What kind of wood do you use? Been having trouble with that
So underrated
I greatly agree
Do you free hand draw onto the wood or use a device to trace it?
What kind of saw is this you using?
I am new at this hobby so I don't want to ask a crazy question....but I have been spending lots of money buying wooden cut outs online and I would like to try my hand at cutting my own .....okay I need a jigsaw, sand paper ,my pattern what else......power tools scare me this wood (lol) be first attempt.... seriously what kind of wood...I am cutting out fruit, flowers, heart nothing big like yours
Well if i’m being honest, it was a while ago so I can’t tell you the exact name of the wood I used, BUT i can sum it up for you. What i used in the video is basically just plywood but with a much smoother finish.
There are different kinds based on how many layer of plywood are stacked and glued together. So i would suggest for a project like yours.. that you stick to a thinner version.
What I noticed while working with it; when you start to get down to the smaller details, the wood starts to chip no matter how sharp the jigsaw blade is.
So because you’re working at a smaller scale I suggest a thickness less than a half inch thick.
Sorry for the long answer but to sum it up:
-smooth finish plywood
-less than a 1/2 inch thick
-jigsaw for cutting curves
-circular saw for straight lines (completely optional)
-T-Square for measurements and planning straight lines
-coarse and fine grit sandpaper
-damp rag to wipe wood clean of dust before painting
-command strips for hanging
-acrylic paint
-clear coat sealer to protect paint
You need to prime your boards
what paint do you use?
What kind of wood did you use ?
You’re super talented!!
