Yes, sis your hair looks amazing, very feminine look on you.😍🔥 My challenge is to have this look for the month. The more feminine loose and flowing hair. My hubby gets excited when I have hair loose.🤭🤷 It's because I always have my hair wrapped or protective styles. 🥴Thanks for all the much needed information.

Well girl, the proof is in the pudding. Your hair looks amazing!! 😃👏🌺💕 Well done! It seems to me that you grew the majority of your length wearing your hair in twists, and they look great on you! You mastered washing, moisturizing and retwisting in increments. You figured out how to tame your edges without over manipulating them. Seems like you had a perfect routine. Nevertheless, you trying different things is benefiting us watching and learning, and it’s not causing any harm to your hair goals, which is amazing! You’re going down as the greatest, kinky haired natural hair RUclipsr of all time girl!! Thanks for all you do. And…my hair gradually thins in density on the sides of my head as well. I think that’s just how our hair grows. 😅
Girl you truly know my journey wow 🤣🤣. Honesty your positive comments literally fuel me to keep the content going and continue conversations about our hair🌺🌺🌺
Yaaasss so happy. I’ve learned so much along the way and my hair is thriving following your advice. You are my favorite natural hair RUclipsr and ty for all that you do. ❤❤❤❤❤subbie for life
Thank you for turning me on to glycerin. It has truly been a game changer. I'm able to go up to 2 weeks without washing my hair. I may try pushing to 3 weeks to see what happens. That glycerin is the truth. Although I do need to tweak how much I use since we are coming into the warmer months. I'm realizing that I may not need quite as much as I did during the colder months.
Hey Sis, hope all is well! 🌺👋 I wanted to come back and tell you that you planted a seed when you said not to use water or water based products when protective styling for easier takedown. I actually had begun cutting back on spritzing my hair when you mentioned this. I then started to listen to commentary that stated the idea that our hair doesn’t need water, it needs to be “conditioned”, and that conditioner is an oil, butter or grease. Since we went natural, the common stand has been to treat our hair like its skin, to hydrate with water then to seal in that water with an oil. But our hair really doesn’t require water. It actually feels dry when water evaporates from our strands, so that’s where glycerin changed the game, which is a type of oil. I actually found out what it felt like for my hair to feel conditioned without actually being wet once I incorporated glycerin. SO! 😂 I said all that to say I no longer put liquid or creams on my strands. I wash my hair, do my henna mask, let my plaits air dry a bit, then I mix castor oil with glycerin and put that on my strands. Once my hair is completely dry, I finger detangle and put Shea butter on my hair and proceed with plaits, or whatever style I’m going to do. I no longer have to deal with the shrinkage and tangling that liquid or creams bring. My hair still feels soft and maluable. The cuticle remains layed and mostly closed because there’s no water being put on it to open it, so the back and forth of swelling and closing isn’t taking place on a regular basis, only on wash day. Girl!!! This is such a revelation, but then again it’s not because you said that’s what you all used to do when you were a child!! It’s what my mom used to do for me too, but she just wasn’t gentle with my hair and was always pressing it with a hot comb, so it never was able to retain length. I find that no matter whether us Coily girls are relaxed, straight natural or Coily natural, our common aim is to keep our hair stretched to retain length. And what causes our hair to shrink is water!! Water is the problem when we’re trying to retain length because our hair inevitably shrinks and tangles when it comes in contact. So I just wanted to share this with you. I thought my hair needed water to not be dry, but the truth is it needs oil and butter. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this if possible. I hope all is well and looking forward to seeing how you’ve been! 🥰
thanks for sharing as usual. I have seen some videos on people discussing that the hair doesn’t need water. I disagree strongly because in my own experience my unhydrated unmoisturised hair becomes really dry rigid and breaks easily. so the only way the “ no water” routine make sense to me is if you are hydrating the hair by washing it as often as moisturising is required. I think our hair needs both water and oils and our job is to find ways to minimise the shrinkage.
Your crown is beautiful Sis, keep going. I am also seeing results with my hair journey and the growth is there. I have reached armpit length.🎉 I have a new protective style, this time with my own hair and I want to keep it for two months. Thank you for the videos😊🙏🏾
Oh my!! Same here sis!! I have been doing protective with my hair. I do the 'Cinderella in the ball style'. I tuck my hair in a bun, and the front, I fold my long hair at my forehead. It's bra length but because of shrinkage!! Sigh. It's my beautiful signature style now.
Tenderheadedness after detangling sessions? Oh, yes! This happens even with finger detangling. I think pain when handling hair is so normalised in our community that a painless haircare routine is unimaginable. It is for me, at least. I honestly can't recall a time when I styled my hair with no pain at all during the process. Weird. I guess some discomfort when caring for afro hair is inevitable? Interesting to think about. Can't wait until you tackle this topic. You have, by far, the most thought-provoking videos when it comes to our afro hair. I enjoy them so much! Thank you.
I agree but for some reason I can moisturise with water and not drench my hair with water. But what I have found is the best is to just take it all down after 2/3weeks and reinstall. Cause just retwisting after washing took me 7 hours while reinstalling takes max 4 hours. The math told me what to do
Your hair looks lovely 🥰 I agree with you, to some degree, about the water. I wore locs for many years and water caused it to loc faster. Even now, when I put my hair in twists, just 2 weeks and 1 wash and it begins to get matted.
You're so beautiful, so is your hair. Had told myself I wouldnt use synthetic braids this year BUT hai! Converted my twists to medium mini braids and installed box braids over them. My plan was to remove the box braids after 4 weeks, wash the mini braids and reinstall the box braids. After watching this, Im a little torn as to what to do, I think I'll remove the box braids, wash the mini braids, re do them again and put back the box braids. Hope that helps with detangling ad breakage. Please dont hide tha beautiful hair in a weave
Just took down a 3 month long mini braids protective style, and let’s just say, I think I’ve finally learned my lesson after 2 years of trial and error: my hair simply cannot take being washed in that state/extra water added after install. Period. I watched this video before, and I immediately ran back to this after my recent take down. I’ve done the same old tricks people constantly tell us to do: ”moisturize before drying”, “deep condition”, “wash regularly” and the painful, excessively long take down.. even still being as cautious as possible, using my fingers..and my shedding and breakage was still insane. I think im going to try to find or make a scalp serum to keep it some what “clean” within 4-6 weeks max, and stick to very, very little water/oil combo on my strands on a weekly basis. I’m still not sure what this looks like, cause as you’ve pointed out, I don’t see the point of all that manipulation just to keep it in only for 6 weeks.. but the creams/washing made it a nightmare to take down. Knots and frizz galore! I’m tired of the setbacks!
Thanks for the update. Whew taking those braids down was a job and all the shed hairs. I think for me personally…2 strand twist is for me. And do not have time to spend taking down the braids and all the shed hairs….
You and your hair are gorgeous. You're glowing. My braids also stay mositurized for a month when installed. I'm back to armpit length. I'm shooting for bra-strap length by the end of the year. I'm pretty positive I'll get there because I get an inch per month. Also, I redo the outer perimeter monthly.
I’m trying microbraids (w/ my own hair) right now. I’ve been washing weekly and spraying w/ glycerin aloe mix. When you asked for our pov on how to avoid tangling during takedown, I took out one of my braids to see if it was tangled and noticed it wasn’t. Sooooo I think smaller braids may help reduce tangles. Let’s see.😅
Your hair is gorgeous, thank you for the video! You look so beautiful. And also for the tender scalp, I leave my mini-braids for two months before redoing them, and I don't have a tender scalp. I used to though when I would do style after style with attachments. I don't knoz if tender scalp is a thing, but I do is I spray my scalp 2x a week tea, I oil it 1x a week and ACV rine 1x a week. I don't know if I don't experience that because of this routine, but it may help someone
Yes adding water will make detangling during takedown very difficult. That is why I do not wash my hair at all for the 3 to 4 weeks. I use braid spray if I have added hair and mousse to keep hair moisturized. For the edges mousse is good if you want to lay hair, there is less friction during application and you get to keep the edges afterwards. There was a time I tried cowashing the hair while in 2 strand twists, and I had better results. Your hair looks absolutely amazing!!
I agree with dry detangling. It makes the process quicker and easier. I usually flat twist my hair and whenever I used water, my hair would tangle and feel crusty. When I just used oil, smooth and easy.
Whoah, sis. Congrats on the length! 🎉. Your hair is sooo healthy looking and beautiful. I am seeing more thickness and some length in my hair also since doing your aggressive protective challenge as of February. Again, thanks for the great tips. ❤
You look beautiful and your hair is gorgeous. When I take down my braids, I use a lightweight oil. When I tried water, so much hair would come out. Then I remembered when your hair is wet it is in its weakest state. Me having fine hair, it's better for me to use oil. Your scalp is tender because you hadn't combed your hair for months and when you are combing your hair you are putting your scalp under stress. I watch a hairdresser and he says the key to growing hair is not to let it dry out and oil your ends regularly. I have been doing this and my has been growing beautifully. I am seeing a lot of women going back to long term protective styling, I don't know if, in the long run, hair and scalp issues will arise in the future. I've seen a lot of women from my generation who used a lot of tight extensions and weaves are now balding. I can remember when I was a child women had their hair out and they didn't have any balding and their edges were intact. Please be careful with this long term protective styling is it really necessary?
@@CoilyDiaries Your hair is beautiful. Just put it in big cornrows and wash every couple of weeks, your hair will still grow, you won't have a tender scalp and you can see the beauty of your hair, most importantly, you will be able to oil those ends to keep them from breaking to retain length.
Wow your hair is beautiful 😍. I’m currently carrying this style u took down. What a coincidence..lol. I have been pouring water on my hair but not everyday tho. Like three times in a week and to my greatest surprise my hair doesn’t shrink. Instead it stretches. I also noticed the same when I did the protective style challenge. I carried my cornrows for two months. My hair works well with water, and I wet my hair before I take down my braids, allow it air dry a little bit leaving my hair damp. These previous protective style I did, I didn’t use water and my hair broke. It was so dry, I couldn’t detangle it properly cos my hair kept cutting but I’m happy my hair still grew
Hi dear, Wow wow wow and wow I will definitely follow your guidance until I achieve my goal. I will be wearing protective style for 6 months period back to back every year. Thank you
Your hair looks magnificent!!🥰💜 Personally, I think you look great with your hair up and with the wraps. I too enjoy the look of my hair when it is out. I think that is another reason I enjoy a WnG. Braids are a wonderful choice, but I really need something that is easy to take down so when I do any kind of protective style it is a twisted updo or loose braid updo. I enjoy the elegance of updos. It can't be something long-term, because of how frequently I have to shampoo. I get a lot of ideas for styling twists from Mrs Charity Umar, and styling updos and loosely braided hair from the Long Hair Community. The LHC is mostly a non-black forum but it is a forum for ladies with long to ultra long hair, and the updos are beautiful and many of them can be done with long natural hair. Being tender headed is another reason I don't do long term protective styling. Any style that's going to have me in tears is not a style that I'm going to do.
Look at all that hair ❤❤ this is all the motivation I needed to persevere with my protective hair challenge. Your videos are always jam packed with info, keep up the good work 😊 Btw my scalp is always tender on wash day, i thought it was the deep conditioning with a steamer so I am trialing not using it but the tenderness is still there, thanks for flagging this
@aaliyaha Me too! My scalp is always a bit more tender after I wash my hair, that’s another reason why extending wash days for me is beneficial for my scalp and hair.😊
OMG! Your hair looks amazing! I also noticed that about adding greater whilst in a protective style. It lasts less if I add water, i.e., 3 weeks, with possible tangling. When I tried not adding anything, after 6 weeks, the takedown was a breeze. It was pretty dry though, probably because I used synthetic kinky braids. I’m going to try using less water based products after I take these down and we’ll see how it goes Thanks for the awesome video as usual😊
Your hair looks so pretty and shiny! It does feel nice to wear the length every so often. 😊 I wonder if you couldn't just treat your hair (in braids) the way straight naturals do? There are many of them who only wash monthly, and you know they are staying fastidiously away from water for all that time and they still keep their hair soft, moisturised, bouncing, and flowing. Something else that may help - have you considered wearing the braids for only a month, then taking them out and wearing as a braidout for a week or two? You'd have less tangling and would still get 5-6 weeks out of the style, and I know a few people personally who have great success with this method. Your scalp may have also been tender because you hadn't manipulated your hair in a while. Combing and braiding and detangling on a regular basis can help to stimulate the arrector pili muscle, and just like any other muscle, if not used regularly it can get weaker. I know ppl with locs say their head becomes very tender after they comb out their locs, and people who wear the same part all the time struggle with tenderness just from flipping their part! Maybe some good scalp massages on the days leading up to take down would help alleviate this? Yay to hear that your edges recovered!! 🎉 I think most people's edges would be far longer and thicker if there were less manipulation.
I do not shampoo my hair in a protective style. I spritz my hair with fenugreek water,n apply aloe vera gel, then apply a small amount of Sheabutter. I am currently on a 4 month long term protective journey.. I hear you about the not feeling attractive wearing cornrows, single braids for a long term protective style look.
I am intrigued by the fenugreek water, how do you mask the smell please? I tried fenugreek in a hot oil treatment but the smell of it all, just couldn’t get past it 😂
@@aaliyaha there is no smell because aloe vera is a cleanser to the hair n scalp. I apply my strained aloe vera gel n fenugreek water to my scalp every 3 days
@@aaliyaha actually I love the scent of maple syrup. If the scent of fenugreek bothers your sensory add a drop of rosemary, peppermint or lavender essential oils to your oil solution.
I recently did a long term protective style which is why I haven't uploaded a video in over a month. I did smaller braids than normal. I just finished taking my hair down and it took 3 days🫣🤦🏾♀️ my scalp is so sore and tender. I believe shampooing while in braids was the culprit of tangling...I'll never do this again.
When I did 5months, the takedown was a breeze!!! I washed the hair during the 5mths and I spritzed before takedown. I’m doing it again so I can share the experience😂
Me too girl 😀 now RUclips university told me I had to do it. Like you said in the video don’t put water and conditioners while doing long term protective style I was doing the two months challenge with you with added hair I didn’t saturate my hair with water I just made a sprite with glycerine and I used Mielle curl refresher the pomegranate line to my surprise my hair wasn’t dry when I take it down it wasn’t mated at all . When you said you were over it gill I said I am done too my hair was bagging me for moisture.😀😃😃did my hair grow a couple inches? Yes because I took my time and didn’t use leave in conditioner to take down I used oil and it made a big difference on how much hair I lost. Now I am ready for the next challenge.😂😂
Me as well. I was so afraid that I broke off more then I grew lol. Never again. Thanks to coily diaries I now do my take down with oil and it’s so much better and smooth
i agree. water is a weird one. What i started doing after taking out a protective style was spraying aloe water like once a week or every other week. Sometimes ill add a leave in but this gives me an excuse to actually touch my hair to see if she like it. Just trying not to ignore my hair in this 90 degree weather.
Great lessons. I recently had my hair in braids, no weave for 5 weeks. I washed and deep conditioned weekly. When I finally released my hair I was miserable with all the detangling. I used leave in conditioner and oil to help with the matted hair. Now I’m back to weekly washing and redoing the braids. I wear wigs throughout the week if I’m heading outside. I find my wash days go soooo smooth and are much faster when I keep to that schedule. Your hair looks so good. I’m excited for my hair to get that long. How did you stretch it? Just braids alone? Or do you have a revair or regular blow dryer?
sounds great with you washing abit more often for easier management! I tried weekly washes in the past and the detangling was just as stressful! details on the look coming
When taking down protective style I does use fresh Aloe vera leaf. To me that is the best natural detangler for me. Talking about twist protective style I just watched another youtuber Isimeme Edeko and she also had twist as protective style and she said never again.
Thank sis but I always moisturise my hair before I take my braids down. I pre-poo, deep conditioner, treatment for my hair and am okay with the way I handle my hair in mini braids
I was going for a 3 month challenge but I ended up doing 7 weeks. I grew almost 2 inches in new growth. I kept my hair moisturized with the water conditioner and glycerin mix. When I tell you my hair was well hydrated 😊. I tried my best to go a bit longer but I need to re cornrow. The glycerin is a game changer. Thanks so much ❤
Wow your hair is so beautiful 😍😍😍 love it, I took my 2months cornrows down...and like I don't know what do my hair is getting weaker and weaker so soft. What would you advise me to do please 😢
You ate this look up..Girrrllll! What causes more tangles and matting is the washing while the hair is still in the long term protective style. In my opinion, and from my experience, just stick to your remoisturising routine and leave out washing until the end of the protective style..when you take down.. detangle then wash.
Thanks for the tips! So helpful! You and I should do something together 😊! I think it will be great since we share quite a few subscribers. coilydiaries@gmail.com HIT ME UP!
I have never been tender headed until I went natural. You look great, isn’t Not wearing weaves and wigs one of the main reasons we’re doing all this work to grow our hair so we don’t wear those things?
Hi the is this lady from South African her RUclips name is Braided Daedam she doesn't put water on her hair, please watch her videos there's a lot to learn on her page
The natural hair RUclipsr Eugenia Kelcy uses deep conditioner only to soften the hair on the braid she is unraveling. Not the whole head at once but one braid at a time. Try that next time instead of using water. She has 4C hair with slightly tighter coils than yours, and it is down to her tailbone.🤗
you are still in the learning phase. this is interesting. trial and error should come first before giving advice. i continue to watch but i will wait before taking the advice.

Thanks sis! All the best with your “braids over twists” sounds like a good strategy to avoid tangles
I’m tired of the setbacks!
lessons learnt! another option is to do larger plaits and just refresh them more regularly post wash. that way tangles and shed hair don’t accumulate
Thanks for the update. Whew taking those braids down was a job and all the shed hairs.
I think for me personally…2 strand twist is for me. And do not have time to spend taking down the braids and all the shed hairs….
@@roselindthomas1 twists are really a win win for so many reasons
You and your hair are gorgeous. You're glowing. My braids also stay mositurized for a month when installed. I'm back to armpit length. I'm shooting for bra-strap length by the end of the year. I'm pretty positive I'll get there because I get an inch per month. Also, I redo the outer perimeter monthly.
That’s a great goal! Thanks for the kind words ❤
You're looking beautiful as always... i love the new look.... however You're pretty at any angle 😊
Oh thank you! 🙏🏽 you are kind
Let’s see.😅
Absolutely 😊!
Your crown is beautiful ❤amazing ❤
Thank you 🙏🏽
Wow! I am so inspired. Your hair looks amazing.
Thanks my dear…
Your hair looks beautiful 😍😍
Thanks ❤
Your hair is gorgeous, thank you for the video! You look so beautiful. And also for the tender scalp, I leave my mini-braids for two months before redoing them, and I don't have a tender scalp. I used to though when I would do style after style with attachments. I don't knoz if tender scalp is a thing, but I do is I spray my scalp 2x a week tea, I oil it 1x a week and ACV rine 1x a week. I don't know if I don't experience that because of this routine, but it may help someone
Thanks for sharing this 🌺🌺🌺
The hair is hairing 😍. Love that for you
😂😂😂 thank you 🙏🏽
Yes adding water will make detangling during takedown very difficult.
I think You are on to something!! Thank you ☺️
@@CoilyDiaries 😃
I agree with dry detangling. It makes the process quicker and easier. I usually flat twist my hair and whenever I used water, my hair would tangle and feel crusty. When I just used oil, smooth and easy.
I totally agree!
Yeah, I used oil only for my first 8 week take down. And it was smooth and easy too.
You've got beautiful hair !
Thanks 🙏🏽
This challenge helps me with my edges it's back completely, thanks for that dear
I'm so glad!
Whoah, sis. Congrats on the length! 🎉. Your hair is sooo healthy looking and beautiful. I am seeing more thickness and some length in my hair also since doing your aggressive protective challenge as of February. Again, thanks for the great tips. ❤
Thanks girl! Happy for your progress as well!!!
Great points raised. Will see how I go but I definitely prefer my own hair 🌺🌺🌺
Hi Coily can you please make a video on how you were able to straighten your hair w/o heat. Thanks.
Details on this look coming
This so interesting! Kinky hair stretching when water is applied! Definitely a first…
@@CoilyDiaries yeah I was surprised too. I washed it yesterday and it shrunk 😂. I guess it couldn’t maintain the stretching
Your hair looks so good!!!!
Thanks hun!!
Looking like Tatyana M Ali and Zoë Saldana.
Beautiful. 🎉

Yeah true you do
Hi dear,
Wow wow wow and wow
I will definitely follow your guidance until I achieve my goal.
I will be wearing protective style for 6 months period back to back every year.
Thank you
Ahahah 🤣 wishing you only the best on your journey!🌺
Beautiful hair 🔥🔥🔥🔥, GOALS!!!
Thanks lovely 🥰
Thanks for your insights! Love Charity’s content 🌺🌺
Look at all that hair ❤❤ this is all the motivation I needed to persevere with my protective hair challenge. Your videos are always jam packed with info, keep up the good work 😊 Btw my scalp is always tender on wash day, i thought it was the deep conditioning with a steamer so I am trialing not using it but the tenderness is still there, thanks for flagging this
You’ve got this girl ❤️❤️❤️
@aaliyaha Me too! My scalp is always a bit more tender after I wash my hair, that’s another reason why extending wash days for me is beneficial for my scalp and hair.😊
The struggle is real with scalp tenderness 😂
Beautiful hair. Did you blow dry?
Did you use low heat for blow drying. Beautiful hair

Mane & Tale makes a Great Detangler!
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
I love Mane & Tale detangler, it works really well on my hair.
I’m going to try using less water based products after I take these down and we’ll see how it goes
Thanks for the awesome video as usual😊
sounds like a plan!!🥰
Your hair looks so pretty and shiny! It does feel nice to wear the length every so often. 😊
I wonder if you couldn't just treat your hair (in braids) the way straight naturals do?
I love all your ideas and insights! I thought the pain was from too much tagging at the scalp! Definitely have a bit to think about and try out 🌺
Wooow!! You look so beautiful like that with your hair out
Thanks sis 🌺
Omg your hair looks sooo pretty! Aaahhh❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
Marshmallow root, flaxseed with aloe Vera juice is a great detangler
👍🏽 👍🏽 yes they are
Girl👋👋👋 your hair is truly gorgeous, your efforts paid off big time ❤good job
Thank you so much!!
Love to see your hair like this 😍 so beautiful
Thank you ☺️
I do not shampoo my hair in a protective style.
Shampoo is a huge culprit too!!
I am planning to go on 6months challenge, now on my second month i wash my hair once a month and deep conditioning in my protective style.
I recently did a long term protective style which is why I haven't uploaded a video in over a month. I did smaller braids than normal. I just finished taking my hair down and it took 3 days🫣🤦🏾♀️ my scalp is so sore and tender. I believe shampooing while in braids was the culprit of tangling...I'll never do this again.
we live and learn sis 🌺🌺🌺
When I did 5months, the takedown was a breeze!!! I washed the hair during the 5mths and I spritzed before takedown.
I’m doing it again so I can share the experience😂
Wow!!! How come your hair wasn’t as tangled??
Yes water is the devil on long protective style take down I learned it the hard way the tangled was crazy.😀
Right?? I remember when I was younger I never used water during the long term protective style
@@BebieClerge love it 🌺🌺🌺
Just trying not to ignore my hair in this 90 degree weather.
hahah love the excuse 😅
Your hair is amazing dear ❤❤❤
Thank you hun 🌺
You look beautiful P. enjoy the fruits of your labor.. 💗
Amanda!!! thanks love ❤️.
When taking down protective style I does use fresh Aloe vera leaf. To me that is the best natural detangler for me. Talking about twist protective style I just watched another youtuber Isimeme Edeko and she also had twist as protective style and she said never again.
It’s truly a learning journey 🌺🌺🌺
Your hair is beautiful🎉❤ I forgot to mention. Hard work and dedication really pays off.

Oh Yea 💙
Thank sis but I always moisturise my hair before I take my braids down. I pre-poo, deep conditioner, treatment for my hair and am okay with the way I handle my hair in mini braids
Cool! Keep doing that
Wow just beautiful 😍

How many inches did your hair grow from the challenge ? Thank you
not sure. I have no measurements before and after. just photos
Thanks so much ❤
Love it!!!🥰
Wow your hair is so beautiful 😍😍😍 love it, I took my 2months cornrows down...and like I don't know what do my hair is getting weaker and weaker so soft. What would you advise me to do please 😢
Maybe protein ?
Thank you for your response, I will try the protein treatment.
I think it will be great since we share quite a few subscribers. coilydiaries@gmail.com

what about the itching. i feel like washing my hair now but i have two months to go
I have a full video on scalp case and how I prevent itch for months
I heard okra water helps with taking down long term hair styles
Aloe has worked well for me in the past busy never tried okra🤔
I have never been tender headed until I went natural. You look great, isn’t Not wearing weaves and wigs one of the main reasons we’re doing all this work to grow our hair so we don’t wear those things?
Yes true but am not done growing my hair girl!!
Hi the is this lady from South African her RUclips name is Braided Daedam she doesn't put water on her hair, please watch her videos there's a lot to learn on her page
Thank you 🙏🏽 will look into her
I wouldn't try this cos I wouldn't like the way I'd look either. I can do 6 weeks at most. Good on you for pushing it to 8 weeks
Thank you! it was actually challenge not taking them down sooner 😅
How long did it take for you to grow to this length?
6 years 😱 so many set backs too!!
Am thinking g only oil but will try this if oil doesn’t work🌺
Aloe Vera, hair butter and hair oil.
Aloe not cause reversion, shrinkage and tangles all the same?

braids definitely last longer!!
You need to put aloe vera to moisturizer before you remove your braids
Tried in the past I prefer dry takedowns
NO i'ver never had a tender head after a take down
Love this for you!!
Take down protective styles in sections over a couple of days so relieve frustrations.
Great tip!!!
Why not braid the hair neater with cleaner parts?
I don’t like the look of braids on me 😅
