My sister used to have a fiber farm. You raise the animal, harvest the hair, wash the hair, de tangle the hair, spin it into yarn, and THEN it’s ready to make something!

I love spinning too! I just made a comment before reading this one. When I was married, my ex and I nearly purchased a few alpacas to put on his ma’s farm. When she passed, that all changed.

@@marciabenson9371 Shetlands are wonderful sheep too! I can’t imagine how to raise livestock. Even though I grew up in a rural area, it was very close to the lakeshore and was in the forest. My ex grew up on farmland without livestock. I loved helping bale hay. Later, using the tractor. I still help my ex with farming. We were together 25 years. We’re very close friends still. We just can’t live together. 😂

Dang Chad, I know I said it last time, but the pond looks absolutely fantastic! It's going to be beautiful when she fills up. The way you described what happened with Cabella and BaDonk-A-Donk from our angel summed it up perfectly. He wasn't trying to hurt her, in my opinion. I have to say that I didn't realize how huge Frank has gotten till I saw him next to June Bug😂 He's seriously so cute with how fluffy he's getting ❤

On my dad's farm, we always put a fence around the ponds. Letting livestock to get in the water, eventually encourages lots of algae and water plants and kills off aquatics. We put a float type watering thing so animals can drink without hurting the pond.

Good evening from soggy South Central Kansas! Chad at 8:35 in the video is a great screenshot of the alpaca with a piece of grass sticking out of her mouth! 😂 Anyhow, Chad we received all the rain yesterday and over night up here. It started raining Monday night late and rained until late last night. We received 5 inches in less than 12 hours and it just kept raining until early Wednesday morning. I'm not exactly sure what our total is but I was beginning to think that I would need a canoe that's for sure! We had a dry day today but are expecting the rain to start back up late tonight and over the weekend with a chance of flooding again 😞 Then our temps are suppose to go from 70's degrees to below freezing in a matter of hours. This is early for us. It's not usually freezing here until the middle of November. I have a feeling things are going to be interesting this winter. I would much rather have snow than freezing rain and ice but I have a feeling that's what we're going to get. 🥶 There's nothing you could have done differently than what you did when Cabela was charged. The animals know what their boundaries are and like you said she was trying to protect you from the donkey which is normal for your loyal dog! Thank You for taking us on your daily adventures on your farm! Much Love from our family to your family 💞

I had a similar issue as cabela. My dog likes to go thru goat pen to chicken pen and hunt rats. I wasn't paying close attention and my big female goat catches him in the side with a big punch. She only tolerates my guard dog but not my house dog. I'm glad he's bigger and pretty fast so it wasn't a hard hit but now we both keep an eye out.

Chad, I saw a video the other day that is called Zen Garden Oasis. He has a sprayer that is battery operated. He said he didn't like the sprayers that you have to pump up because you have to pump them up constantly. He uses a sprayer called Chapin Sprayer. He has the 4 gallon size to use to spray weeds with his homemade herbicide. He also said you need to clean it out real good after use. Make sure there isn't anything left in it that could gum up the pump. Said he really likes it and he got the size he has because it takes Black&Decker batteries of which he had quite a few of. Not sure you need a fly sprayer now that the cooler weather is here. Just thought I would let you know. Love watching your channel even though I'm not a farmer and I don't have a channel. Animals are all looking very nice! Much love to you and your family. Always looking forward to your next video!

The red on the pecan is a vine. I would need a close up of the leaves and stem to ID it. Just keep in mind that poison ivy has vibrant red spring growth, not 100% sure on fall growth, we get a lot of yellow because we do not get a lot of fall color. It does get vibrant red in some areas. Virginia creeper can be pretty as well. I am not familiar with native OK vines.

I was looking at some info on guard donkeys on another channel and found something interesting. They said that donkeys were sketchy around all canines as they considered them all kin to coyotes and wolves. They might go rogue on a dog the same as a coyote or wolf. Might be worse if the dog is kinda mouthy. I could understand that!! LOL Chad, I get so much grins watching your interaction with ALL the animals in your flock. I would really like to enjoy their company like you do. You have a real connection there and that is wonderful. Dr Doolittle if you will. I know that YOU know better but I'll say it any way. I would love to send some rain your way we've had almost 3 inches in less than a week here in MN. Alpaca is wonderful to wear , bit expensive but worth the splurge for a gift for a loved one. Hoping to see Oreo babies before it starts get cold out. Goatlets are soo cute and fun. 😍😍

I hope the egg production doesn’t slow down too much! Cabella better be very careful! One bite from a donkey can do a lot of damage. Your pond is looking good! ❤ God bless you all!❤

I love spinning alpaca fiber! I’m surprised you haven’t sheared yours and had the fiber processed. I know others process it into yarn, but I love spinning the fiber into yarn. I then either knit it or weave it. I keep looking at your little ones and wondering if they’re both huacaya or have any Suri in them. They’re not as floofy as many I’ve seen. Just curious.

You are absolutely right that fiber is expensive. I think Franklin is so pretty and fluffy he is gaining on his Mama. All your animals look healthy and growing fast . I didn’t realize donkeys have really good memories but no worries you have always been good to them. Tipsy she is a pretty girl I like how she gives her warnings waving her horns but she seems pretty mellow. Thank you for sharing with all of us I enjoy watching your whole family from Maine. So your cold weather will be there soon just as well as here we were actually in the 70s today and will be tomorrow also but the weather man says that will be it until next spring 7 months away. We have been lucky to have had this warmth in October that hardly ever happens. Thank you for showing all of your pets also. Cabella is a great dog for not attacking B donkey donk when he charged her. I know he felt cornered like you said. Can’t wait to see your next clip until then take care.
