Unpredictable? no... more like GREED and BETRAYAL in the highest order. There isn't any single artiste nor entertainment companies that has come out in support for the girls nor the Givers PD. That just shows how bad the Kpop entertainment is looking at them now. This video here doesn't point out much evidential fact that has been uncovered by Korean media including the girls' parents registering 60 trademark under Korean name fifty fifty that includes merchadise rights, cosmetics etc etc was FILED ON THE SAME DAY THE GIRLS SUED ATTRATK. Coincidence? Anyone who's filed trademark knows what a troublesome paperwok it is for even submitting a single trademark not mentioning 60?! all in a single day which can only lead to everyone assuming it was a well thought out plan in the making. The Song 'Cupid' was even registered under the Giver's PD name and one of the girls without giving any credit/% share to the original song writers whom are university students. Which means all revenues from the Song cupid will only go towards Givers, PD and one of the girls while original song writers and Attrakt will not even receive a SINGLE CENT. Something which is Unprecedented and unforgivable in the Korean music industry. Not to mention the Song RIGHTS was PAID FOR BY ATTRAKT.

    Details missing in thus video.
    1. A voice call recording between Attrakt and Siahn was revealed in which Siahn lied that the Cupid’s copyright will belong to Attrakt. But instead he stole it. Don’t miss the fact that Siahn is a just contractor. He has no right to do so.
    2. Fifty Fifty’s parents registered fifty fifty Trademarks behind Attrakt’s back. When this was revealed, the Korean public opinion completely turned away from the group.
    3. The entire k-pop industry is on Attrakt’s side because if they lose this battle, there will be no more BTS, no small companies would venture out and no more investors.

@@alexandercohen1149 The phone call clip was revealed by Dispatch. The clip is available on their youtube channel. Funnily a lot of k-netz are now making jokes that Attrakt CEO is indirectly promoting Samsung Galaxy since he used that phone and was able to record all phone conversations. His ass is basically saved thanks to all the phone recordings that he have. I guess a lot of international fans are on the fence or still supporting The Givers because they didn't hear the recording where The Givers CEO straight up lied to Attrakt CEO by reassuring him that the copyright of Cupid will be transferred to Attrakt after 3 months. He also can be heard confirming Attrakt CEO that he kept the receipt of the money given by Attrakt to purchase Cupid. That's why k-netz are rallying behind Attrakt CEO. Once Fifty Fifty members made their stance clear that they are on Givers side, the public straight away turn their back on them because there are clear evidence that The Givers are screwing Attrakt over.

Well, pop music history is full of what are called "one hit wonders". It's practically recognized as a genre in its own right. A group or artist makes one song that is super huge and competes with and often beats all of the top groups/artists on the charts. But it turns out to be the only hit that group or artist really ever has and the one-hit-wonder song is remembered long after the performer is forgotten. Since FF's big hit song was basically not even written for them and just found by luck and purchased by their company, it's possible that they simply don't know what to do to take the next steps and keep their momentum going... and don't have any similarly great songs available. This may explain why there's been a lot of conflict between the executives and the group.

Fifty-fifty destroyed their image already, their skills are yet to be tested, visuals are not on par with competitors. The FIFTY FIFTY thing is so confusing- I feel that its strange that the members would "backstab" the CEO after all he did. Just culturally as koreans, people are more grateful and give a lot of respect for their elders/superiors/in this case CEO, especially after like selling his car? There is definitely more going on and I think most of it is just greed from one party or another, trying to take the success of FIFTY FIFTY, but in the end, this is ruining them and they won't be able to live up CUPID again. I really don't want this since they are all so talented, but I think that they will become known as a one-hit wonder and upcoming comebacks if they do manage to pull from the situation will be far less successful. It honestly is so sad that the success they are having is only short-termed and came to a sudden halt. Like their popularity doesn't even get to die down, it just stopped abruptly.

That may be the actual reason for the conflict. They had one great song, purchased for them but not written for them. They don't have anything of similarly good quality to use as a follow-up song. The group members would be really unhappy because they would feel like it's the CEO's responsibility to get them great songs and keep the momentum going. For people who thinks CEO is suspicious for making this too public and handling it well. If this was just 50/50 members and the CEOs conflict we don't know how he would have handled it, he might have kept it low and quiet. When the first news came out the CEO was 100% sure that it was the greedy adults that are controlling the members such as siahn and the parents. To me this isn't 50/50 vs the CEO. Its Siahn and the parents against the CEO. If you guys seen the first news he said nothing about the members only Siahn. Even until now from all his interviews, it's is about what he did for them and how precious they were to him. Recently it is about what Siahn and the Parents were doing behind him. EVEN IN THIS SITUATION he has never said anything bad about these back stabbing members. He is not wanting to hurt 50/50s brand image or them. If he has a goal from this lawsuit it would be to let the members know that they are being used and maybe change their minds and work with him at the end. It does seem like its impossible to see them back together but I do see that he is trying to separate the real villains and the members. But as someone who seen the whole news I really think 50/50 should take full responsibility and step out of this industry. My wish as a support of the CEO is to make a 2nd generation with the same name 50/50 and make it happen again because atleast in Korea everyone would support them.

Who knows what can happen in the future? But it's entirely possible that they would have been a "one-hit wonder" group no matter what happened. Their one super hit was a song that was a really good song that was not written for them. Kpop and pop music in general has many cases where the artist or group kind of gets lucky with one song that catches on for one reason or another, but then they fizzle out because they never really come up with any new songs that can match the success and hype of their first big hit. There's no guarantee that this wouldn't have been the case with Fifty Fifty. It even kind of reminds me of the Crayon Pop group. They had one song that was a really big hit and were able to get a few more lesser hits due to the popularity of their biggest hit and sell a lot of albums for about 2 years, but ultimately had no staying power. Brave Girls too got a lot of attention from a national news story about how the military loved their song "Rolling" but that wasn't enough to really keep them going for more than a year.

Most of the Korean public opinion now supports Attract CEO Jeon Hong-joon.
The reason is that Givers is the company that Attract trusted and made Fifty Fifty in charge of. But Givers and Fifty Fifty's parents got greedy and violated the contractual trust relationship with Attract.
Of course, adults have a lot of responsibility, but the prevailing public opinion in Korea is that the FiftyFifty members cannot escape their responsibility because they also sympathize with the adults' greed.

  • @MookyeongKim
    @MookyeongKim 9 месяцев назад +6

Let me clear up why Fifty Fifty is being criticized by Koreans.
    1. They've just debuted, and they've already asked for a settlement. Three million dollars. CEO Jeon Hong-joon planned to pay off the debt incurred in training Fifty Fifty first with profits, and then settle it accurately, but suddenly they sued CEO Jeon Hong-joon.
    2. CEO Jeon Hong-joon provided welfare and education at the level of a large agency to raise the children even by selling his belongings and family belongings. But I betrayed CEO Jeon Hong-joon's efforts.
    3. CEO Ahn Sung-il has long been notorious for lying a lot and stealing artists from other agencies. And it's becoming more controversial because of this incident.
    4. CEO Ahn Sung-il continues to commit all kinds of misdeeds to somehow ruin CEO Jeon Hong-joon by mobilizing the parents of the Fifty Fifty members. Because of this, other celebrities, producers, and agencies are all angry.
    5. Fifty Fifty's parents independently registered the trademark rights of Fifty Fifty without consulting the agency. The agency used tens of millions of dollars to steal the group that debuted.
    6. CEO Ahn Sung-il registered all the copyrights as his own without asking the Swedish composer who wrote the title song "Cupid." He even stole a song from a Swedish composer.
    7. CEO Ahn Sung-il even attempted to destroy evidence to cover up everything with CEO Jeon Hong-joon's crime. Fortunately, all the evidence has been preserved and restored, but they are still trying to destroy it.
    8. The relatives of CEO Ahn Sung-il and professional trainers and producers who participated in the Fifty Fifty management persuaded Fifty Fifty to apologize to CEO Jeon Hong-joon and start over. But they completely ignored it.
    9. They even filed a criminal complaint against CEO Jeon Hong-joon for breach of trust when the negotiations broke down and it was likely to become increasingly unfavorable. I don't think it's a civil suit anymore, so I was trying to make a crime.
    10. Fifty Fifty claimed that CEO Jeon Hong-joon announced their illness without consent and that he sexually harassed them. But then they actually signed a contract with an agency that produces sexy adult movies. Why did the girls, who were angry that the CEO committed sexual harassment, sign a contract with an agency that produces racy adult films? Doesn't that odd?
    11. CEO Ahn Sung-il won his own contract with Warner Bros. Music Group without notifying CEO Jeon Hong-joon. And I kept hiding it from CEO Jeon Hong-joon. He was trying to monopolize the overseas expansion through Warner Bros.
    12. Fifty Fifty's parents gave back money to a producer of a current affairs culture program on SBS, one of Korea's leading terrestrial broadcasters, and unconditionally made biased reports in favor of Fifty Fifty. Viewers were very angry that SBS mocked viewers through biased reports. So the SBS homepage was paralyzed for 6 hours.
There are many other controversies and misdeeds, but there are 11 things I can sort out. If you need more, I will organize it again and reply to you later.

    A really good commentary.
My problem: somebody is lying but I have no idea who it is. The girls don't strike me as greedy but, of course, I might be completely wrong. As a principle, I don't trust any musical company CEO - it does not matter whether they are selling their Rolexes or buying copyrights, money is all they are about. And there is a factor nobody really talks about (for a good reason - they are staying out of sight), the girls' parents.
My *guess* is that that somebody watched the Loona case and decided to pull off something similar: a really stupid idea because situations were as different as possible.

    1. The Givers (Shian) actually agreed a "buyout" of 50/50 from Warner Music Korea without confirming the actual "owner" of 50/50, ATTRAK.
    2. Shian use the money from the CEO of ATTRAK to buy "Cupid" but register the copyright under his name, his company and one of his employee for a total of 99.5% (the other 0.5% goes to one of the 50/50 member).
    3. The parents of 50/50 members tried to register trademarks of the group's name and the stage name of the members despite the trademarks already owned by ATTRAK. Their argument was that the trademarked names was treated differently in English and Korea, which is an absurd claims.
There, 3 facts that could be the icing on the cake. For me at least. Did the members backstabbed their CEO? Maybe. But even if they did I would not put the blame entirely on them. They're young and new to the industry. My take on this case is this: after the instant success of "Cupid", someone get greedy and able to persuade the members (the members parents, to be excact) to follow his scheme with lies and deceptions. I think we all know who that someone is.

I mean, it seems logical only as a means to ditch Fifty Fifty while maintaining their company's name intact as they prepare for their next successful group.
(Just to clarify, even if there were such problems, as the group members suggest with their lawsuits, I wouldn't jump to attack Attrakt because for all I know it might have also been due to their lack of experience as a company.)
*important edit: the timeline by itself seems to have awaken a disagreement, and so I'd suggest to read the following thread for more details.

I'll wait until this is all settled, but I will say this. I can't think of an example of someone getting screwed in the music industry where management or the label were the good guys. As the old saying goes, "There are three sides to every story. Your side, my side, and the truth."
Not saying that they couldn't possibly have done anything wrong, but if someone were to ask me to wager money on who was the scheming party looking to rip someone else off between a group of young girls who sing and dance, or corporate music industry insiders, CEOs, managers, and a record label, I wouldn't bet on the singers.
These days, you can find any number of social media shills who'll prostitute themselves out to whomever will give them money, to put out whatever that party want people to think. Fake stories on Twitter or Facebook, RUclips videos that spew misinformation, you name it, and people suffer damages because someone was willing to take money to say whatever they were paid to say.

They purposely canceled those big schedules. If the court decides who is at fault, there is no going back. Girls and management company will not be able to work together. In the event girls loose, they have to pay penalty fee to attrakt. The fee is calculated as follows. Monthly average of their income multiply by number of remaining months under contract.
In other words, girls choose to sue the company prior to big money schedules so those schedules will be forced to be canceled. Canceled schedules will not bring in any income and will not count against them as penalty fees. Further proof of their plan is revealed when it was revealed that PD Ahn rejected commercial contract offer without informing the CEO.
Rest of lawsuit excuses dont make any sence either. Twice still went through their schedules when Mina and Jeong-Yeon was sick. Entire 5050 recieved break when one member got sick. Text message from CEO to Ahn shows CEO never subjectbthe girls to inhumane schedules. Truth: 5050 only did 22 schedules in 5 month span while other groups goes through multiple schedules per day.

win, lose or draw... life goes on, at least all of the people involved learn the secrets on how to become a world star overnight (well almost, but quite fast though)
    1. If you're setting up a new company, don't go blindly and hire a 3rd party company/representative/person especially in this type of industry (corporate wolves are everywhere), take it easy. If you still really need to hire a 3rd party (idk maybe you're a washing machine CEO suddenly have the urge to make an entertainment company with zero knowledge in the field) never take things lightly and never trust them 100 percent. Closely monitor and pay attention to their actions, not just "hey, take care of this, heres the money, now im going to sleep"
    2. If your a new group from a Nugu company (even the big ones) and feel like being mistreated, don't go all guns out instantly, secure the customers/listeners/fans trust first, collect all evidence that points to the issue in the mean time so you have a strong case to defend.
    3. If you're dealing with a multinational company take extra precautions when dealing with them, theres a reason why they are successful in the first place, need to have a "you snooze, you lose. You sleep, you weep" kind of mind sets when dealing with them.
    4. Think hard before acting out on something, no matter what your friends or family say or want you to do, they will always be giving orders and advice from third person point of view.

Same thing for fifty fifty, they rose to fame quick (I like them too) but maybe it went to there head and they did betray the component but also what if they didn't and they are the affected party it just a bad situation all around

Hopefully they're so talented and it was and it was and I hope they can continue together as a group and a solo artist, regardless if it's under the same or new group name. I think in order to avoid being a one-hit wonder, they should choose to either release another super catchy song (possibly utilizing social media dance challenges etc just as Cupid went viral) OR pull away from the cookie cutter teenie bop and release a harder track showcasing their rappers more in the vein of XG maybe. (Keena is an actual dope rapper IMO and not just playing the “rapper” role). It would be a shame to be a one-hit wonder because all in all I think they really have the elements of a full package and have the potential to be big.

its true that siahn got the copyright for cupid. but that didnt bring him the most income. for example spotify gives less than 10% to the copyright owner of the song. around 5-6% to the performing artists and the biggest part to the company of the artist, so attrakt should still get the biggest part.
the problem is that attrakt give all his income to another company of the CEO to pay for some debts he made in the past. Thats money laundering and tax evasion that will leave the girls as victims without any income no matter what they do. no wonder the girls try to leave.

To all of the people siding with their CEO and hating on the girls, accusing them of being "greedy" and "backstabbing" their CEO, you all obviously don't know anything about this CEO that you all are mindlessly meat riding without paying attention to the fact their CEO has been in the industry for over 20+ years and is a PR person, meaning he has connections with powerful people in the industry and has been able to seamlessly get himself out of his past scandals without so much as a scratch to his rep.
He was the CEO the company that mistreated and mismanaged a 3rd gen bg named Hot Shot who had to disband due to being neglected by this company.
Another one of his former artists posted in support of Fifty Fifty, claiming that he had treated her terribly as well and that she had always wanted to do something about him. There's no reason why, when FF has been getting dragged through the mud since they decided to sue, that this woman would show support for them knowing that she'd start receiving massive amounts of hate as well if she wasn't lying.
Lastly, their CEO was involved in the S#arp scandal. S#arp was a 1st gen co-ed group that disbanded due to the members bullying one of their female members. The company they were under threw this member under the bus instead of defending her and guess what? FF's CEO was apart of the head of people managing S#arp's company and he was one of the people that ruined the female member's career and reputation, but lied and made it seem as if he was always on her side years later.
Lastly, other than not allowing the FF members to see how much money they're supposed to be paid and not paying them (which is obviously illegal because no one wants to not know how much they're being paid, let alone not being paid anything. Who tf would want to work for free?), their CEO also released personal information about the girls (the public was told that Aran had gotten surgery) which is also obviously illegal because they didn't consent to their information being told to the public, so it was a violation of their rights. The CEO also lied and told the director that was going to be in charge of filming their music video for "Barbie Dreams" that Keena had covid even though she didn't along with telling them that Aran had surgery, so that's why the music video filming was canceled.
Now, their company is in the process of trying to trademark their group name in multiple different countries, which will prevent the girls from being able to promote anywhere with the name they have now.
All of this information can be found on Twitter by Nugu Promoter and a few other accounts. It can also be found on Naver, but you'll probably have a hard time finding the info since K-netz have been attacking anyone who's been providing evidence on there that their CEO is a piece of trash.
These girls are innocent and it's obvious to me that all of you who were so quick to side with their poor excuse of a CEO already didn't like the girls to begin with, probably because y'all are mad and bitter that Cupid got as popular as it did. That's why it's still charting too. ❤

They sought to rectify an unjust contract for their own benefit. The unrelated stories surrounding them should not be conflated. In certain instances, there is a tendency in Korean culture to embark on witch hunts.

    • @von1glik
      @von1glik 10 месяцев назад +8

All initial contracts are unjust. Companies invest in groups without knowing if the group will succeed so for the first few years they always get majority of profits. Here probably girls and their parents thought that if they made it this big they can dictate the conditions and they can risk a conflict with the company coz they had an upper hand due to their rapid popularity. They overplayed and that's it. Now they will be in legal battle for the next year and they will fade to irrelevance. In few years CEOs will give their story to trainees as a cautionary tale

    • @JO-qn8gy

Why just go along with anything and everything the producer says?
I just don't understand. Bases on his behavior one could say he was more like a silent invester than a CEO.
