My body temp is already abnormally high, around 100F. It got messed up when I was a baby and never went back to where its supposed to be even as an adult. Worse yet, it goes up while I'm sleeping. Yes. The receptors for smell in your nose aren't uniformly distributed. Some smells are easier to detect deeper in than others. Your body's primary means of making sure that some particles get deep into your nose and others are closer to the entrance is by changing the speed at which air passes through your nostril. It does this by narrowing or widening the opening by having more or less blood pass through that side of your nose. Your body alternates which side gets which instead of just having one side be faster all the time (I think that has something to do with alternating between wide and narrow making it easier to remove blockages but I'm not positive). So, when you are sick and there's more gunk in your nose, it becomes more noticeable.

I had a dreadful night last night getting over Flu.
My stomach is in excruciating pain
So, how does this factor with shift workers? I work overnight and this has me curious.
It messes with your immune system studies show. I worked nights for a long time
@@katiekane5247 In What way? Just curious because I'm a) a lifelong night owl, and b) I've an overactive immune system that's put me into kidney failure. (Fun Fact: I have two spleens). No one has ever asked me about my sleeping habits.
@@davidhanson4909 cuz industry tries to hide the study results & modern medicine ignores such important impacts on circadian rhythms. Our bodies are naturally tuned to sleep during dark periods & repair systems then. Brain, specifically the hypothalamus, depends on regular cycles for optimum health.
I always felt better at nights. It is the morning that reboots the hell
Something tells me sun's magnetic fields kind of give you a boost and at night it is less
0:32 *The Hypothalamus is located an inch above the balls*
is this something that changes with lifestyle? as in: do people living closer to the poles, for example, have the same 4am-6pm (ish) cycle? Even during times when its just as bright outside at 4am as it is at 6pm? thank you, great video!
I feel feverish at night and have been experiencing this for the past 2 days
So if the fever activates the immune system and weakens the virus preventing it from mutating and multiplying, then why do we lower fevers??
Because sometimes the fever gets too hot and will burn your brain out. 🧠
Day 3 now in bed. Dreading nigh fevers again. Chills, fever, shakes etc and sore throat. Like electric shock spasms down my neck (fever)? Hope it goes soon ffs
how many day need for recovery..? Pls reply hope u reply soon 😢
just move to a location where night time doesn’t exist 👍🏼
Like the surface of the sun, of course!
On the surface of the sun.
wait a second
Most times that my temperature is taken, I'm at 96.8. Not sure why, but that seems to be my average. I also usually have a blood/ox level in the low 90's, even on pure oxygen. My doctors say I'm weird.
I had a nightmare and woke up crying
Why do our noses fill up with mucous while lying down when we have a cold?
Need to elevate your head
Gravity
When should I admit my self to the hospital
Great video! On another note, I have been wondering about mosquitos; how many eggs do they lay? How many of those eggs mature to adulthood? How many of those adults find a meal in the wilderness? I know it's hard to calculate, but I'm hungry for percentages, proportions, etc. Also, what is the most common food for mosquitos? I figure that may vary by area, I'm thinking the Northeast mountains (Adirondacks, Appalachians, etc.). Best!
im so sick i cant see straight and i'm being elevator-pitched on Brilliant. lmao
In my case I get almost daily fever in evening around 5-7pm this been going on for a long time actually.
Anyone have any idea why?
Any updates ?
Same here? It usually starts at 4 to 5 pm..and continue upto 3 hours..pls reply..are you cured from this? Are you alive?
I moved around over 50 times trying to find comfort 🤦🏽♂️
Who else woke up wet?
Now will be my final hours. Tell my parents I love them...
ok but why does that hypothalamus graphic look like a ballsaque
That is a very creative way to spell ballsack
Balsac.
It is 2am :’)
I hate this
Sulfite and sulphate allergies need to be discussed as a topic at some point. Lot of work Mayo put into it. Though break down literature may be better found in Canada. Awesome explanation on fevers!
Fever + hot flashes = one miserable sleeping experience.
I felt a sudden hot/cold flash in my feet as i read this.
My body is just weird, I very rarely run a fever when I'm sick. I'll have pneumonia and my "fever" is 99° f at most. Most the time I'm just a solid a 98.7° f.
Jessica Romo Me as well. I went over a decade without getting a fever no matter how awful I felt. Only the last cold I have did I finally get one again. 🤷♂️
For me, afternoons are when my fevers spike.
What??? I'm the opposite. At night, I almost feel like I'm cured, then I feel like I'm dying by morning.
Weekend noon! 😢
this happened to me when i had a fever for a week, i’d go to school and be fine and once i came home i was suddenly on my death bed
Coughs get worse at night too.
Whoa, I never knew the hypothalamus looked so pornographic.
Bro we got ballsacks in our brains, it all makes sense now
i have fever rn, and its really scary and annoying i have severe back pain and keeping waking up every hour or so with cold sweat
Hello, how are you now?
omg this is rignt bcz in the morning if i don't feel good I'll take Biogesic and after a few minutes I'll feel better but when night comes i go back to my fever 🤒
Bruh I hope this NyQuil helps tonight
I have slept 2 hours for the last 36 hours. I Get sooo hot when i go to the bed
0:31 I was not ready for brain balls.
Could you do a similar episode on variations in blood pressure? There also seems to be a circadian pattern there.
My normal temp tends to be around 96F. So my question has always been, if I suddenly go up to the traditional 98.6F do I have 2.6 degrees of fever? And if NOT, what causes that change?
Moving makes me shake, I can't sleep. I'm shivering but I'm not cold. Help
how many day need for recovery..? Pls reply hope u reply soon 😢
Olivia, did you get lasik? Just curious with eyeglasses not in evidence.
I was thinkin more along the lines of getting contacts.
My body is soar
Maybe pyrogen production is up at night because evolution was triggered by low temperatures at night.
I've been wanting to know this for ages!
