Laker Airways DC-10 Fleet History (1972-1982)

My husband and I flew on a Laker Airways DC-10 from London to NYC in 1980. We were college students coming back from a Study Abroad trip in Europe, and we just showed up at the airport and bought tickets at the counter. Since we had been in Europe several months, we had four bags each and the limit was two. We approached some people in line who had only one bag and asked if they check one of ours, which they did. Imagine trying something like that today!

I flew Laker DC10 in mid 70s from London to Corfu, it was with Club 18 30. Had a great time!

In my 60 flights 70-79 jfklhr a bunch from 77 on were skytrains. Camping out on the platform at Victoria station all night to get a spot on the flight to NY the next day. (It was first come first served till sold out).
