for highway riding. I had been having problems shifting, but I think I have that figured out. Putting the seat on is a hassle, it is hard to get positioned perfectly. I also do not like the back grab handles, they are really wide and make it hard to fit rackless luggage. I plan to do a review of the bike in a month or two so subscribe so you don't miss it. Thanks for the comment.

      @@thodoris3790 if you are looking at this or a T7, I would think about where you ride the most. The T7 will be better off road, the TransAlp will be better on road. The T7 will handle the road fine but you will be happier with the TransAlp, the TransAlp will handle the dirt fine but you will be happier with the T7. Both are great bikes. The TransAlp fit me better and was not as top heavy. All this is my opinion and how the bikes felt for me, totally objective.

      @@thefoggytrekker thanks for the response.yes,this is the way i think.my off road riding, will be passing easy dirt roads and in total i dont think will be over 10-20% of my riding.so, i m thinking with logic,couse i like the wild look of tenere more.i did quick test rides to both,but you cant understand much in 15 minutes.i didnt go over 120(70m/h) with the transalp,but with tenere that i did,wow..man the wind noise was terrible.i defenetely must were earplugs when i go on highway,which i dont like.anyway,i ll wait your honest and total review.i search for reviews from owners,couse youtube journalist or youtube reviewers i dont trust.

      I guess what it boiled down for me was comfort and what I will use the bike for the most. I found the TransAlp more comfortable and it fit me much better (I am 5'10") I feels lighter, since it does not carry as much weight up top. I will also be on the road more than dirt, and when I am on dirt the TransAlp will exceed my skill. I believe the TransAlp has better fuel range also. You will need to fit the TransAlp with a skid plate thought, that is a must have! I do agree with you the T7's look bad ass.
