i think Roger made a career out of funnelling people to what he wanted whilst still being able to have an almost infinite number of options to finish most players. as an aging practitioner, I realised early on that pulling, one sweep, one pass and one finish is something you can build a game off, i'll never have the game or the options that people that can train 7 days a week or started 30 years earlier will have but competence in a smaller range of techniques can still deliver results
