Ingenious hole jig - thanks! I had an engineer friend make me a metal template to make all the holes for my 17 die, but your jig would have saved me a lot of time & hassle.
Fantastic! The spaces are the hole alignment makes me think this is a doable project. I couldn’t imagine using templates or punching to drill each one after seeing this.
great video, i just got into woodworking i have made 2 crates, 1 was from Steve Ramsey the other was one i did free style, a bench top for my push sticks push blocks and frame strap i only made 2 die so far, that's all i had laying around plus it was pressure treated, i ha dan idea for the numbers, on a leftover piece i was thinking caulk or even flex seal, i am trying the caulk then the more i thought about it i an thinking the caulk will get dirty.great video. i am thinking about a wood template out of plywood then just set on die then drill, i don't have a drill press yet.
Super job! I especially liked the catch for the dowel cuts. It's a simple thing to set up, but I certainly wouldn't have thought of it. I'd be chasing discs all over. ^_^
Thanks, I had to chase a few discs but the tray was a big help :-)

Just found this awesome video. How deep did you drill the holes and did you push the dowels all the way in? I'd be worried about the glue pouring out! I need to buy a few tools for this. Thanks!
I drilled the holes about 1/2 inch deep, and pushed the dowels all the way in. As long as it's a relatively snug fit, you shouldn't have to worry about glue or anything falling out
Best video for making these blocks and keeping the dots consistent on all pieces. Thanks for sharing.
The offset block for drilling and the catch tray for the dowels are genius!
+Make Build Modify Thanks, working out the jigs was the fun part :-)
Agreed, simple and accurate
That’s a lot of detail work, but they turned it great. Several great tips in the video that I’ll be recycling. Great job Ben.
+ManCraftingTM Thanks Chad
Best looking yard dice i have seen. Nice work
These are beautiful!!!
What a great gift idea!!
A fantastic example of setting up fixtures for doing a bulk job.
Thanks, working out the fixtures was the fun part
Great method for lining up the holes on the drill press without having to measure every single piece
I struggled last night to figure out the best way to make some dice. Thanks for the info!
I absolutely love it

Nice looking dice. thanks for sharing.
Great video. Wish I saw it last week as I spent a couple hours perfecting a template.
Thank you! I have been marking each die for drilling, that use of 1" spacers is very cool.
Awesome video
wow that is amazing - I also like the 1" spacers
Nice. Liked the simple alignment jig and dowel cutting jig.
Thank you
It’s been a while but no one congratulated you on that perfect music timing. Awesome job!

Yep, trying to line up all those holes would annoying really fast, totally worth spending time to work out easy to use jigs.
Ok that circle cutting setup was pretty dope
Thank you
That is some primo grade-A jigging to get those all aligned properly. They look great!
Thanks!
Really smart work, Ben! And, now you're ready for summer.
Thanks Charlie! For now they work well on carpet :-)

Could we use sawdust and CA glue for the inlays?
Awesome video.. what size router bit you use?
Thanks, I think it was a 1/4" radius roundover bit
What diameter are the dowels?

Thanks! I’m going to give this a try. I just need to add to my tool library so it will have to wait until this pandemic lightens up!
What wood did u use to make these Great idea!!!!
Looking to make these but a shorter process
What finishing spray/paint do you use?
What size are the dowels?
What did you spray the dice with before adding the poly?
I think it was spray lacquer. It seemed to soak up lots of finish so I was trying a couple different things.
And now.. we all know how mass production works. *cool*
Festool? Why so _fancy,_ sir? Undeniably awesome result though :D
Yes, fancy and high quality, though I'm too cheap to spend that much. This one was gifted to me and I am very thankful :-)
How about a set of dice for backyard D&D?
Maybe someday, anything besides a 6-sided die gets tricky :-)
What size are the holes and dowels?
5/8" if I remember correctly
Ben what you made and how you made them was Fantastic, I suppose the question is why did you make so many??? 😱😱😱. Cheers Sean
Thanks, I made several sets as Christmas gifts
