It is going to be some time before server economy is up and running to a degree, where raid mats and pets are going for full price on the auctionhouse. If you are trying to buy your first mount at level 40, and everyone is as well, then there are no one to buy your things. The best advice is grey items, but so far a lot of beta testers have come out and said that private server farm spots like Whelps and Swamp of Sorrows are yelding significantly less gold then they were used to, and especially the Whelps were a lot tougher to kill apparently, because they got their armor values wrong or something. Get skinning while leveling, and vendor all your leather, just pick up another profession later.
Talking about vanity pets. Nethander Stead. Hillsbrad. Terrible drop rate but Black Tabby Cat. Worth 35k currently (thanks to the Crazy Cat Lady title) Back then worth 200 gold

Reid Sjaaheim correct answer. You’re better off grinding, questing, etc. to get your mount as you’ll have gotten some levels and get the mount anyways instead of backtracking
Nobody else is looking into "RAW GOLD" farming. This is the "best" way to make gold the first month due to the lack of gold in the economy as whole. My plan is to farm elites as i will play hunters and have some tricks up my sleve for fast killing and low downtime. But id want more "hard to kill" mobs that drop nice vendorgold. The problem with this video is that it assumes a mature server. I was getting a ton of those Small Blood Sacs and couldn't sell any of them because nobody needs fire resistance potions at this point. Everyone is saving for their mounts so nobody is buying luxury items at this point. So you pretty much just need to focus on gray items.
Lock and Pally buy their mount, The mats alone will cost as much as the a mount + trainer and they have to do their chain quest which is very difficult to do it alone.
as a shaman, drop a fire searing totem when fighting those basilisks. It seems to me, the basilisks turn every time to try to put my totem to sleep rather than me. Can't beat that.
Just a heads up to everyone you will probably be required to have Greater fire protection pots for raids. 1 elemental fire and 1 dreamfoil. If you’re planning to raid...herbalism on your main and a level 35 alt with alchemy will save you tons of gold. Small flame sacs are worth farming for dragon breath chili though.
Exactly why I've been purchasing epic BoE's off the AH- people are selling them ultra cheap. They are going to increase massively in price later on. I've picked up a fiery war axe for 40g, Underworld Band for 80g, Staff of Jordan for 140g. I've already got my mount and still got 30g remaining and am lvl 52. Its a really easy investment anyone can do if they've already made gold through leveling/looting. As long as you're buying good BoE's and not some shit like Uther's Strength you will make a profit just from doing a simple buy/resell.

It all just depends on supply and demand as well as how much someone is prepared to pay for such an item. Generally the only ones over 300g are the really insane ones like edgemasters(1k+).

My main farming is elemental earth of the elements in dalaran north hillsbrad. Got to be horde though. The drop rate is better then the elements in badlands and ele earth is in great demand for raid pots. 2.5g per one. You can farm for your mount in like 10 hours easy.

You missed a grey item that drops off turtle at a decent drop rate called the speckled shell fragment I believe and it vendors for 9silver 3copper each I farmed which stack up to 5 get four stacks of these fragments that's 1 gold right there plus if your hardcore enough you can combine it the whiskers and tails for even more GPH
I'm rolling a warlock so getting enough gold to buy a mount at 40 won't be a issue. My plan is to still obviously try to make gold but since it's not a critical for me I'm going to help out whoever ends up being the tailor/enchanter for my guild by giving them all my extra cloth and garbage greens (will probably sell the weapons though since those are worth quite a bit) I figure helping him reach 300 will help me (and the rest of my guild) out at end game and save me from having to tip for enchants at 60
People going into Molten Core won't use those for prot potions. Someone will run LBRS for the Greater Fire Prot potion recipe and that will kill the market for the lesser ones. That recipe and the crusader enchant/righteous orbs will make you very popular. As a mage, once you hit your 40's, buy your portal spells and do taxi service. A lot of gougers used to charge stupid amounts for portals. A smart mage will charge 1-2 gold a person and pull in tons of cash.

I used to get nasty whispers from Mages in BC because I sat in Shattrath and offered 2g per portal (not per person). Funny enough, I probably made more than them because of all the tips.

The only thing that will make money for you while leveling, is looting everything. I know that some players don't even loot some junks because they are sold for 5 - 10 silvers. Imagine that 10 silvers times 100 monsters, only to see how much they lose not looting that. Loot everything even if this means going to town often, and you'll make money easy mostrly after lv 40 when drops are a bit more "valuable" :D
The best way to have gold is to make sure you dont need to spend any. Make alts to make stuff you otherwise would spend gold on. If you want to raid the worst gold sinks are alchemy and enchanting unless your raid group will supply you with said items/services.
100 gold for level 40.. not always! if your honored with your faction you will get 10 gold discount and if you do pvp and ranked up to Sergeant, you will get also 10g gold discount. I had both of them and pay for my first mount 80 gold total! INCL the riding skill... And paladins and warlocks have to do 2 very easy quests to get the level 40 mount, without useing gold....
The quest for epic class mounts will come on a later phase of the game. So i will buy a 1000g mount with my warlock couse i dont wanna run around slow the first months.
Small flame sacs are also used forDragon breath Chili (min maxing food for a small dps up) Savory Deviate Delight is not only an apperance twaek it's very useful for saving buffs vs dispells in pvp and even pvp vs Garr...
Those things are all nice n stuff - They will eventually go for an ok price indeed. BUT right now they (except te grey vendor stuff which is even better at basilisks) are not worth jack because there's no lvl 60s buying vanity stuff... kinda obvious
shredder farm is useless. whelps are best, on top of everything else, dragonkin have a higher chance than otheflr mobs to drop greens and blues; also another bonus if you're a skinner they drop rare dragon scales when skinned. only problem is they're VERY popular farm spots, for obvious reasons. but if you're able to claim one for a bit, they'll be your best bet.
The problem is with "How to make money" videos, that now 67k people are gonna know these tricks, making them near useless, farmed out and market prices deflated. The video was very informative.... but it just shot itself in the keyframe

I remember from last time the mats were nearly as expensive as other classes buying / training outright. The only real difference is you have something no other class can ever get. And don't forget all the dungeons you must do to get them.
I’ve heard that the stuff needed for the paladin mount and warlock mount costs almost as much as just getting the training and mount what are your thoughts on this comment vaulty
To put it lightly. I got my 60 Paladin mount after hours of grinding arcane crystals from rich thorium, rare herbs had to be bought for about 50-60 gold per single herb, the freaking goblin in tanaris made me run around for days, paying 100g per quest, multiple ubrs, lbrs, scholo, ud strat, live strat (looking for righteous orbs and various other mats/items), then I had to learn the advanced riding skill. All told i think I spent roughly 1-1.5k gold Only to have my hard work become a feat of strength.... id have prefered the refund
@@Hawkx10 iirc, I think the pally ended up being slightly more expensive than the lock mount, but I think the lock mount quest might have been slightly harder to do, because of more solo parts of the quest. But I never played pally, so I could be wrong

At the very least you should name him Kevin... like Kevin BACON!! :D I used to farm the whelps in vanilla with my hunter, because I so badly wanted the pet, but I made a lot of money not just on the drops but also the leather I would skin. So that's a doubly good farm spot if you want something easy and relaxing to farm.
All the stuff you describe is just a few silver worth even in the AH. Best to do is KILL KILL KILL and SELL SELL SELL all you can get, even the most favorable stuff. Best loots are enemys of lower levels, onehit -> loot -> onehit -> loot ...... on that way you farm with high speed same stuff by same droprates.
Your not selling anything tonppl for lots of gold with in a few months of launch vendoring options are the best way to get gold till the auction house is established

You don't need 100g for the mount. You need 81 gold for the skill and 9g for the mount. You will get the rep automatically if you just quest.

Everyone says paladins and warlocks get that shit for free when they actually pay near 300g still its just drastically reduced
The quest for epic class mounts will come on a later phase of the game. So i will buy a 1000g mount with my warlock couse i dont wanna run around slow the first months.
They do get their lvl 40 mount for free. You’re confusing it with their epic mount.

Those things are all nice n stuff - They will eventually go for an ok price indeed. BUT right now they (except te grey vendor stuff which is even better at basilisks) are not worth jack because there's no lvl 60s buying vanity stuff... kinda obvious

shredder farm is useless. whelps are best, on top of everything else, dragonkin have a higher chance than otheflr mobs to drop greens and blues; also another bonus if you're a skinner they drop rare dragon scales when skinned. only problem is they're VERY popular farm spots, for obvious reasons. but if you're able to claim one for a bit, they'll be your best bet.
The problem is with "How to make money" videos, that now 67k people are gonna know these tricks, making them near useless, farmed out and market prices deflated.

still wonder every damn youtube video oh pala and lock get there big mount for free thx to a quest , the mats you need for the quest are expensive to , well sure not full price but high enough to still have an eye on it
I remember from last time the mats were nearly as expensive as other classes buying / training outright. The only real difference is you have something no other class can ever get. And don't forget all the dungeons you must do to get them.

I’ve heard that the stuff needed for the paladin mount and warlock mount costs almost as much as just getting the training and mount what are your thoughts on this comment vaulty
To put it lightly. I got my 60 Paladin mount after hours of grinding arcane crystals from rich thorium, rare herbs had to be bought for about 50-60 gold per single herb, the freaking goblin in tanaris made me run around for days, paying 100g per quest, multiple ubrs, lbrs, scholo, ud strat, live strat (looking for righteous orbs and various other mats/items), then I had to learn the advanced riding skill. All told i think I spent roughly 1-1.5k gold
Only to have my hard work become a feat of strength.... id have prefered the refund
@@arbadon435 So there's pally proof now I'd just need warlock proof. Course I'm rolling lock but for the big d%^* DPS not for the "free" mount
@@Hawkx10 iirc, I think the pally ended up being slightly more expensive than the lock mount, but I think the lock mount quest might have been slightly harder to do, because of more solo parts of the quest.
But I never played pally, so I could be wrong

I used to farm the whelps in vanilla with my hunter, because I so badly wanted the pet, but I made a lot of money not just on the drops but also the leather I would skin. So that's a doubly good farm spot if you want something easy and relaxing to farm.
All the stuff you describe is just a few silver worth even in the AH. Best to do is KILL KILL KILL and SELL SELL SELL all you can get, even the most favorable stuff.
Best loots are enemys of lower levels, onehit -> loot -> onehit -> loot ...... on that way you farm with high speed same stuff by same droprates.

Your not selling anything tonppl for lots of gold with in a few months of launch vendoring options are the best way to get gold till the auction house is established
100 gold couldn't be 350k gold now, i remember getting to lvl 20ish with 10 gold in bags but in retail i don't get 35k when im lvl 20 how about that?

I was hoping to see something that hasn't been posted to youtube or other sites about 1000 times :/ No one post anything new, all these ways have been posted since 2006 on how to make gold. If everyone does these , NO one makes enough gold to buy their mounts because all the farming spots over camped. Go to any of these places and you will see High levels farming them already LOL
