I love how these old people are so independent. Having and learning skills is never a bad idea. Naive teens like us need to know this. I would love to go visit them (if that's not creepy). Hangout. Take them to Bhutan.
    What about their children?
They are probably struggling with life too. Life is less like living and more struggle. Am I up for this in life no?
Do I love these people and how they love and care for eachother? Totally.
We need a change. Hopefully a change in the year 2p2p or now.

omg that aunty that was narrating the video always visits the Lionbefrienders centre at bendemeer and my cca goes there every week to chat with them, do crafts or play games with them. She is really nice and friendly and the elderly I have interacted with are also very friendly!! But it was really heartbreaking to hear their stories and thats why i really encourage more youths to volunteer and spend time with the elderly. I did it for about 1.5 years during my cca time each week and when I had to step down, it really was an experience i would never forget. The elderly there also couldnt bare to leave us and their words of encouragement for school really touch my heart😭

This is senior peer support. Seniors living together in the same block of rental flats can help one another, look out for one another. And when they identify someone who may need help that they cannot render, escalate. Social support and presence must still be there so that the seniors can turn to them when the need arise.

There is an elderly care centre at Bendemeer (Lionbefrienders) where they usually go there to do activites. You could volunteer to accompany them to do activites or initiate activites you want them to do! I did it for 1.5 years almost every week and it was really very fulfilling:))
