  • In this video I sandblast loading shovel arms and bucket with crushed glass media fine + 0.4 / 1.4 probably would have got away with a fine for a slightly faster cut

    Mick what are you using when you blast these things and are you working to a spec or are you just cleaning prior to paint?....are you using a straight nozzle, A Venture would give you a better blast pattern and probably double your productivity on larger substrate jobs.

    Do you have to treat the metal afterwards to stop it from rusting?

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  3 года назад +1

      Yeah send it in for paint haha this customer normally puts these in the workshop for the night and paint it the following day. If freshly blasted steel is kept dry it will last as long as it stays dry but the humidity in the air starts the corrosion process instantly so it's all weather dependent on how long it will keep before it needs freshing up the work shop is dry and heated so painting the following day is fine

  • @bloodknottrevelian3396
    @bloodknottrevelian3396 3 года назад +1

    If you look at the consistency of finish between the upper and the lower arms you tackled first you will find the lower one better. I think this is because you used controlled long passes, always attacking the paint to be stripped from an open edge. Inconsistency seems to occur when the nozzle is jiggled around. Please don’t take these observations as criticism. I hope they may enable you to develop a more efficient technique giving a more consistent finish and possibly saving time as well.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  3 года назад +3

      Yeah its known as over blasting when the wiggle happens its a lack in concentration or could be a blip in the media flow hence me changing method. Every blaster has their own way of doing things but I'm a firm believer that overblast is real and strips is the best possible method on steel that is stone brick & wood is a different story as you have to keep an eye on what's happening all the time steel ideal pass is once at the right speed. Sometimes tho it's easier to wiggle and look for the next area check my other loading shovel video I'm very random but their is method in my randomness see if you can figger out my game plan with that 1🤗💞 please note any sort of comment like this is what it's all about for me if someone can spot something that can improve my game I'm all ears 👌💞👍

      @@Mobileblaster Nice! Thank you for answering. :-)
      I asked you because I bought an old wheel loader couple of weeks ago. So after rapairing nearly everything I also wanted to give this old wheel loader a new coat of paint. So my idea was to rent a sandblasting device to remove the paint by myself.
      But it looks like, that will need a looooot of material... :-/

    Eyup Mick, I'm no expert but I think people find this sort of thing 'satisfying' if you do what THEY would do next. On this one you left a bit on that top surface (probably out of reach), that was a bit 'disturbing'... as in 'do that bit!'... Obviously you are doing it your way, and you do know best. But perhaps here you need to play to the audience? As I said, I'm no expert, just giving my tuppence worth if it helps. Cheers...
