I'm 52. This song was blasting out of some window of the dorm I was assigned to my freshman year of college in 1986. With my first arm load of crap in hand, the elevator doors opened on the 8th floor. It was pretty obvious from the volume that Roundabout was being played from somewhere on that floor. The closer I got to room 817, the louder it got. When I got to 817, I found the source of the music, my first roomie, and the first of many unauthorized gatherings we would host that year. Virtually every Yes song is a beautiful work of complex storytelling as opposed to the ubiquitous formulaic writing... verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-verse-chorus-refrain... lyrics of yeah yeah yeah, baby baby baby, blah blah blah. With Yes you can listen over and over and catch new things you previously missed.
Its no bizarre reason, the most of todays mainstream music aint that great. Sometimes u have a really nice number from some older rock band who are still releasing rock music etc. And also some top50 hits are great. But most of them we forget in about 3-6 months. Edit: There are some awesome new upcoming bands aswell ;)

Hi Sina, I was 22 years old and still a guest of "UNCLE SAM" in California when this song hit the air waves and your cover of it still sends chills up and down my spine just as it did all those many years ago and the fire and electricity is defiantly still there if not a little bit more so!!! I can't emphasize enough how amazed I am that someone such as yourself chooses to memorialize so many rock songs and other genres from the era especially here in the 21st century!!! Another of your more recent covers "WAR" by "Edwin Starr" came at a time when it was needed most, THANK YOU!!! That song was played more during that time (VIET NAM ERA) than any other protest song that I can remember!! You my dear have a very intense passion for music and it shows, not only your choice of music but the way you preform them!!! I also can't say enough about your "ORIGINALS" and "COLLABORATIONS" which hold a very special place in my heart!!! But let's not forget your most recent adventures....the latest tour you have embarked on. I was able to catch the clips on "RUclips" and your "INNER CIRCLE BLOG" I just wish to GOD I could be there for all of them!!! Once again wonderful job on "ROUNDABOUT" I will be adding it to my collection and patiently wait for your next post (PLEASE GET SOME REST and RELAXE FOR AWHILE BEFORE DOING SO!!!) Until next time: "STAY SAFE" "STAY STRONG" "LOVE YA"
Sina, there are five musicians who want to thank you for your wonderful drum cover of “Roundabout” by Yes, and that’s Jon Anderson (vocals), Rick Wakeman (keyboards), Steve Howe (guitar), Chris Squire (bass), and Bill Bruford (drums). This incredible art-rock band was all about the albums but “Roundabout” was their first Top-40 single from 1973. Those guys would be so proud of you, especially Bill Bruford. Don’t you dare give up on your dreams. That kind of talent comes along just once in a blue moon.
Rick Wakeman said about Chris Squire: “Chris was one of those rare musicians that pretty much refused to be influenced. He was the ‘influencer,’ if there is such a word. He treated the bass guitar as more than just propping up the bottom end, and truly considered it to be a lead instrument that deserved recognition, and that’s what he gave the instrument.” - Bill Bruford's drum parts are indeed not easy to play, but you can do that. Great video!
Standing ovation, and unending applause for your excellence! This was phenomenal! Thank you for playing so very well, and for sharing with us all to see, hear, and acknowledge your amazing talent.
YES! What a display of versatility on a very difficult track. The more videos I view I always get that same wow invigorating energy and true appreciation of your ability. Brilliant 😊
I really, really like this, Sina. You are obviously applying an insane amount of concentration but you frequently crack a little smile. You are happy with your performance and you should be. You give classics a new lease on life. I love you and I thank you for providing these great covers.
Thank you Sina! Just thank you. You’re bringing up important music that should be timeless but has gotten lost somewhere in the ripples of today’s innumerable challenges....love what you’re doing
Amazing girl. Just amazing. I start my day off with at least one of your covers. I'm 76 and. Still rockin hard. Much love and thanks for sharing your gift with us
I watch the videos for the music and to see a real drummer at work; the camera angles are fascinating to a non-drummer like me. But the fact is, Sina's smiles are just so cute.
She does the patented Sina Smile in every video she does. It's so darn endearing. What she does looks effortless to her and brings her great joy. It's what she was made to do.
Tony Rey Good point, don’t forget having their heads examined! I drummed a bit, worked with a ton of bands but I’ve never seen this level of talent in one so young.
Sina, you do for real what I imagine myself doing whenever I listen to these songs you cover. I'm an insufferable air drummer. But even in my wildest imagination I have no talent compared to you. Thank you for the joy your videos give me.
Just ridiculous! The joy, contentment, and bliss in her face makes these videos so much more fun to watch. I can't get enough of her. The newest addition to my list of favorite drummers.
I'am 61,and still listing to these masterpieces. Realy Sina you have done a great job. You are on your way, keep going, Stay roundabout with Yes, and keep going, no matter what. Greatings Rainer.
In my younger days I used to play this song with my band. Sina, you are right, Chris Squire was a monster. For me, top three on my list of bass players. Not only he played out of this world but playing and singing all those parts live was a thing of beauty. I had the fortune to see them three times. Unforgettable. Also, the band changed many times but the only constant was Chris until the day he passed away. You do a fantastic job, not that it is something you haven't heard before. Keep up the good work, you have great things coming your way and thank you for keeping this music alive. I just wished more young people would listen to this band and all the others from that era. The real "Progressive Rock."
Sina, Your Absolutely Amazing. Roundabout is Expert material and you played it perfectly with finesse and expertise. Your one of my favorite and inspirationaldrummers. Your Absolutely Beautiful and just an inspiration to me and So many others. Great Job
Thank you for this. I've been a Yes fan all my life, but seeing this gave me a fresh perspective on a classic song. It also highlights how each member's individual genius contributes to the cohesive whole. Amazing playing and work!
I'm exhausted but can't stop watching this amazing woman playing some of the most technical and demanding drum covers of our age. Simply astounding the range, skill, and courage she has to attack these iconic pieces. Watching her laugh as she completes a challenging passage.... brilliant!!
Well done! Was fortunate enough to see Yes w/Bill Bruford twice. Yes album and Fragile tours. They were never the same after he left. One of the greats!
Sina, very excellent job! Being a drummer for 45+ years and having seen Yes a few times live, I'd say you're about ready to sit in with them! Keep up the good work! Gotta love classic prog rock!
What a sneaky difficult tune. Hats off to Sina because this is NOT a simple rhythm. Great band, Yes. Amazing times back then. Every week a new band that just blew minds.
The journey through a masterpiece of music so well represented points to the honorable genius of YES. You pulled me in with your expressive focus..thank you...will tell other's of you.
First thing: I love that the little smile made it. More importantly: for a beat-keeper to handle all the tempo changes in Roundabout is not only a tribute to Buford but to Sina. Yay! Short of freeform jazz, brilliant! Make more of it so!!

Bill Buford is a excellent drummer I have followed him on many projects and saw him on tour with Genesis and Yes . Thank you Sina for the drum cover you are awesome 😎
Sina, an incredible job on this technically difficult song. I'm so amazed that you can play it this well from just listening to it. That is an amazing skill. Thanks for mentioning Bill Bruford, so now people have heard his name who had no idea who he is. Props for giving the original drummer proper credit. You make Fridays fun!
Joe Townsend it's the only skill. If you had to read this stuff it means you have no skill, or are getting paid to do a production with a different arrangement.
It was said that Mozart was a guy who could hear something once and then play it back, note perfect. IMO, that is *really* skillful. Whatever "it" is, Sina has it.
I was being sarcastic. ....Of course she does as 100% of drummers playing "cover songs" do. ....Even drummers that write rarely write the drummers every strike - they do however have many "notations" within it.
BASS & DRUMS one of the best BUFORD & SQUIRE !!! Keep playing music with substance and quality will only make you better & a master of the DRUMS. We all started covering the greats !
Completely brilliant! Lightness of touch , all the breaks and timings spot on as far as I could tell. Sina seems to rise to an even higher level when drumming Progressive stuff, guess she must really like the complex stuff :-)
Bill Brufford would proud for this tribute, knowing this new generation of young musitians keep an amount of patience to listen yes, one of the greatest band ever, Nice work Sina!
When you see her smile, yeah its awesome, but yeah she's feeling she's nailing it but all through the song she shows an appreciation and pure joy of the music she is replicating. Her attention to detail and just love for this style of music is great. If you had a playlist of all her songs her playing dam....you got something special.
This is the video that dropped me out of my usual procedures, turned me on and tuned me into Sina Drums about a year ago. I’ve been an ardent fan since then. Lucky me :)
@@tituslawoffice4778 As does/did Bruford (learn rapidly). I was at a concert (a one-man show, actually) in the 80s with someone who had been in the group, Gong. Their record company had hired Bruford to drum for them. The gentleman (can't recall his name) said that Bruford had learned their (Gong's) entire set in one in one afternoon, and thereafter played it exactly the same every time. The previous drummer, he said, had spent something like four months learning their set, playing a little different each time.
@@swordedaffair I agree. Many very good musicians can learn a song quickly. My son, who is now a music producer in Nashville, could hear a song for the first time when he was 13 or 14 and could play the basic melody right away and within an hour play the song like a pro. Sina has said that she can do the same thing, except for Keith Moon where she channels the feeling.

Wow -- you were great on Roundabout Sina! Your regard for Bill Bruford's career in Yes (and King Crimson), as well as Chris Squire's bass playing plus your mastery of this song earns you high praise indeed! I saw Bill with both Yes and Crimson, plus Chris (10 tours). You do them proud Sina 😇
A very iconic group who made some very progressive music! Thanks, Sina for doing this. It's one of my favs. Really? 1100 people DIDN'T like this? What's up with THAT??!!
I play guitar, but the syncopation in parts of this song seem like it would be so difficult to play on drums. I always think of YES songs as being so tight and precise and this is an amazing cover. Well done!
So glad to see a young woman playing the drums with passion. Very well done, Bill Bruford is one of my Idols. Too many kids look to Pro Tools nowadays for everything...
Or an Akai MPC / Ableton live with a bunch of of samples. Today’s music is all about drum computers and samplers. Allthough Yes have used a fairlight CMI on their most successfull record... Even my old drum teachers uses an ableton push to compose ideas on and he’s a classically trained musican/composer. I guess it the technology isn’t a problem per se, but how it’s used.
This just popped up in my feed. I've been listening to Yes and Roundabout since the late 70's. This was truly awesome. Sina, incredible job, I look forward to watching your other videos.
Best drumming I've ever seen. Phenomenal! Yes was one of my favorite groups growing up, loved listening to them on headphones. Thank you Sina, really enjoyed seeing your look of pure joy as you played!
The bass and drums of this are among my favorites. You are a born natural drummer. If you learn to read Drum Clef you will have a job for life. My friend worked the Vegas, Reno and Tahoe scene for his entire life. Back in the 60's and 70's there were no young drummers that could hear and play like you. You NAILED Roundabout I am so inspired when I hear you perform. Wow.
You're a great drummer. You said something in the comments: you never realized how important the base was to the song. That got me thinking: Chris Squires bass was a complement John Anderson's voice. Squire played the heavy bass. Anderson had a high voice. They complemented each other very well.
The bass playing makes the drumming sound far more complicated than it is. Chris Squire was amazing, and so is Bill Bruford. The old Yes recordings are wondrous things and I'm glad I was around when they first hit the shops.
Yes! (pun intended) Knocked the stuffing out of that one Sina! Caught the essence of Bruford's part while coming up with an inspired syncopation for that tricky middle section. Yes, agreed, Chris Squire was a monster on the bass and his part was the essence of that song. Even as a drummer I'm more often tempted to play air bass to this than air drums :-). Anyway, most enjoyable Sina. Epic drumming for an epic song!

I'm so glad young people are listening to Yes
Seconded.
drumsandcymbals1968 There's a very bizarre reason for that
Its no bizarre reason, the most of todays mainstream music aint that great. Sometimes u have a really nice number from some older rock band who are still releasing rock music etc. And also some top50 hits are great. But most of them we forget in about 3-6 months.
Edit: There are some awesome new upcoming bands aswell ;)
hell im 14 and I enjoy Yes beter than the crap the industry hastily pushes for the money
mhammad alloush wow dude im 14 too but your use of words is incredible, especially for your age!
Sina! Du bist wunderschön!!! Tolle Trommelleistung!!! Das ist fantastisch!!! Schwierige Komposition auf einem Schlagzeug zu spielen!!! Sina! Du hast super gespielt!!! Herzlichen Dank!! Du hast ein sehr schönes Lächeln!!!!! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️♥️♥️💘💘💘🥁🥁🥁🎶🎶🎶
Sina, you and your music bring joy across the Atlantic Ocean. Thank you.
Squire, Entwistle, and Lee, three giants of the bass.
We only have Lee now, and he's retired.
@@Gunners_Mate_Guns But he really earned it:)
@@la196 Oh, no doubt.
The thing that I've always loved about Rush is how mature all three members are/were, with not an oversized ego in the group.
@@Gunners_Mate_Guns and lee is a fan of both entwistle and squire.
@@SoneNando Anyone who appreciates bass virtuosity is a fan of Ox and Squire.
Standing ovation, and unending applause for your excellence! This was phenomenal!
Thank you for playing so very well, and for sharing with us all to see, hear, and acknowledge your amazing talent.
Thanks Sina. One of my favorite bands and drummer. Great chops.
Beautiful work. I agree Chris Squire was and will always be a incredible bass player, for all time......
Beatiful :) Keep up the GREAT work kid!
Much love and thanks for sharing your gift with us
she is having a blast playing this, just look at that happy smile @ 7:00 something. Great job Sina....!!
If I could play drums like she does, I'd be smiling too.
Girl is having a BALL.
It's SO SO SO COOL ~ !
I watch the videos for the music and to see a real drummer at work; the camera angles are fascinating to a non-drummer like me.
But the fact is, Sina's smiles are just so cute.
Yes she definitely having a blast
She does the patented Sina Smile in every video she does. It's so darn endearing.
What she does looks effortless to her and brings her great joy.
It's what she was made to do.
Brilliant song, brilliant album. ( fragile. ). Perfect drumming. 10/10. I all ways wanted to see how it was done. Brilliant. 🥁🥁🎶👏👏👏💕😊👍
This girl is absolutely incredible. Every one of those thousand people who have downvoted this video need to reevaluate their lives.
Tony Rey Good point, don’t forget having their heads examined! I drummed a bit, worked with a ton of bands but I’ve never seen this level of talent in one so young.
This girl's mad skills make them angry.
Simp
They are just 3% of responders. Absolutely everything on RUclips gets some haters
Well in general those that dispute skills have none" So it is out of rage & jealousy that they refuse to see there own downfalls as a musician"""
Sina, you do for real what I imagine myself doing whenever I listen to these songs you cover. I'm an insufferable air drummer. But even in my wildest imagination I have no talent compared to you. Thank you for the joy your videos give me.
Incredible.
Sina, you're all the greats, rolled into one!
Amazing talent, great taste in music.
Thank You.
Just ridiculous! The joy, contentment, and bliss in her face makes these videos so much more fun to watch. I can't get enough of her. The newest addition to my list of favorite drummers.
I'am 61,and still listing to these masterpieces. Realy Sina you have done a great job. You are on your way, keep going,
Stay roundabout with Yes, and keep going, no matter what. Greatings Rainer.
Rainer Rustenberg really has two l's by the way
Rainer Rustenberg muy buena
I'm 70 . . . for now. 'Pon listening, still tear up each day 'cos I wanna squeeze in a billion more masterpieces afore I dies.
Grew up on this!
Try to find some recordings of Squackett, Chris Squire's last recordings with Steve Hackett, from the classic days of Genesis.
chris make me wanna rick 4001!
Sina, Your Absolutely Amazing. Roundabout is Expert material and you played it perfectly with finesse and expertise. Your one of my favorite and inspirationaldrummers. Your Absolutely Beautiful and just an inspiration to me and So many others. Great Job
*you're
This young lady absolutly rocks. been binge watching her videos for a couple days, outstanding. Bravo.
I'm in love ... a gift and sure much hard work invested in this work of art (practice, practice, and then ... more practice).
Excellent job! One of my favorite songs for almost 50 years!
Sina, very excellent job! Being a drummer for 45+ years and having seen Yes a few times live, I'd say you're about ready to sit in with them! Keep up the good work! Gotta love classic prog rock!
I started 2022 off right by watching this on the first day. One of the greatest performances ever!
What a sneaky difficult tune. Hats off to Sina because this is NOT a simple rhythm. Great band, Yes. Amazing times back then. Every week a new band that just blew minds.
Lucky someone plays my music again!she's an amazing drummer!
The journey through a masterpiece of music so well represented points to the honorable genius of YES. You pulled me in with your expressive focus..thank you...will tell other's of you.
She rock's only the best... It is so cool to see the younger generation really appreciating true music, and the musical talent of the past...
First thing: I love that the little smile made it. More importantly: for a beat-keeper to handle all the tempo changes in Roundabout is not only a tribute to Buford but to Sina. Yay! Short of freeform jazz, brilliant! Make more of it so!!
This proves this young lady has skills that most people only dream of
Very technical song never heard it played as a cover the off beats were flawless, amazing drummer anyone who gave it a thumbs down is a wanker.

Just a fluke I came across Sina some time ago. Hard to explain what her music, both covers and new, have done for me. And that smile literally melts my heart! 👍❤️😎
What do you mean by " I'm so amazed that you can play it this well from just listening to it. "??
JD Gragg meaning she plays it by ear
I saw Yes in LA back in 77. Wow, what a song! Beautiful drumming 💙
Bill Brufford would proud for this tribute, knowing this new generation of young musitians keep an amount of patience to listen yes, one of the greatest band ever, Nice work Sina!
✌💪👍
When you see her smile, yeah its awesome, but yeah she's feeling she's nailing it but all through the song she shows an appreciation and pure joy of the music she is replicating. Her attention to detail and just love for this style of music is great. If you had a playlist of all her songs her playing dam....you got something special.
This is the video that dropped me out of my usual procedures, turned me on and tuned me into Sina Drums about a year ago. I’ve been an ardent fan since then. Lucky me :)
Dear Sina, just turned 18. And playing this masterpiece ! No words 🌷
Awesome! To try and cover Bill Bruford is no small thing. One o the best drummers of all time. Keep it up.....
Try ? , i think she succeeded no ?
I have yet to see anyone comment on her memory which, as for me, I find to be the most astounding part of all that she does.
Why I don’t understand
@@s00n64 She learns new pieces so quickly
@@tituslawoffice4778 As does/did Bruford (learn rapidly). I was at a concert (a one-man show, actually) in the 80s with someone who had been in the group, Gong. Their record company had hired Bruford to drum for them. The gentleman (can't recall his name) said that Bruford had learned their (Gong's) entire set in one in one afternoon, and thereafter played it exactly the same every time. The previous drummer, he said, had spent something like four months learning their set, playing a little different each time.
Sina has said that she spends about 10 hours over 2 or 3 days to learn, play, and post a video. Her dad spends about the same time editing.
Absolut sauber gespielt wie machst Du das ?
Allein die Tempi Wahnsinn. So etwas lernt man nicht das hat man. Alles Glück dieser Welt für Dich und Deine Musik. Spitze.
I'm 60 getting back in touch with my music and my Drums I love watching Sina such a great drumer I'm even learning more from her thanks Sina your Awesome
Wonderful job! You are exceptionally talented. I'd really like to see you cover more Progressive Rock! Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into your videos.
Not just amazing talent... your love and passion for the music and the joy of playing really shine from you!
Sina, you're really great. Great job. Bill Bruford is a legendary monster of drumming. Congrats. I'd like to see you playing Freefall by Camel. A nice drumming piece. It would be great to see you performing it.
Can't say it enough, I enjoy and love your joy and enthusiasm...and the respect you give to those who rocked the airwaves when music was still music - not the garbage (that all sounds alike) it is today. Thank you, Miss Sina, for sharing your wonderful gifts and taking us along on this ride called ART.

Your fun personality and your love for music and drumming comes through loud and clear !!!!!!
I always knew this kid was good, im definitely a fan now! Look forward to seeing her climb to the top of the mountain. You go girl !!
As always a delightful sight and sound with her drum cover. She has the talent I hope she gets into a very good band
Yes, yes, yes! Without compromises, Sina for president(in). Danke
You Sina are incredible! Perfectly and professionally well done! Love every time you put out a new song! You amaze me every time! 💗💗💗
I have run out of mere words to tell you how happy your drumming makes me!!! Amazing and wonderful!! Thank you Sina!!
I play guitar, but the syncopation in parts of this song seem like it would be so difficult to play on drums. I always think of YES songs as being so tight and precise and this is an amazing cover. Well done!
Closed my eyes and listened. Didn't notice a difference. You made me happy Sina.
Can’t believe you pulled that off Sina the most technical sophisticated Yes track of all time
Wow, Sina is amazing. I’m 54 and it’s delightful watching this girl playing great and complicated music.
J Antonio Espindola from Mexico
Jose Antonio Espindola You're right! Thx my generation 👍 greetings from Belgrade
So glad to see a young woman playing the drums with passion. Very well done, Bill Bruford is one of my Idols. Too many kids look to Pro Tools nowadays for everything...
Richard Briggs p900
Or an Akai MPC / Ableton live with a bunch of of samples. Today’s music is all about drum computers and samplers. Allthough Yes have used a fairlight CMI on their most successfull record... Even my old drum teachers uses an ableton push to compose ideas on and he’s a classically trained musican/composer. I guess it the technology isn’t a problem per se, but how it’s used.
This just popped up in my feed.
I've been listening to Yes and Roundabout since the late 70's.
This was truly awesome.
Sina, incredible job, I look forward to watching your other videos.
The best renditions, of the best music, by a true pro...and pretty easy on the eye, as well! Keep going with these videos!
Wow.
I love when she smiles. She is really enjoying herself and the music... I'll be laughing too... I'll be with you... dahda dahh da bup.
Incredible to watch this..... and none of this is just 4/4 shit lol omg so so talented brought tears to my aging eyes !
Great Job Sina! Absolutely excellent!Love it! Thanks for sharing it! Love and Peace!
Sina GETS IT .... what a wonderful tribute to Classic Rock she continuously offers us .... Good On You Sina ! Mike from Canada !
I really appreciate these tribute performances you make, which require a really high level of skill.
Saw Yes three times...Thank you for covering them...OMG Chris Squire!
You're a great drummer.
You said something in the comments: you never realized how important the base was to the song.
That got me thinking: Chris Squires bass was a complement John Anderson's voice.
Squire played the heavy bass. Anderson had a high voice. They complemented each other very well.
What I love about this performance is how many times you smile. It infects me because I know you are enjoying this as much as I do.
The bass playing makes the drumming sound far more complicated than it is. Chris Squire was amazing, and so is Bill Bruford. The old Yes recordings are wondrous things and I'm glad I was around when they first hit the shops.
absolutely wonderous
yes, now she is older and more desirable, but she is no sheila e
chris squire was a killer bass player , bill bruford was killer also , the dynamic between the two on this is fantastic
It was wonderful to see them at Wembley Empire Pool Tomato tour
Bravo!! This song has such difficult time shifts that require an expert ear to recognize and uncommon talent to perform. Wonderful performance!!
