@vetrovladwindmaster1724 really wsnted to play xcom again with all these mods but cant seem to make it work... game wont open with the AML xcom stops working...
That flanking guy you lost track of was an Exalt soldier that evaced out the next turn (after double moving closer). Also, that Exalt sniper wasn't bugged or with a weird perk, they just had standard squadsight. They are on the Advent team, so any Advent/alien unit is part of the "squad" for squadsight.
@@Myomer104 I forgot about that part, and I don't have an answer for why that happened. But, he was also talking about her having squadsight as a potential bug (or part of the same bug) too.
Requiem grenade could have a niche as a priest finisher, cause it prevents sustain. Priests almost always sustain on killing blow, and their favorite thing next turn seems to be casting stasis. And since you do a lot of domination, and stasis breaks domination (and forces you to fight without a unit for a turn) it might be good to bring those on missions with many psionic enemies.
Regarding gunpoint : yes, it's a flankable enemy, not flanked enemy. This means that you'll go up to them and melee them, then stand on the position you selected, using them as high cover. If they cannot be flanked, then you'd not have any spot to sit next to them! It's a fairly powerful ability but if the enemy isn't far enough away from the rest of the group, you may leave yourself exposed to flanks. This ability requires the pistol to be used, and is a nifty stun option for those Archons!
That's such a cool ability! You're basically taking them hostage for a turn! I hope there's a follow-up ability later down the tree that transfers some damage to them, the way a Niven does, to simulate you using them like a genuine body shield. That would be the cherry on top.
I've finished a full playthrough with it, and it doesn't seem like it, no. But the ability is strong enough on it's own, ahah. You can use it and them faceoff, after all, that's strong as is
..fair point actually. I've only ever used it on advent units, so it's likely you're right, archons are immune to it. Should've been careful on what I say
Hey Mr. Odd! I'm fine I'm fine with you stating the reason for the pauses you take. Feels like you care And that squadsight thing maybe related to the ultrasonic lure bomb, we should read the description again. Good luck commander!
i think it's funny you sent grim in for being more melee focused, and then made them the melee focused mech suit. All good can't wait to see more mech troops!
I think that might have been either a bugged Battle Scanner, or a bugged Lost Lure. They both kinda reveal the map in a radius similar to the large circle of vision Deathmark was sitting in.
Maybe a bit late for this but recommend most of literature on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for those dealing with mental health issues or those wanting to improve they way they approach situations. Authors / Podcasters include Drs. James Doty, Seth Gillihan, and David Burns. Lots of do-it-yourself materials whether solo or with others. Helping me, may help you.
I think something that may be contributing unexpectedly to the campaign length is the roster size. With more troops its harder for you to level up units, and you are able to take slightly more missions which while they obviously are beneficial does make the series significantly longer. That said I LOVE IT. Don't change the roster size, I love seeing everyone's charachters, its just really cool.
I think it's more the other way around. Between the Chosen doing extra Will damage (at least the Assassin) and the large numbers of wounds the troops have been taking, soldiers are unavailable for longer percentages of time on average. That's been pushing Odd to recruit far more soldiers than usual (plus the massive number of soldier rescue missions) - we're already well past the record for number of active soldiers in a season, and we're nowhere near done yet.
As I've been saying for this past week, Odd you don't need that much Elyrium, certainly not more than Allien Alloys as you have right now (seriously a Warden armor only costs 4) , so you should sell some of it, especially since this month it goes for a premium of 5 supplies per Ellyrium at the dark market
Glad to see Duchess finally get onto a mission at the end there. She's one of your absolute top soldiers (and you know how powerful that shield/shotgun build is), but that CovOp sidelined her for SO long while all the other top soldiers got multiple missions. Probably better to reserve her for actual missions the rest of the way - sending her off the ship for weeks at a time is kind of a waste (this last CovOp lasted almost 10 full episodes).
that's war for ya! if you think what the soldiers are going through is bad, you should see what they're doing to the mechtoids lmao to be fair, at least with xcom (or at least in enemy within), they do have like a standard civilian robot body they can use to live a normal life when not meching it up =w=
FYI, I believe your will affects psi abilities (like domination) that contest your targets will. So, if your will is lower due to activations, using psi abilities, etc, you should use that one ability that drains will. That ability can be used in concealment without alerting or revealing yourself.
Great episode! Shame to see you pass over the Behemoth + Jaeger combo, together they have some truly ridiculous overwatch potential, like Sentinel on steroids. But I'm sure you'll find some other ridiculous combos too. Also, you can check potential mech classes without spending the augmentation resources. There are special mech tertiary trees depending on what primary weapon the soldier used before augmentation, keep an eye out for them, they tend to be really good. :)

As to the Requiem grenades, I too find I'm not using them often. But if you have a soldier with a perk that grants bonus charges to carried grenades, and/or salvo or some other double launch capability, remember that requiem corrosion stacks. Also, the death fog clouds really mess up enemies. If you drop one on an armored zerker, for example, it won't move until the cloud is clear... I've even been known to lob one onto where reinforcements will spawn, before they spawn...they tend to just stand still in the open where they spawn in then, too afraid to move...
To be honest, I'm surprised that this campaign does not feel long to me at all yet. Usually when we get this deep into a campaign we already tend to steamroll a bit and content becomes a bit stale. This time though, that's not at all the case. Really enjoying the twists and turns, especially the new Requiem enemies are so good!

I'm curious why Odd chose not to take ghost grenade. It seems like the opportunity to conceal everyone (or almost everyone) would be incredibly useful. Just as an example, sending a soldier with a ghost grenade would allow you to send pretty much anyone on a mission with a high ambush chance.
Do we have a rule now thats says no more evac-ing exalt units? Couldve totally dropped an evac on the old man unit. And even if the evac wasnt succeful its free AP Great mission overall tho commander. A flawless mission in my eyes as there wasnt any moves i thought were bad or any misplays
Think it just didn't occur to Odd. He rarely talks about evacing EXALT, so I presume he files it away as an end-of-mission nice-to-have. Ironically, it would have been a tactically sound idea here, because I think the bleeding out EXALT soldier gave squadsight to Deathmark in the back, allowing her to take a shot at XCOM.
Can you capture the Exalted Mec's like the other exalt units? I've got henry Blackbird wilson in my playthrough, and he is a proper problem. his build is so good I want him! anyone know?
i'm confused why he insists on using ino to scout - and not just on this mission - when her detection signature tend to be a good bit bigger than various scouting types.
I wonder if there is a relationship between campaign length and you very rarely doing story related things? Your tac missions are going fine, prioritizing guns over story could be viewed as you intentionally lengthening the campaign. Which is fine, just own it.
Why do you never execute or evac exalt units? Its extra AP and stops them from levelling up and getting more powerful. Its kind of irritating that as soon as they're in bleed out mode you just leave them alone every single time.
