It sounds as well as it looks! I love it! Thank you for giving us all this richness sounds of Taylor Guitars in your reviews. More power to Chris, Copper & ELMO Music!
A couple of years ago, I bought a 914 ce Limited with sinker redwood top and koa back and sides. It’s a fabulous playing and sounding guitar. I’m surprised Taylor discontinued the regular 914ce, I’d sure like to know the real reason.
So Taylor discontinued the 914, what does that do to the used price? I don't buy guitars as an investment, I buy them for sound, playability, and as an heirloom for kids and grandchildren. I also insure them, and that's where re-sale and replacement cost comes in. For example, I bought a Taylor 512ce. After bringing it home, it would sell for half as much even though it was Iron Bark, not mahogany. The issue with Taylor's is that you never know what it can be, and every new change lowers the price of previous models: except for some 900 and presentation models. This is a nice guitar. I already have an Alamo one that is similar, but sounds better. Thanks Chris and Cooper
Just a note on the value of older Taylors. I’ve just purchased and 90s model 12 string, the 555, and shopped extensively on Reverb. Vintage Taylors are highly valued, most are kept in great condition, and I didn’t run into a singe one with any type of crack or lifted bridge and none with a neck reset (for those of the earlier vintage). And you really pay a premium for guitars built in Lemon Grove. Everyone loves what Bob built. So, rest assured, the value of a Taylor is pretty rock solid.
You are certainly right that the 80s and 90s are highly valued. Three years ago, I purchased a 614ce Builders Edition for $3400 at a local store (it was a good deal, I thought). Today on Reverb, looking at every used one, the vast majority were listed at or above that. There were onlythree around $2900-$3000.
All I know is that guitar sounds and looks amazing. I'm a recent Taylor convert sold my Martin just wasn't feeling it so I got a 317 and gs Mini koa e digging both.
Apologies if this has been asked - I didn't a video on your overall impressions of Taylor at NAMM. What are your thoughts that Taylor was not open to general attendees? As one of those, it sucked. For a Taylor collector (7) and Fanboy it was incredibly disappointing.
Yes, Cooper tends to sound like he is saying "Elmo"... I just always smiled when he does it, but knew it was just his ... style. LOL As for the 900 series, I don't care what they are called. I buy based on the guitar, not what it is called. And man, Taylor still knocks them out of the park. My go to is a 314ce Limited. Cheers!
Wow. First of all, nice job on the playing. Really nice. Second, the sustain is incredible. Sounds like a chorus pedal was used. Third Cooper crakes me up.
You guys are two cool cats...Having said that... I would like to say that Taylor needs to slow there roll for a bit and give it a rest with the 8 million different guitars!!! Maybe give us a year off to catch up and enjoy the line up for a time!!
Chris, I'm in the market for a 914CE Redwood. I had a 414CE and loved it except no arm rest. My question is: how different are the radius and beveled armrest on the 914's ?
I guess they needed away to raise the price of the 914. I thought the 914ce was custom made basically. Well I’m not buying one but I’m sure some who have all the high end Taylor and Martin guitars will to complete their collection.
it's a mighty sound, no question, actually for me it is too much.. the look, okay, everyone has it's own taste.. lawyers, dentists, that had long hair 50 years ago, will love it... i stick with my reimagined d28, for me she sounds way better, but in a world where guitar prices get crazy manufacturers have to fight for their share...🤓😜
The builders edition is a way to charge more money for less product! Taylor should be ashamed of themselves, time to change brands! Especially knowing customer luthiers who have directed the Taylors and shown the corner cutting especially the tape thats right TAPE abalone that’s installed on Taylor not the shells thats installed on Gibson, Martin, Collings, Ferguson, even Yamaha!

I’m guessing it was a matter of excessive supply of sinker redwood tops….?
I love my rosewood/spruce 914CE, I have a 2019, Vbrace w/arm rest contour. It is literally the best Taylor/acoustic guitar I’ve ever played/owned.

@@CameraLaw maybe where you are, but not around here , and many other places. Pre-2000, maybe. Even the guitar Hunter finds it so.

Great video! Fabulous playing Chris.........this guitar sounds amazing!
Great presentation. Amazing guitar. Thank you so much for showing this guitar to the world. Love Alamo Music.

Such the beautiful guitar. Elmo music always so good.

So glad I got the last 914ce at my local shop!! But let’s be honest….they will bring it back
I have this guitar. Creamy smooth tone and super comfortable to play.
Do you have that exact one?
Other than the appointments, the 800 and 900 series were basically the same anyway weren’t they?
Wow. First of all, nice job on the playing. Really nice. Second, the sustain is incredible. Sounds like a chorus pedal was used. Third Cooper crakes me up.
Chris, you played something new! Love it!
Wow, very detailed and pronounced sound!
I have this guitar and I love it. I costs a lot but I love the guitar.

I have the 914ce; how does the tone of this one compare to the sitka/east indian rosewood standard one, tonally?
What a beautiful guitar...👍

I would like to hear it A -B(d) against a standard 814ce.

I just need a moderate lottery win. Bought a 614ce Builders Edition. Want the matching 652ce Builders Edition.
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Lovely and sweet. The guitar's nice too.
Wonder if Taylor and Ryan guitar Luthiers met in an alley if there would be a rumble....
Would it be smarter to buy a 914 builders edition or the 814 50th anniversary?!?
it's a mighty sound, no question, actually for me it is too much..
the look, okay, everyone has it's own taste..

Always loved the 914ce. Just not in my budget.......👍✌❤😎
The back looks like ass cheeks but it’s awesome. 😂 Love the sound of this!
😂 I can’t stop seeing that now!!!
7K? Really? This is a Presentation series

Where does this rank on the Steak Meter?
Dry-Aged Australian Wagyu Ribeye
@@AlamoMusic I never thought a guitar would make my mouth water 😍
Thank you for the beautiful fingerpicking. This guitar will replace my D55 and Taylor 614, the bass response is beautiful, good job Christopher
Taylor needs to lower action on new guitars.
Money!
Who’s Elmo ?
I havent cared for any of the guitars that I have tryed that have caught the builders condition
Y’all’s can make a tin can sound great !
CAD 10,000 before taxes; no thanks.
Taylors always sound tinny to me, especially plugged in.
$9500 CDN. Better come with breakfast and a happy ending.
I dare say, it doesn't get any better than this guitar ... well, maybe except for the $12000 version of it, but then is that really 2 times better?
Wow, I think the guitar is beautiful but honestly I don’t think it sounds great. Not impressed with it nor the video, sorry…. Appreciate it though.
Sound apart I am here for the glorious BEARD. ahhahah
more like, 914 reincarnated
Seriously. Who's gonna buy that thing? You could buy a beautiful Boucher for less, and have a far better guitar. Come ON!
Boucher? What model guitar are you referring too?
