Makes me feel so old realising that Tony is even old enough to be a Grampa ! I hope he is doing well, loved the band so much back in the day and still do. Inward Revolution was and is a fabulous album
@@eightiesmusic1984 I didn't meet the band. Not many other big bands on that day apart from The Colour Field with Terry Hall who sadly died recently. It was all very fast moving. Was a long time ago as well.
@@MaxandFredsmum It was a long time ago certainly. Thinking Of You by The Colourfield is a great song and Terry Hall's death is very sad. Thanks for replying and happy new year.
One of my all time favorites. Still got the 7" vinyl of it. Was 16 at the time riding my vespa to every all nighter in the midlands and back then this song was the soul of the 80s. BSA should have been far bigger.
I was 15 in 1985 when it was released and marvelled at how good the song is and still think the same. Julie Hadwen had a great voice and it is a shame BSA did not enjoy more success. The album it is from has some good tracks too and extensive liner notes in the re-release explain the history of the band. One of the best of the eighties no doubt. I am 52 tomorrow and this seems like yesterday.
Was lucky enough to see them in Swansea Uni when I was a student....was about 3' from the front! Back in those days there was hardly any security, no H&S, and tickets were affordable 🙂 Miss those days....
Reminiscing of various concerts I went to in the early 80's, saw them at the Camden Palace in 84ish - they were brills and Julie's voice was mesmerising! 👍Loved the BSA
Loved BSA. Saw them at most of their London gigs and had some great photos of them performing at the 100 club. Be great to have some chords/ sheet music and lyrics to these videos. Hope all members are well and still playing.
This was such an amazing few months for music. See if you can track down Hits 2 compilation, which features this timeless Northern Soul-esque stomper. Other amazing songs from this period (early 1985) include Since Yesterday by Strawberry Switchblade, Loverboy by Billy Ocean, Let It All Blow by the Dazz Band, Close (To The Edge) by the Art of Noise, You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive, and Kiss Me by Stephen Tin Tin Duffy. What an amazing number of classics to be in the charts all at the same time!
Very good record out at a time when chart music was starting to nose dive in quality. If it has come out a few years earlier it would have been a bigger hit
Good point. Dexys are magnificent. The Proclaimers and Dexys are similar in sound in some of their songs. Kevin Rowland helped them launch their career.
Absolute tune. God, we didn’t know how lucky we were
That is my grampa playing guitar and singing

Should've been a far bigger hit, awesome
Damn right!!!
One of my favorites from the 80,s
Yeah, least it wasn't a flop!
Am dancing in the back left in the blue dress @ 1.20, 2.37, 2.59, 3.11, 3.42
Was lucky to get a ticket for the show. Good times.👍
Did you meet the band and if so what were they like? This is a great TOTP performance. Who else was on the show that day?

@@eightiesmusic1984 Thanks for asking . Happy New Year to you too.
How did you get tickets ?
Her voice is so unique and beautiful. The world will never see anyone like her again.
This was the best song, the Style Council never wrote.

"Moving heaven and earth" is great as well...
Arguably the greatest TOTP moment ever - the saxophone catch from 3:05
Genius song. they really were a great band.
heard this on forgotten 80s tonight. great song
There's a great live version of this as well, one of the best one-hit-wonders of the 80's

Still one of favourite songs.

Great song back in the day … these guys should have been huge!
Still a belter all these years later. Should have been a bigger hit though;)
What a band
Massively underrated
These were an awesome band. Deserved to be so much bigger.
One of my favourite tracks of the 80s , amazing vocals
Loved this song, still do!

loved this band and 7 years ago got the 2 cd , 28 tracks cd. rare.
Such a big sound of Paul Weller in this. Should be, they were signed to his Respond Records early on.
1.40 Peter Kay on guitar!!!
I'm gonna shout about it !! ❤
January 1985 got to number 28 in the charts
My uncle Martin Wilson was the bass player in blue shirt 🎽 her name was Julie lovely voice she was from Watford
This tune, for no reason whatsoever, just popped in my head, had to Google to find out who sang it...I'd never had remembered.
😀 great one hit wonder
simply brilliant!!!!
Brilliant track

Best. Song. Ever.
Excellent

80's Classic!
This is the best
Bangin tune.....
The brass sound is straight out of Dexys.
Good point. Dexys are magnificent. The Proclaimers and Dexys are similar in sound in some of their songs. Kevin Rowland helped them launch their career.
Formerly The Directions 😎
👌👌
Anyone know who’s in keyboard?
The style preceded Amy Winehouse by 20 years.
Should have been an album in it at least.
The management of the band mess it up bloody shame they had some good tracks
Pity it not on any 80s cd
Julie was on par with Amy Whitehouse
That needs re-releasin KTF
kids must be tone deaf nowadays
Great Singer!
Bad lyrics!
Cool sophisticated sound but overall pretty forgettable
Not at all. It is one of the strongest songs of the eighties.
