Hearing Rockwell at the end of genesis two really made me realize, he is still a human under all that strangley deformed flesh. Even though he corrupted himself is search of greater power, he still has humanity
well "humanity" is somewhat questionable when u see what he did on the island and scorched, humane is not an ideal descriptive word

Yeah I never understood why acension wasn’t ingame. U hear everyone starting boss fights, teleporting, but ascension? Nah.
@@Noxielle the place where the ascension happens is in a different part of the map, i found it while flying on ghost mode
We'll always be sad about Scorched Earth's... Lack of an ending... But i don't think there was a better way yo end this 6 year old Aventure than what Wildcard achieved here... Its simply perfect

Scorched earth’s ending could have had made it so you land on aberration, but your in the surface right as day comes. As you begin to run into nearby shade. That would have been a good cliff hanger

@@Pathanlon77 as far as just making it up as you go, they did pretty damn well.
There was some semblance of a story to begin with, but it was kind of a non-story like LOST. They had no idea where they were going with dossiers other than to give factoids about dinos and game mechanics like recipes and tribes.
@@Mephilis78 each character had their own story, you could probably find a collection of them on the wiki or something. Helena actually found out the obeslisks purpose

Damn, last time i played ARK in 2015 - 2016. In this time i seen this game just as simple survival without a plot. Now, in 2021 i am shocked how much this game made. Now there are several worlds and complete universe plot. Now I must return and complete this game myself.
The first ascension paired with the music gave me chills. It makes me realize how much of a masterpiece this game is

The first one hits hard. Back then this game was so much more mysterious and when you ascended it was new and seeing the arms above earth gave more questions than answers. It made the game seem like more

@@ral-xk7qb Yes, if you follow the explorer notes they detail the ascension on The Island but on SE what happens is they beat the manticore, then they find some special terminal in the middle of that coliseum and they use the manticore trophy to bring themselves to another room similar to the tek boss room and then they hop into aberration. There's a bit more detail than that but that's the short version. If you want more details, check the explorer notes.

Idk why but the Extinction Ascension gets me every time. My journey in the ARKs began all the way back in Year 2 and has meant a lot to me over the years and I have many fond memories of it with hopefully more to come.

There's just something about 0:07 and on that puts me in a trance. "Ascension" is an extremely fitting name for this.
I’ve always thought it was super sad when Helena (Aka HLN-A) was comforting Rockwell right before they both perished in the ship. It’s probably one of the more depressing and sad endings to a video game.
So all the rest of the human accomplices (assumed) to Santiago died on the ship or were ejected? Or?
@@scotteric8711 sorry for super late reply but everyone survivor but the corrupted were ejected to survive and the next planet they land on, the eden ring was also ejected to hopefully preserve life to tge next alien planet. The ship along with rockwells garden ring were completely obliterated with HLN-A detonating the self destruction protocol.
Man this was epic never imagined this,what im talking about is the ending scenes made by people themselves as you showed man this is epic.

the island: You've beaten the overseer and now have the right to ascend to a new ark. (sends some players to scorched earth where they're trapped until the scorched earth ark returns to the earth while others are unintentionally sent to the destroyed ark (aberration)
scorched earth: This is fan made but you'll be sent to aberration because why not.
aberration: you have defeated rockwell (but he'll be back) and now you'll ascend to a new ark. (sends them to the ark on earth already)
extinction: you've done it! you've beaten the king titan and now the corruption can be purged for good.
genesis part 1: congratulations you've beaten the simulation but rockwell isn't happy.
genesis part 2: WARNING WARNING THE SHIPS SYSTEMS ARE FAILING INITIATING EMERGENCY EVACUATION IMMEDIATELY
An Ascension is happy and sad at once. Happy is, that you finally defeated all bosses, but sad is, that you can say goodbye to all your dinosaurs and progress and beginn everything again.
And will we ever get to see all the worlds?
Thankfully we can’t see all the ARKs, because if we could then this game would be like 10 terabytes in size

I got a lot of the good shivers down every single part of my body
I like how in the final cutscene it says “auto dock initiated” and by that I mean the way that the others drop is actually caused by us because the docking clamps are also in the ships control. But it got me wondering. Will we (as in the survivors who beat genesis part 2) get to arat? Or do we just die on the colony ship. And also I wonder if we will be able to see the colony ships ring in the atmosphere of arat because it was extremely close to the planet. But still. Everyone prepare for ark 2!

Do in ark lore there are to factions the tek republic and the terin federation so the maps scorched earth the island and aberration are all created by the tek republic thise maps are arks which are real but they are just space stations, but when nerva killed the overseer the arks faild sort of so the overseer made sure the arks were running properly and then when nerva killed the overseer nerva messed with the controls and thats why aberration is messed up and scorched earth wasn't always a desert but aberration was the only way to get to earth aka extinction and once you get to extinction you are discovered by the last survivors of the terin federation and put into the genisis simulation which unlike the arks is just a simulation and the simulation slowly fails and gets hacked into by Rockwell from aberration. And then you must shut the simulation down forever and once you do that you wake up on gen 2 which is real life on the terin federations spaceship which rockwell escapes to and you must kill him once and for all then you find the non story maps which are the last left of the tek federation and retire also aberration courupts earth and kills everyone exept you

I know I shouldn’t be sad for the bad guys but Rockwells ending is so good I’m kinda sad just like the ending with Heisenberg.
I’ll be so glad for ark 2 and all of its lord it will bring us.
Sorry to necro, but I think the reason both of those endings are good is because in them characters which have been propped up as powerful and nigh untouchable come to a very sudden realisation they are not immortal and any ambition they may had is replaced by desperation (and in Edmund's case, self-pitty). Once they loose their power which they have built over the course of the story, what you are left with are miserable, insignificant people.
The tragedy is in the fact they begin to understand in those last moments their power for which they lied, stole and killed for is in meaningless.
Whenever you hear that first song you know that you ACTUALLY worth as a hunter....

So the ring that have the infection explode with him and the one that was safe stay on space. Now this survivor has to stay in this new ring to protect the animals that are in this ring. I am right here or I missing something.
Well, going by ark ll, the sleeping survivors descends down to the alien planet, and the ring probably “crashes” down on it later.

I had no clue this game had such a devout following. For me, this game was fun then just got really dull. But apparently LOADS of people of people swear by this game. I had no clue 😆😆. Hope you all enjoyed it!
I'd like to think when your survivor heard Rockwells humanity come out we quickly downloaded what every we could of him and put his mind into the exo suit but I know that H-l.n.a and Helena are completely gone
