She released her "Old Enough" EP a few months ago with 6 originals. She also released a single "Our Time" which is being used in a commercial for the finance company SoFi. She is the singing voice for the 2026 World Cup. On December 11, 2023, she performed at the Nobel Peace Prize concert with a stunning version of "Unchained Melody". Very important to understand the background for that performance. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

How about checking out the two songs the performed a few months back at the MTV VMA awards? The song “More” is a funky/poppy/rocky tune and “Evolve” is pure hard rock. Both tunes blew away a crowd who for the most part didn’t know who they were going in.
Yes, Check them out! A lot has happened since you saw them last. They toured 9 shows with Muse last year in Mexico and Europe. They also opened a couple shows with Guns N Roses. Both of the live performances at the MTV VMA show were great. Back in August, 2022 they did two shows at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City which were pro-shot and recorded. All the songs are great.

She recently filmed a new movie to be released later this year (hopefully), which is written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and includes an absolutely star-studded cast, including: Adam Driver, Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Place, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker and others.

Comparing Angelina to Amy Winehouse is superficial. Everyone does it but if you listen to her voice and look past the hair it's much different. I love Amy. She had a tone that was much more nasal than Angelina. It was her style the way it was part of Aretha's style. A much better comparison to Angelina would be Ella, Sarah Vaughan, or even Big Mama Thornton. Billie. But everyone falls into Amy because that is the only singer they can think of who drew on female jazz and blues singers. Their tones are much more different. Angelina has a growl and a vibrato different than Amy. IMO, it's a lazy comparison unless you're only talking about hair and dress. Congratulations on the twins. Buckle up and hang on!
