the 1125r uses a rotax. it was the last buell produced under harley, and the first buell under harley to not use a harley engine. harley finally stepped out the way, and stopped forcing erik to use their engine, and let the leash go wrapped around erik's neck. but it was too little to late for the brand

      Beat me to it.
I think the performance of the Rotax powered Buells was the final nail in the coffin for Buell. I had an XB12R back in the day and the moment the 1125R was made public, I WANTED IT. The XB12R handled great but was always lacking "something," and they got it sorted out when they lost the Harley power plant.

For context on the Cuban bike, that’s not the bring it to the US is people trying to sell it to other Cubans to get it for their family members, sometimes you find houses for sell in Cuba as well

I bought my bike (2020 Ninja 650) from the dealership from the first listing you had. It’s my first bike so I was a bit overwhelmed seeing all the cool toys they had in stock, but everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable to make the whole process a lot smoother, there was also a customer getting his 3rd bike from them at the time and he gave me the nod of approval on my purchase. I honestly had a great time there and had my first taste of being a part of the bike community.

My most recent buy was a 1980 CX500 from Marketplace. Got a screaming deal on it, even after spending a month working on it and buying parts off eBay, I'm still only up to $1600 total invested and it's a very cool bike. Not fast, not great in any regard but it's weirdly lovable.

I got one on Craigslist for $500. The guy said it hadn't moved or been started in 8 years. I replaced all the fluids and put a new battery in it and it started right up, even with a frozen choke cable. 2000 miles later the CDI failed and I had to find one on eBay but that was only $100. It's been great. I haven't even had to take the carbs off, I just ran some seafoam through it.

The 1125 Buells are rotax. The early version of the motor in the hammerhead
The fuel and oil inside the frame and swingarm respectively is done to get the center of gravity as low as possible. Along with the exaust under the bike is a big part of what makes them handle better than most bikes on the road. They are very light and flickable for their size. Incredibly agial and a blast to ride.

My first bike was a yellow 2001 Buell Blast. I bought it with my second paycheck as a teenager. It was half a sportster engine that Buell ‘stroked out’ but it was more than enough bike to learn on.

I resold a BD250-5 for $2000. They arent a bad deal for the price if you give them a little TLC. You gotta change the oil before you ever ride it. That is very important. The oil in them is only to protect components during shipping. I replaced the TMAP sensor that corrects some of the throttle issues they can have. I tore out the built-in crappy foam air filter that almost suffocates the engine and replaced it with a K&N. Not a performance thing, but I also found a pretty inexpensive exhaust tip that made it sound more like a motorcycle and less like a go-kart. I did all of that, and after giving it a clean break-in period, it was almost a different bike. It started to feel a lot more zippy and fun. I never took it on the highway just because it doesn't really feel made for that. It CAN, but it is a great little backroad commute bike for cheap.
Just tbh, as someone just looking to get started, going to an actual dealership or approaching a previous owner was a bit intimidating, especially since I was not ready to ride away in anything. There was a lot of value in the fact it was just one flat price with a delivery fee built in and it showed up at my door. I actually put it on affirm through amazon initially. Just a few clicks and like 5 minutes and I had a brand new motorcycle headed my way. 2 weeks later I was an MSF graduate and the rest is history. I sold it because I moved up to a CFMoto 650 Adventura I got for $4100. 2022 with 1100 miles on it.... from FB marketplace lol. Chinese knockoff to just Chinese lol. There is definitely a staggering difference in quality and features lol. I feel like everything worked out. I only put 400 miles on the Boom (mine was X-Pro X-24), mainly because I got it in November. It was adequate to get me from nervous beginner to novice so I was ready for my first "real" bike.

I paid $4300 (out the door price, sticker was $3600) for a brand new '22 Versys x300 from a dealership... In 2023. They're so outdated (300 engine, no LEDs anywhere) that the dealerships can't seem to move them. If you're in that market, look around for last year's model on the showroom floor... There are deals to be had.
I'll be first in line for an updated little Versys, if Kawasaki ever gets their heads right and make one. It's an amazing bike, despite it's dated features.

People travel to Cuba constantly and many even now live part time there, so they'd buy that for use in that hell hole or to provide unfortunate family members back there some transportation purchased probably with good old US foodstamp money. I know people that own property, airbnb it and have scooters renters can use to pick up jineteras on.

Too late… Bought it a week ago, arriving tomorrow and JUST came across this video, what a coincidence!
Its been a dream of mine ever since my dad used to have one when i was a kid, he had the 750 with the exact paint scheme. Instant dream bike. Something about those 90’s superbikes… 💙🧡

Hey man! Hope you see this! Any chance you could do one of these in Norfolk, VA, or Virginia Beach? This place has the biggest Navy base in the world so there’s tons of young, broke junior Navy dudes trynna get into motorcycles. And I’ve been trynna get some of my guys into it but it seems like all the listings here are mostly pretty bad? I’d like your opinion on it though Papa Yams

I am not mechanically inclined enough for a bike that has as many years on it as I do.

I wish I saw this when it came out. As a Miami resident this place is TERRIBLE for riding. The people drive like maniacs and don’t look anywhere, it floods any time it rains so you can’t ride, the roads are bad quality, the road don’t bend or have any elevation changes so you’re just riding in a straight line and people will flat out steal your shit. I wouldn’t recommend riding in Miami. Also hot as fuck lol
