It will forever frustrate me that the character roster of BFN will forever be left with an uneven character roster to one side, especially with the fact that Iceberg Lettuce was SO CLOSE to being finished before being cut (basically finished aside from icons and polish).
Man, the more I learn about BFN, the more I get so upset over how much potential it still had going for it when they cut the plug At least GW1 and 2 feel like completed games even if they were both meant to keep getting more content
Honestly, after watching this video and considering how out of place Wizard is sometimes. I think him being unfinished in some form makes sense, especially because there was an unused, unique character to the Plants team that never got added. (Still wish Iceberg Lettuce was in the actual game. ;-;)
Popcap crunched like hell to include as much stuff as possible before the discontinuation. Well, i think they crucnhed throughout the entire games lifespan
Oh MOST CERTAINLY. I would nerf Yeti Imp tremendously. Since TV Head is said to be a Support/Swarm character in his menu bio, I was thinking maybe all his abilities are more so for hindering plants or helping zombies than actual harm. For example, Unkind Rewind does less damage but inflicts Time Warp, similar to Rose's Time Snare upgrade. Yeti Imp only does as much damage as the Liftoff upgrade at the closest proximity (40 dmg) but it freezes plants in their place. Overheated Dinner also does more knockback than actual damage. This would help him stand out more from Wildflower, who is more of an Attack/Swarm character.
I’ve always found it funny how you had to BUY the gesture to make the Wizard sad. It’s like a headcanon to me where Wizard is so jolly, you have to LITERALLY PAY HIM TO BE SAD. He’s probably the closest thing zombies have to the physical manifestation of an unbreakable spirit, and I find it hilarious!
I just wish the game wasn't killed so quickly. I think people would like it a lot more if they had the time to add more of the classes and legendary weapons that were planned
Some other things I'd like to point out (mainly unused content and bugs) - There's a pretty common glitch where wizard's sprint animation just bugs out. - One thing I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in the history of this game to have ever noticed is the purpose given to the common skins (the recolors), they're all used for ai champions, the ones with more health, so perhaps we were gonna fight wizard ais in the campaign and the champion version of them would have worn the orange oracle. - He also has a couple of unused taunts. - Pretty sure the reason he doesn't have the dummy skin is because of visual glitches, or that popcap literally FORGOT about the NPC (also the reload doesn't really make sense). - And probably more that I forgot about and might add to this comment later on.
To me another point to him being unfinished is that he can’t turn plants into sheep which was his whole thing in 2 and it probably would of been the ability that currently is taken up by the invincibility potion
He really should have a sheepify ability. Hes basically the inspiration for rose so why not. Another thing is its a real shame they got rid of variants in BFN, cause the wizard could have really cool ones. Pyromancer, Cryomancer, Geomancer, hydromancer, etc.
The only two times you ever see Wizards in Giddy Park are: 1. Shadily hanging by the changing booths for completely non-suspect reasons 2. Unleashing their inner adrenaline junkie and riding on top of a gnome-powered Brainium Basher to help them spawn camp
@@TwilightChomperEnthusiast Is bfn on console alive compared to pc? Lowest today was literally 100 players and I have only seen like 5 total giddypark lmao
the whole of BfN always seemed like it was left unfinished if you think about it, whether it be the constant need for rebalancing, janky bug suddenly appearing from the mist like team swap and invincibility, or just the leaked and theorised other 7 or so characters. I think they definitely didn't finish the game and just threw it out on us with what they had ready, then worked from there.
You can’t tell me that GW2 didn’t have similar bugs. Hell, the team swap glitch and morph glitch are still running rampant online today. At least with BFN, the game-braking bugs have mostly been patched out, and the ones that haven’t can be dealt with fairly easily. Wizard softlock glitch can be countered if you have good reaction time Flying 80s glitch is a complete joke with how slow you move Am I missing anything? But yes, BFN definitely needed another year or so in the oven to come out better.
It’s sad that this game thrown out so quickly it had so much potential the only thing good about its cancellation is that we have infinite time to get through the prize maps even though they could have just been made like switch so we can do anyone anytime
Speaking of unfinished... in Battle Arena, when you play as either Wildflower or a TV-Head, your icon will be anything BUT a Wildflower or a TV-Head. I legit do not know how that oversight was made, but boy is it one I can see myself making if I was on the dev team
You are 100% right. I forget where this was but it might just be lost to time but wizard and berry brigade (another scrapped plant class) were both suppose ot be released at launch from an old leak. I think Wizard being somewhat unfinished here can back up this claim pretty easily but the berry brigade part I can not back up since the proof is lost to time. Wizard had more work done on him so he got added later, berry brigade got scrapped since he was much less worked on and had some harder working parts than wizard and iceberg lettuce. They must have switched to iceberg because of this.
There was 2 plant characters left in the game that were somewhat near completion. Since the game was so poorly received, they never bothered completing them. Idk why they chose to make the swarm characters instead of completing the unfinished characters since I thought that would take less effort.
my opinions on this old man are mixed, he feels a little janky to play but not too bad, im pretty decent with the guy, but then on plants team, im killing them without breaking a sweat, in my opinion he has no counters to anything, and gets countered by everything, but i just cant seem to put my finger on it
Imagine ALL the legendary upgrades wizard could’ve had. Like. “`Zand` (a spin on Wand,) A Upgrade That Switches Out Your Staff For A Rapid Fire-Combo Capable Wand That Run’s Off The Overheat mechanism (Like All-Star.) that Does More Damage If You’re Able To Combo.” Or different abilities said Legendary Upgrade’s Could’ve Granted. Wizard had so many ability possibilities It Isn’t Funny. So many ways to turn the character from a support class to a murder machine that could rival plant’s as well as any other zombie. The support classes, specifically the one’s from the base games-are capable of defending themselves. Wizard, however. Is not capable of such. And is entirely dependent on The Effectiveness Of Their Team, If They Have One. So a legendary upgrade that could change wizard’s abilities, primary and all around play style would be GREAT. Like scientist and steam blaster. But actually deserving of it.

We had several characters that were cut, which could have kept the game alive for a good amount of time. I'm not sure how hard it is to make characters in this game, but they ideally could have added two maybe three new characters a year.
