you're definitely right about the problem with the reverse. it sometimes hard to get it into reverse gear. you had to put it into another gear and then put it can go into reverse.
Bought my first i10 1.2 in 2010 and ran it for 10 years. Never any problems, sailed through every MOT perfectly. Bought a new i10 1.2 in 2020 and it's the same story. No problems, a pleasure to drive, easy to park, good fuel economy.

1. Juddering at start is happening on mine. I just press the accelerator peddle a bit more 2. The rattle due to the back seats caused me to go insane, until I found out what the noise was 3. When I park my car in the garage, I leave it in-gear and put the handbrake down, so the brakes don’t stick if I drive it for a few days 4. Not sure if I am imagining it, but when I have my headlights on, when I turn a corner, the headlights go brighter 5. I do have problems sticking mine into reverse. Just need to press/depress the clutch a few times 6. Road noise. I just either turn on the fan or turn the radio volume up to drown out the noise 7. Would love to have a 6th gear on motorways 8. I don’t understand why on the newer i10 models, there is no string on the parcel shelf
@marksmall8692 You didn't gloss over it, it's not mentioned in the book I thought I was going mad until I researched it and the premium se model also has heated mirrors but no mention of it. My reverse gear also plays up but I don't find it annoying considering my car has only got 3,400 on the clock I just wanted to know has the reverse gear caused you any further problems ?
I have all the same problems you have except my backseat doesnt make noise, just just completely loose but stays in place. How did you resolve the issue? In case the rattling might come. If this car had a 6th gear it be damn awesome. Shame.
I am from India & have been driving i10 petrol Asta since 2017. it's a wonderful car. Haven't spent a penny on anything other than routine servicing, tyres & battery.
I've had my i10 since 2018 and it's a '17 model. Love this car! 1.0 3cyl a fun car absolutely no extras, manual windows and no remore to lock or unlock doors. Has been a great car for 6 years. I have that problem with the reverse gear. Overall I love this car
I’ve had my 2010 i10 from new. I agree with all the positives from this review and I recognise some of the negatives too. On older examples I recommend you watch out for rotten brake pipes, and leaky water pump and heater core. Defo a fun wee car though.
I "inherited" my mums one when she got too old to safely drive (2014 Mk2)...I'd never liked the gearbox on it and it finally got to the point you couldn't change gear on it. Local garage had a bodge attempt at steeping the selector assembly it in a bucket of anti-seize/penetrating oil which worked for 3 weeks (still the gearshift never self centred), and I knew the gearshift and cables were ok so I bought a new selector assembly from Hyundai Dundee ("We've sold loads of these" the guy on the phone told me) and fitted it myself but this is a VERY common issue....The difference was unbelievable....Hyundai Forums has a post on it telling you how to do it and if you can do your own brakes and discs you will be able to do this....talking of brakes, the rear calipers are of the "E-brake" variety and I've got 2 new ones turning up today as the ratcheted handbrake is playing up- brakes been binding and the handbrake not holding. I replaced the discs and pads but winding the piston back in on the OSR was a PIG to do so kinda knew this was inevitable...but a good wee car, reliable, economical and takes roof bars too which is a bonus.....
We have had a 2008 i10 with the 1.1 in the family since brand new and while it's EXTREMELY slow and a nightmare to drive on highways due to zero sound-deadening it's never missed a beat. Serviced only at bare minimum and has been dead reliable and probably the cheapest car you can possibly own. Tax in Sweden is 25€, consumes around 5l/100km and parts are dirt cheap. 150000km and the only things that have been done are brakes, cam belt service, a rusted out oil pan and drive belts.
I have an 11 plate i10. These wear clutches quickly and the clutch pedal can collapse as the metal is quite thin. This causes the clutch cable to move around causing gear change issues crunching etc. Just had pedal replaced as well as a new clutch cost £1100. 3rd clutch at 66k miles due to the pedal being the culprit check the pedal for lateral movement. I should also say its been a great little car.
Same here, clutches on last 3 i10 models, I don't ride the clutch either. That pedal box is a disaster, terrible design. Also, timing chains go on these. God little car but the clutch and timing chain are expensive jobs that are not worth doing after 60K miles.
I have a 19 plate i10 for my kids to drive. I had a short circuit in a coil pack that tripped the fuse and left me stuck at the side of the road. I agree with you though, it's fun to drive.
Buyers of NEW cars be very careful - The software installed in the latest version of Hyundai i10 to implement Intelligent Speed Limit Assist is unable to recognise the UK national speed limit sign. This means drivers of the new i10 get repeated audible speed limit warnings (very annoying and distracting) when they drive on a road where the national speed limit applies (Motorway, dual carriageway or single carriageway) as the car does not recognise the national speed limit sign and will assume the previous speed limit sign still applies (e.g. 30 / 40 or 50 mph). My Hyundai dealership has requested a software update from Hyundai but they do not know when this will be received (nor did the dealership warn me about the problem before I bought my new car). Carparks with speed limits (5 or 10mph) are also a BIG problem as there is normally no sign when you exit the carpark so the car still thinks the 5/ 10mph speed limit applies on the road. You then get an audible speed limit warning every time the car exceeds 5/10mph until the camera sees a new speed limit sign. This can be several miles later if the carpark is located within a 30mph zone. If there are multiple sets of traffic lights / roundabouts before the new speed limit sign the driver will get repeated warnings every time the car exceeds 5/ 10mph even though the correct speed limit is 30mph. I have to drive 2.5 miles with over 20 audible speed limit warnings before the car's camera sees another speed sign and reverts to the correct speed limit. This is extremely distracting and spoils what would otherwise be a great little car. Until this is resolved by Hyundai I would buy an older model - not a 2023 model.
I don’t totally agree with you on this, admittedly around town this feature can be annoying, but on leaving an urban area and reaching a de-restricted road the system does emit its warning sounds once, but if you ignore them and continue to accelerate up to the required speed the previous speed limit does remain displayed but the annoying chimes stop until after the next speed limit sign is detected. Mind you there is a dual carriageway near me where a slip road runs parallel to it and where there are several temporary 30mph signs displayed and my i10’s system has detected a couple of them as 80mph signs. An update is required I agree.
@@michaelkeen5010 Hi Michael - In my experience driving in a de-restricted area generates in the sequence of audible warnings EVERY time the (erroneous) speed threshold is breached. So in a 60 mph zone where the car thinks the limit is 40 mph, you get binged each time you drop below 40 mph and then exceed it again. On a country road this can result in warning sounds after virtually every corner even though you are driving well within the speed limit.
Further to my post yesterday I had a conversation with my dealer today and was informed that an e mail has been circulated from Hyundai to say that an update to the traffic sign recognition system is being worked on. The update will be made ‘over the air’ and will be notified by a message on the infotainment system.
9 months on from original post my 2023 i10 has been to garage twice for this issue. No mention it is a general issue. Still doesn’t work properly. Just over one year old now and the screen won’t switch on completely blank so no radio and nothing that uses the screen. Back to garage. My 4th i10 so unhappy 😞
Perfect timing for you to put this out on RUclips. My niece is buying her first car and the i10 is top of her list. This very week I will be looking at some for her and this video as given me a few pointers to check on any we test drive this week, over and above the usual checks I make under the bonnet and around the car, especially tyre and brake pad/disc wear. Consequently I have subscribed as a thank you to yourself.
Just to be clear, the comments about the traffic sign recognition system and the sometimes annoying over speeding warnings apply only to 2024 model year i10’s, those registered in mid ‘23 and onwards. I’ve owned 7 i10’s in total, two of which were the older upright style, then since 2014 5 models of the later design. I have not experienced any problems with any of the newer cars, in fact in my opinion they are one of the best small cars on the market.
@@michaelkeen5010 I have a 2014 i10 and I have like 3 or 4 of the issues mentioned in this video. Nothing bad, i can perfectly live with all of them unless my clutch gets worse. I simply am unable to move into reverse unless i loosen the clutch and kick it back in again. If im carefull there's no grinding.
Bought 2012 1.2 many years ago. When changed gear the engine would rev up? Took back to hyundai and the hyundai service manager replaced the clutch under warranty citing hydraulic clutch failure. Interesting as it was cable operated. I cured the revs issue myself by adjusting the clutch cable as there is a micro switch that detects engine anti stall. I wrote to hyundai GB saying my local dealer had skanked them out of a clutch. No interest whatsoever. Sold it bought a Toyota still got it zero faults 12 yrs
Bought a 2016 1.2 se (2nd hand) . Issues I’ve had…grabby brakes (as mentioned) which you get used to how to use pretty quick…reverse gear not going in when cold start (no crunch) takes couple of goes or extended time clutch depress and fuel tank requires slow fill and sometimes jaunty angle to avoid keep cutting out at pump…no clutch issues or anything else and so far very reliable…agree surprisingly fun to drive, helped by 1.2 engine which also makes motorway journeys ok…nice video btw 🙂
Thanks. I have a 2016 premium blue drive i10. Brilliant car on the whole with around 74 miles on the highway on 60 speed. However, it does have a few nagging issues, but I have worked around them because, its a very economical reliable cheap car to service and live with. Tax £20, Insurance £350 annually. Servicing £260 every 5000 miles or annually. Ulez free. 106g/km Rear axle is fixed so no alignment needed for the rear replacement tyres. Just the front needs upon tyre replacement. My rear brakes get stuck on colder days when putting the handbrake if I dont use the car for a couple of days. I have flat ground parking, so just park it in gear. Also, the start stop feature gives an issue if I press the clutch to restart the car immediately, like on traffic lights. The starter motor solenoid hits the flywheel, and I get a high-pitched grinding sound. My mechanic told me to switch off this feature, but I got a solution. Wait 5 seconds after the car turns off on start stop before pressing the clutch to restart. Never had an issue after that. The headlights are pretty ok at low beams. The high beam has excellent throw. Brakes are excellent. But only during winter they are super sharp Tc
DRL bulbs - in the model in your review when they need replacing it requires the bumper to be removed... seek out a budget body shop - replace with good quality LED they shouldn't need replacing again
I've had three I10's since 2009. My current one is the 1 litre, a 2016 model. I do general servicing myself - oil, oil filter, air filter etc every year. Takes two hours max and costs about £60 in parts. Although a 'city' car, I drove mine from Inverness to London in a day with no bother. I can get half a dozen 2.4 metre decking boards in it and just last month I completely filled it with paving slabs - it struggled but coped. The dash tells me I'm averaging 56mpg, it’s £20 to tax and about £175 to insure. Given the Governments hatred for car drivers, I intend to keep it for as long as possible. Great little car
Our 2014 i10 premium 1.0 litre has proven to be a fantastic little car. Wilding exceeded my expectations and still going strong at 90k miles. Few issues and easy to fix, designed to be worked on easily. Rear washer can get blocked if one way valve fails, easy fix by removing or replacing it. Need to replace spark plugs as sensitive to a degraded one with only 3 cylinders. Stretched handbrake cable is a 10 minute spanner job from inside the cabin. We renewed rear callipers, discs and pads at 80k miles to find old callipers had rust inside the pistons - make the effort to pump fresh fluid through occasionally. Delightfully easy to work on.
Had an I10 for 6 years from new and loved it.( second I10, the older model was better, but dated. Had it 6 years, both second cars, so changed after the warrantee period ) The only problem from the whole time is the sticking handbrake you mention. Oh, and twice, under the front "bumper" has acted up, (but thats because the wife drives over the kerb. What you report as a breaking problem, the car responds well to just lifting off the accelerator and I find the breaks are not used as often as say a fiesta, so on wet days the disks may need a second to clear.
The video would be more helpful if it stated what generation/year-range a problem existed, and what generation/year-range it was fixed ... e.g the clutch juddering. You said Hyundai sorted it out. Ya, ok, but which year was it sorted out ?
Had quite a few i10s mainly the PA never paid much for them usually a MOT fail or wouldn't start. The headlights are woeful but be careful using uprated bulbs as the switchgear is not really up to the job. Clutches weak but easy to change clutch cable don't bother with the genuine one buy the cheapest keep it adjusted and change it every couple of years. Handbrake cables don't pull evenly adjust till you just start to see the cables moving. Headlight leveling switch I've taken them apart and to be honest replace them with a picanto part rear calipers don't bother rebuilding them a pair can be hard for under 80 quid and last 4 to 5 years. Engines if you can get a old PA get the 1.1 kia belt engine don't really minds poor and missed services gates belt kit about 35 quid about hour to change no special tools required. Immobilizer isses usually sorted by tightening up the antenna ring or removing the connector and soldering the wires directly. Finally the battery is tiny i swap the terminals and replace the 054/56 for a 063.
I’m on my third i10; the latest being an automatic (AMT) 1 litre non turbo. The AMT does have quite a pause changing up gears. It has cruise control but with any incline, has to change down & I suspect that’s the reason that the older one you’re reviewing didn’t come with cc on the one litre version.
was tempted by one these but premium se spec its fully loaded and only 1.2 as so little weight it go pretty good for small car, i went for i20 of this era so not gen 1 or facelift but one after that, yes more heavy so you do need to work 1.2 harder at times but i don't mind that, drives well and far better in corners and high speed corners just more stable and tyres what wider and more grip you can really play. i went for 2015 as i wanted lower tax but still euro 6 but only 53k miles i went for premium se spec it has everything from heated seats wheel mirrors, center mirror dims parking censors front and back, a pan roof, climate control, and load other options like adaptive cruise control. my way back 8 ours mostly in peak and backroads i got 44mpg what really not bad for small petrol in hills and can get up to 57 if eco driving and 605 miles per tank. end 2nd month ownership really only did one longer trip from peaks, few days an 8 hour drive through and west wales following mountains and when get north bala head east to border a great drive and saying west less town with 20 limits it 30 miles more but faster than small town on after the other it adds a lot extra time on already long trip but a very enjoyable drive so a true test car in few days as it on roads i know and push the car a bit and as more stable i do wonder what it can do before computer says no but so far it a huge upgrade to my last gen 1 i20. every Hyundai ive driven has the going in to revise issue but only the first time if you need to re adjust and reverse again most time sot in no issue, had that for 5.5 years in my old i20 its an issue if you must back up fast to avoid something but 99% plus of driving if you know it can mess up first time put it in twice. keep on top rust that goes for all of the Hyundai and KIA and do chain at 100k and service it often they cracking cars what are fun to drive, and i10 has same engine as my new car it go well as its few 100 kg lighter. i went for i20 because i10 im sure space was not enough because old i20 boot was full back seats were full even front seat and footwell was full and that was for me for two-three weeks away anything i might need goes with so its tight fit old car so i10 would not work but i20 2015 shape just about right amount space as i do not want a big car but still needs room for my travels. i10 with 1.2 be a lot fun for sure, but i20 1.2 due extra weight it needs more work but once up to speed its great to drive and looking forward getting pan roof open in summer, the premium se i10 only comes with sun roof the i20 gets pan roof i think that only options i see different, maybe not two 12v 180w ports what be useful on my Scotland road trip
I own a same spec i10 SE manual but with the 1.2 litre 86 bhp engine. The daytime running lights blown out twice and a squeak has appeared on the nearside wheel at over 50 mph (rear?). Excellent car for town use and I agree it's a hoot to drive. One thing this lacks that I would have found useful is an intermittent rear wiper.
You forgot the part where without a full service history the timing chain jumps and condemns the engine as too expensive to repair. Pretty much no normal garage will touch it and the kit to replace alone costs 600 pounds. Just lost mine that way
i have a 2018 i10, and the brakes are really grabby. My brakes are also scraping now, although they are all new. also the clutch is horrible it judders on take-off but aside from this it's been a great car, really fun to drive. Did the Northcoast 500 in this, and it was amazing. seats are comfortable too.
We’ve had our 66 plate i10 SE from nearly new with no issues at all though it doesn’t do massive mileage. Only gripe is the rusty steel wheels visible through the wheel trims. Great round town but still happy enough at motorway speeds (so long as any hills aren’t too steep)
I have a 2017 i1o had to put new clutch in. That grind into reverse eventually took its toll. Brakes do grab, but you get used to it. Constant rattle, must b back seats, thanks for that. Still a great wee car though
Don’t go straight from a forward gear into reverse. Pull it out of the forward gear, let the clutch out in neutral, then depress the clutch again and put it in reverse. I had to teach my missus this before she breaks the bloody thing.
I have an i10 premium & I get judder sometimes pulling away, mine is a 68 reg, hopefully mine has a better clutch in mine & I also get the thud mainly when it rains
Some pointers learnt cheers, however worth noting they didn’t all come with air con as standard - some S models didn’t. I thought the headlights are pretty good on main beam.
Great video - what year and what cc is best to buy? Did Hyundai solve the nagging issues with the newer models? I am looking to buy one. Thanks again :-)
I've had mine now for 3 years good little car , Yep the Break pads stick when I don't use it for a few days , glad you mentioned that, thought it was just mine , also the rattle on the back seat. The engine light comes on steady amber now and again , I ignore it and it goes off again after a couple of weeks. The dealer told me all sorts of rubbish as it was still under warranty , wires re-soldered etc. Now the Warranty is up I just ignore the warning light and it goes away 😇 Would I recommend I10 ? yep.
We bought a i10 premium auto in 2017 and it had the brake pad problem. Unfortunately, we missed the recall window and it still clunks from time to time. It has just reached 11000, no we don't use it much. I am planning a trip around Scotland in September and wondered if it is possible to retrofit cruise control on this car?
anyone notice a short squeek after starting car in the morning, only happens for a short time. Not sure if it's the serpentine belt or brakes seizing up. Mine is a 67 plate and done 22k.
I had a brand new 2011 i10 active full service history it died with 78.000 miles on the clock hyundi garage at Everton Lymington did not have a clue want was wrong with it even though they spent two hours on the diegnostic computer
Good review! I got my daughter a used 2018 SE Go! which gets you a perfectly useful 8" screen with sat nav, bluetooth, android auto and rear privacy glass and side stripes, an excellent version. Put some sporty tyres on and it can be a bit of a hoot I agree, the little engine is very enthusiastic. Clutch was troublesome initially with a very high bite, a good mechanic we know adjusted all the slack out out of it and it was 10x better, quite normal to drive now. Its comfortable to drive and feels like a bit bigger car. Spot on about the headlights, as you say some upgraded +200% halfords ones made the world of difference. Just passed its 2nd MOT (with us) with a totally clean sheet and servicing is cheap. Its also got a decent size battery compared to a Picanto for example. Only other thing is I always take my code reader when buying a car, this one did have some EGR valve codes but ran OK so I still bought it. I cleared them and they never came back, maybe a previous owner used some bad fuel or it was fixed without clearing the codes...
My dads 2014 i10 was intermittently hesitating, after it let my down in Lidl 😡 the fault was the coils on top of the plugs! 1 and 3 were the culprits. I replaced both of these but couldn’t trust the car so I bought another i10 (premium 2020) as I think they are brilliant little cars around town with the accessional blip up the motorway. 💪 Great review and some great tips thank you.
Great to here about that rattling seat problem being confirmed i have looked all over for the noise and suspected the same , now to try to find a solution maybe wrap something around the catch . Have problem with selecting reverse but used to it now and always select third then into reverse works every time .
the only problem i had with my i10 is the rear gear when i put 1 gear in press the clutch down put the gear in neutral then press clutch down and put in rear gear it work every time to put in rear gear i dont know why this is a problem with all i10 but put the clutch down put in 1 gear then put clutch down put the gear in neutral put the clutch down then put in the rear gear this work for me every time when i had problem with the rear gear. i had also problem with rear brakes it is stuck the parking brakes i most talk to hyndai to fix the problem, but over all i like my hyndai i10 very mutch, it drives very well my is a nline with turbo, the little car is very fast and drives very well on curvy roads, rally car.
Had mine 9 years [car nearly 10] only problems being the sticking rear brakes [don't use the handbrake in the garage anymore] and the reverse gear problem [I was told this is a common thing] It is fine after every service but comes back in a month! Love the car and have no intention of changing it!
Hi Grant Can you do a video on my Honda Civic Sport, i noticed you havent done one yet and im curious to know the common faults on it just like your fantastic audience.
i have a i10 limited sport edition and the only problems on it are that the AC destroys it self and a wierd engine light error came up (the engine is fine still the light is sometimes on). Also the back brakes sqiek a lot tho they are new
I had a leak in mine in the driverside foot well apparently a 1 in million chance part of it wasn’t welded properly when it was made. All fixed now a load of sealant dumped in it. Mines a 2019 the brakes are sharp imo which is good.
On my 1.2L i10 I had after 6 1/2 years and 55.200 km only this year the antenna failed because it let water in it which costs by a Hyundai dealer between 500 to 600€ to fit it to your car and the Kat is going to fail soon and a new one with the 2 new sensor costs 3.000€ at the dealer. So after I invest in the new antenna I am going to sell my i10 because alone the Kat costs 1/3 of the cars value which I think is too much
My i10 seized my gear into 3rd and never wanted to come out, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. Takes mechanics 3days to figure out gearbox needs to be removed. I think its the 😢damn bad clutch on these cars it comes out that way. Im still awaiting final diagnostics but my feeling is telling me my clutch seized and then my gear selector failed at the same time. Weird car, don't buy it. Buy VW, you can't go wrong there. Hyundai i10 engineers are playing with peoples money.
My wife owned a MK1 and it was good, she then sold that and bought a MK2, which is total garbage. at 66K with no riding the clutch it needs a replacement clutch, timing chain. clutch pedal box.... a load of junk, never buy one of these again.
Timing chain is great but in contrast, its competitor, the VW Up. Its timing belt is rated for ten years or 130k miles. It sure as hell does not take long to change out, and don't forget that timing chains don't always last forever. I've owned both and the timing belt engine is so much smoother. oh btw the VW Up gearbox is absolute rubbish, the Hyundai one is so much better.
So can chains, plenty of cars with timing chains that have the chain fail, or skip gears as they tend to start stretching as they get worn out. If you do proper maintenance and change out the timing belt it will not snap. Replacing a timing chain is much much much more work as it is inside the engine. @@Howie57
Oil pressure switch failed and leaked on my daughters 2015 i10 1.0. Good points - lots of cabin space. Bad points - slow, weak engine, easy to stall (clutch is very light), grabby brakes, poor fuel consumption (low 40s mpg), built down to a price - way more flimsy than an i30.

This video makes me yearning for Scotland. Love the lingo, love that whimsical weather. One day, maybe...
It's fine but don't hold your breath
For what it’s worth, as soon as I start up, I switch all that rubbish off. Just read the signs.
My niece now owns a 2015 i10, SE spec, with the 1.2 litre engine.
Ulez free.
106g/km
Rear axle is fixed so no alignment needed for the rear replacement tyres.
But only during winter they are super sharp
Tc

Internal gearbox oil seal leaks onto clutch. Gearbox out job. Also very hard to cure power steering module issues P2159
Thanks so so much for this review! You massively helped me to buy one of these as my first car just now!
was tempted by one these but premium se spec its fully loaded and only 1.2 as so little weight it go pretty good for small car, i went for i20 of this era so not gen 1 or facelift but one after that, yes more heavy so you do need to work 1.2 harder at times but i don't mind that, drives well and far better in corners and high speed corners just more stable and tyres what wider and more grip you can really play. i went for 2015 as i wanted lower tax but still euro 6 but only 53k miles i went for premium se spec it has everything from heated seats wheel mirrors, center mirror dims parking censors front and back, a pan roof, climate control, and load other options like adaptive cruise control. my way back 8 ours mostly in peak and backroads i got 44mpg what really not bad for small petrol in hills and can get up to 57 if eco driving and 605 miles per tank. end 2nd month ownership really only did one longer trip from peaks, few days an 8 hour drive through and west wales following mountains and when get north bala head east to border a great drive and saying west less town with 20 limits it 30 miles more but faster than small town on after the other it adds a lot extra time on already long trip but a very enjoyable drive so a true test car in few days as it on roads i know and push the car a bit and as more stable i do wonder what it can do before computer says no but so far it a huge upgrade to my last gen 1 i20. every Hyundai ive driven has the going in to revise issue but only the first time if you need to re adjust and reverse again most time sot in no issue, had that for 5.5 years in my old i20 its an issue if you must back up fast to avoid something but 99% plus of driving if you know it can mess up first time put it in twice. keep on top rust that goes for all of the Hyundai and KIA and do chain at 100k and service it often they cracking cars what are fun to drive, and i10 has same engine as my new car it go well as its few 100 kg lighter. i went for i20 because i10 im sure space was not enough because old i20 boot was full back seats were full even front seat and footwell was full and that was for me for two-three weeks away anything i might need goes with so its tight fit old car so i10 would not work but i20 2015 shape just about right amount space as i do not want a big car but still needs room for my travels. i10 with 1.2 be a lot fun for sure, but i20 1.2 due extra weight it needs more work but once up to speed its great to drive and looking forward getting pan roof open in summer, the premium se i10 only comes with sun roof the i20 gets pan roof i think that only options i see different, maybe not two 12v 180w ports what be useful on my Scotland road trip
Just lost mine that way
The bulkhead isn’t sealed correctly behind the dash, causing water ingress. It’s a 2k job to have the dash removed and sealed properly.
THATS a review, thanks man
i have a 2018 i10, and the brakes are really grabby. My brakes are also scraping now, although they are all new. also the clutch is horrible it judders on take-off but aside from this it's been a great car, really fun to drive. Did the Northcoast 500 in this, and it was amazing. seats are comfortable too.
yeah I get the judder on my 67 plate
I have the judder too, 2018 I10, it disappears after couple minutes of running and if you rev it bit higher when you are taking off cold.
We’ve had our 66 plate i10 SE from nearly new with no issues at all though it doesn’t do massive mileage. Only gripe is the rusty steel wheels visible through the wheel trims. Great round town but still happy enough at motorway speeds (so long as any hills aren’t too steep)
I drive a company i10 put it this way if someone gave me one I wouldn't be disappointed nice driver very reliable car
Hi, trying to compare between the i10 and a Kia Picanto.. Any chance you hace done a similar review for a Picanto?
It’s basically the same car. Hyundai & Kia are the same company, they’re all built in the same factories.
From forward gear to neutral amd then forward again before putting it in reverse gear solves the issue.
Had a 2014 one. A little grease on the rear seat brackets stopped the rattle. The handbrake was always poor. My 2020 one has none of these issues.
I have an i10 premium & I get judder sometimes pulling away, mine is a 68 reg, hopefully mine has a better clutch in mine & I also get the thud mainly when it rains
Interested to know if the same issues occur on the Kia Picanto (21 onwards) as they're basically the same car
First time to your channel, excellent video, very informative and “yes” I have subscribed. 👍👍
I have a 2010 i10 and its the Comfort model ,and it is an awesome little car ,love it to bits 🙂
Now the Warranty is up I just ignore the warning light and it goes away 😇 Would I recommend I10 ? yep.
Was wondering about this as my first car my freind has it in an automatic
Rent before Buying as well!!
Very little goes wrong with this great little car. Just get it serviced at regular intervals and enjoy it.
It would be good if you could try out the new i10 and compare the two.
Mr Scotland can you please review the Volvo xc40 please
Had the same problem with my 2018 i10 and 2022, i just take it to Hyundai for clutch adjustment and problem solved
What year was this car? Doesn’t look like a new model.
It's a 2018, he says in the video, and you can see it is a 68 plate, too.
One of back seams rattles like crazy. Anyone have a solution?
Had mine 9 years [car nearly 10] only problems being the sticking rear brakes [don't use the handbrake in the garage anymore] and the reverse gear problem [I was told this is a common thing] It is fine after every service but comes back in a month! Love the car and have no intention of changing it!
Good information 👍
Hi could you let me know if it has a timing chain or a belt
TC
Hi Grant
Can you do a video on my Honda Civic Sport, i noticed you havent done one yet and im curious to know the common faults on it just like your fantastic audience.
I10 or Jazz? Thanks
do a video on i20n plz
i have a i10 limited sport edition and the only problems on it are that the AC destroys it self and a wierd engine light error came up (the engine is fine still the light is sometimes on).
On a lonely road like this. You may need a spare wheel if you have a puncture. You won't have one in an i10 or even a space for one.
Best car in the world
Name a car that hasn't negatives?
Great video :)
So after I invest in the new antenna I am going to sell my i10 because alone the Kat costs 1/3 of the cars value which I think is too much
How do you know that the kat will fail soon?
Because I have a trouble code for this and my Check Engine Lamp is Yellow for the second time in a 3/4 year@@mrmoses7170
Imagine a i10N :]
Now you’re talking!
Headlights Poor!!!! no they are not i have a I 10 from 2026 and i love it 1,2 liter
This is not the current i10 model
Prude i got your Scottish accent
My wife owned a MK1 and it was good, she then sold that and bought a MK2, which is total garbage. at 66K with no riding the clutch it needs a replacement clutch, timing chain. clutch pedal box.... a load of junk, never buy one of these again.
Thanks for warning us
Timing chain is great but in contrast, its competitor, the VW Up.
Much rather a chain... Belts can just snap
🌹🌹🌹
Loads of engines fail on these.
