I honestly fail to see how this is a killer for anything. The only "selling point" is the integration into your "workflow". But it mainly fails on every other aspect that either a cloud or a NAS should give you: scalability, accessibility, (access)control etc pp. - It would be much more useful to put the effort into optimizing the integration of a "real" NAS into the workflow, then to just re-invent the wheel from my point of view. But maybe i'm just wrong or at least my assumptions are. Aside from that, the video itself is a nice short/crisp spotlight for the Cloud Store Mini, so great job :)
Thanks for your feedback :) yes as said there are a lot of missed opportunities here but I think if Blackmagic could update this device it would be amazing
Will it connect straight into the atem device and record the stream directly to the storage device. Then access the recording cloud based from anywhere?
There's plenty of these all flash nas little guys, but if you get one from a nas brand you'll get that entire great interface with all the software. I like qnap's zfs based qts hero. Plus, calling 8tb a nas killer is a joke. Put 150tb in it then we'll talk
I actually like this product. I would like a simple storage device which can connect via USB/Thunderbolt and also serve SMB, and has a fast NIC. My main issues are lack of expandability and it being stuck on RAID 0. If one SSD goes then it's a brick unless it can be fixed (warranty?). The other issue is the price I'm seeing - over 2k GBP in some stores (though 1400 at Wex Photo).
@@pauleporterdp I got a notification, read the title and gave it a chance. It's not my fault this product is what it is, because it's not a "NAS Killer".
Modern NAS is not just storage anymore. This media server, cloud sync, disrupted backup, and overall small all purpose device. So no that thing either not NAS killer or review is missing key functions.
seriously, " I can hear it running" so it's an external ssd with internet accessibility via WiFi? It's massive..the old WD externals had FTP. "if any drive dies its dead" That's not a very good NAS since most NAS can have redundancy. It's definitely a killer...hahahha
NAS KILLER is misleading, it's just a hard drive with Wi-Fi capability
It's especially misleading considering another community previously created several NAS build guides with the name NAS KILLER
Thanks for your feedback
Thanks for this 😉

Google "NAS KILLER" and see what comes up. Hint: It isn't this!

Great video 😊
Thank you so much
I thought this was about the new Ghostface Killah and Nas single, but good know Blackmagic has a storage device for my BMPCC 4K footage…
Thanks for watching
Well played man. Comparing a NAS to this garbage is insane. But the clickbait worked a 100%
Thanks for watching

Yes that works.

I totally agree. Thanks for watching :)
If I bought two, and had them at different locations will they sync themselves?
Are they connected to the same WiFi ?
I like my Nas wired with a 60 Tb storage
Thanks for your feedback :)
Expensive and directed towards people that don't know what a NAS is, like the guy in the video.
There is no need to hate here. I used a NAS from Synology for years and have a good understanding of this entire system

I don't trust security on products I've never heard of before.
But you heard from Blackmagic before?
@@pauleporterdp Sorry I have not.
