@@PPG1967 sorry l didn't mean not necessary but there is a proper way to install them where the water flows thru and the bacteria doesn't gets stock but we do use them thank you l like your videos l am on the construction field my self.

Yes, in most jurisdictions, you must pull a permit prior to starting new work. That applies to any framing, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing.
Water Hammer Arrestor are not necessary in California do to the bacteria it collects but l guess each state is diferent

Question is this residential if so why use the ipc?
The IPC (International Plumbing Code) is applicable to Residential and Commercial projects.
