I'm currently doing a replay of the halo franchise and I'm finding that reach had great writing. Things that I did not fully grasp as a child stand out.. conclusion being what an amazing game..
By the end, Noble Six gave their life unable to know if their end was worth something, but in an ironic contrast to Jorge's, their's had saved all of Humanity, and led to the very war's end.
Reach's soundtrack has a lot of recurring themes, particularly the one here. And yet it always feels different. At least if you've played the game's campaign.
"Well, I've got good news, and bad news. The bird took some fire and her thruster gimbal is toast, meaning the only way off this slag heap is gravity." "And the good news?" "...that was the good news. Bad news is; timer's fried. I'm gonna have to fire it manually." "That's a one way trip." "We all make it sooner or later. Better get going, six, they're gonna need you down there." "Listen, reach has been good to me. Times come to return the favor. Don't deny me this" *while taking off his dog tags and giving them to six* *Tell them to make it count*
What saddens me the most is to think that the modern Halo games lack this: Feeling, passion, good storytelling... This game resonates so much, even after all these years.
Jorge: Better get going, Six. They'll need you. *Jorge takes off his dog tags and gives them to Six* Jorge: Listen. Reach has been good to me. Time to return the favor. Don't deny me this. *Jorge picks up Six and carries him to the hanger entrance* Jorge: Tell them to make it count. *With that, Jorge lets go of Six, letting the SPARTAN fall. Jorge proceeds to manually fire the ship's laser into the Covenant fleet, making the ultimate sacrifice to save the lives of many. Noble Six helplessly watches as he continues his descent back down to Reach*
Jorge didn't fire a laser. He set off a slip space drive core which is a engine that makes faster than light travel possible so he basically creates a wormhole that a ship travels through but in this case it's used to tear the covenant super carrier in half.
I feel like Jorge new somehow that more were coming. I dont really have any idea he could know that but its just my opinion. Maybe when he said "make it count" , he knew that more were coming so when he said make it count he was talking on how he destroyed this one and helped them out
GOODBYE! THANK YOU FOR THE RIDE! YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND AND I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU! YOU PROBABLY CAN'T HEAR ME THOUGH BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THERE'S NO OXYGEN ON ROLLER COASTERS! I am yelling quieter now because I am further away form you!
Hi, Could you upload the music where the Pillar of Autumn ship takes off please? I know that it sounds similar to this, but there are some differences between them. Thanks mate.
Hey I know this video is super old, and that comment is 8 months old but I'm also looking for the song that plays on the Pillar of Autumn's take-off. Something about it definitely sounds more epic than this version

1:21 I've always liked that part, where the music becomes noticeably more somber when the bomb explodes. It signifies that Jorge is gone.
I like it sounds a little sad, makes the moment more touching
Thanks for pointing that out - the lower tones all pretty much go away at that exact moment.
Never noticed that in the original cutscene.
I always liked how Jorge was so nice and sacrificing himself was kinda sad and when the music came in it made it sadder RIP Jorge
Yeah... the weight of that sacrifice can be felt. Really.
This also plays when Carter sacrifices himself during 'The Pillar of Autumn.'
That piece is similar but a bit louder, there are more instruments playing.
@@TheHypochrisy I can't find that piece anywhere! Do you know where I can get it? (Or just the name)

I would say it's literally the same track as this, but the engines roaring is what gives it more "oomf." But I may be wrong.
