I love the way you cut your schnauzers. That's the way I like them cut. Close and tight. You can see the shape of their cute little frames, how muscular they are, which also makes their faces with their eyebrows and beards stand out more. And that's what makes them so adorable. I don't like the standard skirt that most schnauzers have. I actually prefer their beards and mustaches trimmed more than the standard cut too. Your way of cutting them, IMO, is more attractive and brings out the best in the schnauzer looks. Love your videos. Love your dogs. And I love scrappy little Milo.

Your dogs are your dogs are your dogs so how you groom them is exactly the way they should be groomed! I love these videos because I like the way you break down each part. So easy to follow. I've been grooming my 7 yr old since he was a puppy and, to MY mind he is a "show dog" . In reality, he runs in the back yard and retrieves with his lab brother ---two different-sized Chukits, and he is often a macaroon, covered with twigs and leaves. We do a lot of comb-outs here! You are a great teacher and I thank you very much.

We just clipped our new mini schnauzer for the first time. This video was so helpful. We went out and bought the same grooming tools and tried to follow the instructions just as she explained in the video. Our Jolie came out beautiful and we were so much more confident following such precise instructions.

You do a great job on the boys. I groom one of my schnauzers myself because he will bite others. He will bite me but he has improved. He was in a near fatal accident at 2 months old and suffered brain damage. The vet couldn't say if he would totally recover but since he was only 2 months old there was a good chance. He is a real sweetie but when I clip his ears he guts aggitated. I use a muzzle at that point to protect myself. He has improved and I hope he will eventually stop bitting. He is only 1 year old now. My other schnauzer has gone to the groom all of her 5 years. I could do her too but they make her look so beautiful. I am 62 so I prefer the easy way out. Ha ha.

this is a great example of home grooming. though I professionally groom for a living, I groom my personal babies at home. it's sooo important to invest in good quality items; these clippers are pro grade 2 speed, the blades are andis, very good brand, and it is so important to have good shears. they stay sharp longer which is safer. Lastly, the table and lead keeps them safe. I thank you for giving these gorgeous schnauzers a great home experience, since home is where they are more comfortable. I personally don't mind home grooming, all I ask of every do-it yourself-er is to do your research and get good quality items. thank you

Thank-you. We have a 6-month old, high-energy mini who's just been twice to the groomer. Fortunately, she's a friend, so she forgives a lot, and she makes it fun for him. Next year, though, my husband retires so our income will drop. I thought about clipping our boy alternating with visits to 'Auntie Anne', as he seems to grow so fast! But is the outlay going to save me money?

Thank you so much for sharing how you groom your schnauzers. Your videos are the easiest I've found to follow and you did an excellent job of explaining things that I found very helpful. Your dogs are beautiful and I love the way you groom them..I think you did a beautiful job on them. I want to groom my two schnauzers. One is 5 years old and has been groomed professionally every 4 weeks since I got him as a puppy but I recently got a puppy who is now 5 months old. I would like to groom them every 3 weeks vs. 4 weeks. Anyway...I subscribed to your channel and I thank you so much for making these videos. They were so helpful to me.

Thank you so much for your detailed videos! Your babies are so beautiful and so well behaved! I have a 2 year old schnauzer and I'm trying to learn how to groom him at home myself because he hates to be groomed in pet shops, it's very stressful for him, for the groomer and for me, since I never leave his side (I'm affraid the groomer might lose their patience and hurt my dog or something). Your videos have been such a great help! I'm still worried to learn how to make things right so that I don't hurt my dog and watching your tutorials have given me more courage. Thanks a lot! Thank You! I have been grooming my schnauzers for some time now and have always had a problem with the face area. I think this will solve my problem being that one schnauzer has thin hair and the other has more coarse hair so I have to use different blades each. But as far as the face I think this will help me to make it more even. Thank You again!!!!!

Schnauzer Mom what a sweet dog! Aren't they just the best??!! I am curious, what and how to you feed your dog? Mine has a weight problem which is mostly because I just let them out into my huge yard, instead of going for walks but I feed him a light dog food. Your doggie is very pretty!!! I love my Schnauzer! He is the best dog I have ever had! SO sweet and SO loyal!

If you get a good trimmer, Oster or Wahl (pros often use Wahl) it's easier than you think. I used to sell trimmers (the cheap kind). they don't work well. Pay the $135 for a Wahl, they work like a charm. Be kind to your Schnauzer since the noise drives them nuts. the videos show you how.

Great job! I do my Schnauzers pretty much the way you do. This last time I actually cut off all the hair on their legs. I’m in Pflugerville TX and we get really hot here. We are up in the 80’s already.
I really wanted to see how you do the beard. I always mess mine up.
What I found that works great for the eats and around the leather is a mans beard and mustache trimmer. It’s not an aggressive shaver and it’s tiny. My dogs don’t mind it at all.
I have purchased what I thought were great thinning shears, and got duds. What shears and thinning shears do you use?

You really do do a good job keeping up with the boys. They are well cared for and it really is time consuming. My girl doesn't mind me holding her by the beard as I am careful not to pull her hair. Also under her armpits is sensitive. They must be brushed and your dogs always look neat and tidy. Thanks for the tips. For those who don't know, going to the groomer can be expensive. Where I live it is $70.00.+. As you have demonstrated, you can do this yourself if you try. RUclips has a do it yourself video that helps.

I agree about going out to groom. I groom at home and occasionally have a professional groomer "clean up" my "mess". I am getting better at it all the time and my baby has never had what is sometimes known as Schnauzer bumps. I think that is probably because my Andis clippers are only used on my dog and I keep them clean, oiled and changed often enough to be sharp.

Your schnauzer are so cute ! They behave so much :) I like a lot they way you groom because they look so clean! But I’m a bit scared of cropping the air, many people says the fur changes and it is not so strong after using a clipper

    • @janesublett5272
      @janesublett5272 5 лет назад +1

Unless you do a professional stripping of the coat what you are clipping is the ends of the hard coat as well as the soft coat and it all grows out at the same time. Unless you are showing your dog I'd say it is totally not worth the hours of extra grooming and rotating areas for that hard coat. Hair is plenty "strong", don't worry, it's just not the same as a stripped hard coat.

Great job!!!! Your Mozie (sp?) looks like my Bella!!!! When we got her, there was only one guy in my town that groomed Schnauzers and he was great but only did it part time and contingent upon his work schedule. He became the mgr of the business he worked and had to give up grooming so we were out of options for grooming Bella!!! omd , I love your videos and your dogs ; probably I have now left comments on all parts. I wish I could leave my Schnoodle with the beard how you do but the Poodle part of him has left him with too much curly action in the beard. It curls up and inward , so curly cowlicks. I do wish I'd have seen the missing footage of cleaning up the face between the eyes and top of beard. my dog's fur also curls up and toward his eyes and his face is rather short ; not much room for me to get in there. Thanks for demystifying for me how to use the thinning shears. I have a pair but did not know how to use. If the last dog was the nervous one, you are blessed b/c they all seem totally calm. I want to kiss them and hug them. Adorable !

1 last question: How do you keep the boys beards out of their mouths and lips? and stop them eating them every time they open their mouth? I trim my baby's lips and along her chops on top but the beard still curls back under up into her mouth. She hates it and i dont know what else to do short of cutting it ALL off...Which i don't really wanna do lol. Does the weight of it help hold it down when they eat/yawn/talk etc?

Do you keep your dogs clipped in the winter? I just moved to Idaho and let my 2 Schnauzers hair grow out. They don't like to wear sweaters. I love your videos! You do a lovely job with your dogs. I have always groomed mine. The only thing they hate is clippers in their ears.

Yes I groom my boys in the winter too. I do not put sweaters or coats on them when they go out. If you've seen any of my videos during the winter they don't mind the snow. When thier cold they come in.

Hello! I have a Schnauzer and I also groom him but he refuses to let me do his ears. I’ve tried it all and he still won’t let me do them. He will not let me do his belly either. He has only been to the groomer only once after that I have been doing it. When I try to do his belly he starts barking and sometimes jumps off the table so I won’t do it. How can I cut his belly hair and ears without having to uses the scissors???

How often do you bathe them? They are so active and sweat a lot.....

What type of clippers are you using? I started cutting out Schnauzer's hair after watching your videos, but I want a better clipper than the ones I have now. They get the job done, but they are loud and I think it makes Ghia nervous. ;)

I use the andis ultra edge pet clippers. I bought it at petsmart but they also have them on Amazon. They are definitely worth the money.

I've been doing this for decades. The noise, dryer and trimmer is the source of aggravation. Be kind it works.

How do you trim their upper lip without them licking the scissors? My dog did that and I swore off doing my own grooming! I want to start again though.

+Maureen O I have never had a problem with them licking the scissors.

+jstump1972 I trim the hair around their eyes about every other week. When I clean their beards about every couple days I use a wet paper towel to clean around their eyes.

Is there any reason why you go against the grain of the hair on their heads? I have always just gone with the grain and i have to clip EVERYTHING on my girl cos we live in australia and she's just too wooly to have a traditional coat. I have to trim under her beard too cos she gets matts and brings home burrs and bindies and all sorts of needle like weeds when we go walking. Thanks for doing this video i'm totally going to give it all a go next time i clip her...(so, basically in a week, cos she needs clipping every 3 weeks lol)

Wibble Wobble I was wondering that too. What # blade are you using? Maybe you said that in another video I didn't catch yet? I use a #10 on his back but I feel if I went against the grain on his head bed be bald.?

+Cowboy Smiley I think in this video I was using the Martha Stewart thinning shears from petsmart. They work really good.

Я бы оставила меньше брови, но длиннее, больше сняла середину морды. Низ бороды сделала бы по бородавке, а верхнюю челюсть чуть длиннее. Под глазами линию.
А так ОКЕЙ, auch sehr gut. Danke schön.
I would leave less eyebrows, but longer, more removed the middle of the muzzle. The bottom of the beard would make a wart, and the upper jaw a little longer. There is a line under the eyes. And so, okay. Thank you, it’s also very beautiful.

People are too lazy to cut around the beard and then there schnauzers turn out ugly. My personal presence is to have a long beard
