  • Meet the Hyundai i10!
The original Hyundai i10 was introduced in 2008 and was a very successful model in Europe, accounting for more than a third of the continent’s city car sales in the six years it was available.
The latest third-generation model arrived in 2020 bringing with it sharper styling, a roomier interior and more advanced technology than before, alongside a range of small capacity powertrains effectively blending performance with running costs.
So which version of the i10 is best for your needs? Should you consider the sportier i20 N variant? And how does it compare to other city cars on the market like the Suzuki Ignis, Toyota Aygo X and gorgeous Kia Picanto?
    Let’s find out...

Buyers beware - I bought a new i10 in October 2023 but am having issues with the speed limit warning. The camera technology used in the i10 does not seem to recognise the national speed limit sign when joining a dual carriage way (or Motorway) from an A road (30mph limit). The speed limit warning sounds repeatedly as you accelerate to the national speed limit which is extremely distracting. I also have issues driving in town. Our local supermarket carpark has a 10mph sign at its entrance but no sign at its exit. Consequently the car thinks the speed limit is 10mph after leaving the carpark. I have to drive 2.5 miles (in a 30mph zone) with the speed limit warning sounding whenever I exceed 10mph until I reach the 40mph sign outside town. The warning sound can only be temporarily switched off by going through multiple screens in the settings menu but it automatically switches back on when you restart the engine. The technology is unreliable and the audible warning extremely annoying and distracting. I also dislike the fact the car issues an audible electronic warning whenever there is a change in the speed limit (e.g. from 30mph to 40mph etc) or whenever the car in front moves forward (even 1 foot) if your car is stationary (e.g. in a traffic jam or at a junction). The other day I counted over 50 audible warnings within a 3 mile journey - all completely unnecessary. It makes driving the latest i10 an unpleasant /annoying experience.

Sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with the speed limit warning system. We recommend reaching out to your local Hyundai dealership or service center to discuss these issues in detail. They may be able to provide assistance, updates, or potential solutions to improve your driving experience.
Additionally, it's valuable for the manufacturer to be aware of real-world user experiences to enhance future models. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us and others understand potential concerns with the technology 👍

Overall a very good review of the i10, I’ve got an SE Connect 1.0litre and it suits my needs perfectly, whether around town or on longer motorway trips. This is my 5th i10 since 2008, I love them.

No front or rear parking sensors and the steering wheel is so cheap by todays standards I think the new Corsa will attract more attention for the money not that I'm saying its overall a better car but it feels like a lot more car for your money.

    • @michaelkeen5010
      @michaelkeen5010 Год назад +3

But the Corsa is from the class above, being a supermini, and the cheapest Corsa is around £3k more than the SE Connect i10. Plus, you don’t really need front parking sensors as the front is so short, and there is a reversing camera so that rear sensors are not required either.

There was a guy named Mark who had always felt cramped in his car. He was taller than average, and no matter how he adjusted the seat, he could never get comfortable. One day, he had an idea. What if he bought two Hyundai's I10 and stacked them on top of each other? That way, he would have more heatroom and be able to drive without feeling cramped.
Mark spent weeks searching for the perfect kars. He finally found two Hyundai's I10 that were the same make and model, and he bought them both. With the help of some friends, he managed to stack one on top of the other, creating a Frankenstein-like vehicle.
At first, Mark was thrilled. He had never had so much headroom in a car before. He could stretch his legs and sit up straight without hitting his head on the roof. But as he drove around town, he began to notice something strange.
People on the street would stare at him, pointing and laughing. He couldn't figure out what was so funny until he looked in the rearview mirror. The two cars stacked on top of each other looked ridiculous. It was as if he was driving a clown car.
Mark tried to ignore the stares and jokes, but it was impossible. Everywhere he went, people would point and laugh. He began to feel like a freak, like he didn't belong in society. He started to avoid going out in public, afraid of the ridicule he would face.
One night, as he was driving home, he heard a strange noise coming from the car. It was a low, guttural growl that seemed to be coming from somewhere deep inside the vehicle. Mark tried to ignore it, but the noise grew louder and more intense.
Suddenly, the car began to shake violently, and Mark realized he had made a terrible mistake. The two cars were not meant to be stacked on top of each other. They were fighting against each other, trying to tear themselves apart.
In a moment of panic, Mark slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. The two Hyundai's I10 began to shake even harder, and then, with a loud explosion, they separated from each other and crashed to the ground.
Mark watched in horror as the wreckage burned, realizing too late that he had made a terrible mistake. He had tried to create something new and unique, but instead, he had created a monster. From that day on, he never drove again, haunted by the memory of his failed experiment.
