Id take that frame and body and put a goose kneck neck onthe front like a 5th wheel turn it in to a mobile tool truck just have a roller axel for the back by the time the running gear is gone the weight wouldnt be bad
frame is no where strong enough for "isolated weight" this bus chassis was designed to have a light load spread out evenly. look at how thin the frame is. that is why they double it where the engine, trans and read differential mount.

it might pull ok on flat ground. it would be miserable in the hills. i dont which fight it would lose first.... speed, power, temperature or fuel? not the best engine choice if i were building one.

I drive buses in the UK and the double decker buses I drive are commonly powered by Cummins diesels of between 4-500 ci. Now, keep in mind we are 38 foot long, about 9 foot wide and 14 foot tall. What hp rating do we get? 225 to 250hp.. 😔 They will commonly run to more than 500,000 miles, too
I could use some advice, I just bought a 01 international 4700 with a dt466e, and I’ve got a pretty good oil leak, oil pan wet, it’s starting to get on the exhaust and the trans, pto pump etc, I’m thinking it has to be coming from higher up and leaking down. Are there any things higher up I should check first? Thanks
I drove bus since 1993. From 1996-2001 we had these AmTran RE’s with the T444E. But we didn’t have the push button transmission This engine should not have been in the RE’s, they were just to slow and they overheated constantly. One of our 1996 (first generation RE’s) had 3 engine overhauls, 2 during 1 school year cause of leaks and issues. They ride nice, really quiet, turn nicely but they have their issues. Most were do to Engine and design flaws. And most of ours blew oil everywhere, our one mechanic called them Oil Burners cause he always ended up filling the oil up in them during oil check day. In 2001, we finally went back the the international conventional busses cause they lasted longer
Looks worth rebuilding the engine yourself, open it up and find out which piston it is, if it's a set of rings or a single cracked piston you can replace, to rule out the possibility of it being the air compressor as the engine isn't as shaky as I was expecting you can run it without the auxiliary belt as a test
not houw i do things. if i open it up and replace piston rings, it will get them all. along with rods, mains, oil pump and heads off to the machine shop for a inspection and valve job. the bus value can not support such a repair.
watch the video again. when i show the rear tires, look closely where the tire tread meets the sidewall. there is a boding agent there. you can pick it at if you look for it.

I drove bus since 1993. From 1996-2001 we had these AmTran RE’s with the T444E. But we didn’t have the push button transmission
This engine should not have been in the RE’s, they were just to slow and they overheated constantly.
Realistically, how much bigger of a motor could you put in this kind of bus?
14Litter Cat
@JAG Why not a C15 or bigger
@JAG with twin turbo and extreme exhaust pipes.
Can you do an autopsy video of the T444E?
You could swap it out for the Caterpillar Cummins engine or even a Detroit Diesel engine if you want to do that
Nice parts on wheels.
@Hi Tim how are you doing
nice bus good luck you might check Copart 4 a late mode smashed semi or camper smashed truck cheap
im not sure why you are suggesting this? can you explain?
Some old school guy prob ordered that bus 20 years ago with that tiny engine.
Yes...Some clown that was more interested in fuel mileage than long term durability.
Very good.
possibly a dumb question.. how can you tell the tires are re-caps? love this channel
watch the video again. when i show the rear tires, look closely where the tire tread meets the sidewall. there is a boding agent there. you can pick it at if you look for it.
@@j.c.smithprojects oh yeah, I think i see it. learn something new everytime i'm here. you've created a great community here, just love everything about this channel, see you on the next one and thanks for the reply!
That blow bye is not that bad for a turbo7.3 Sea Foam has been a good send for me on 7.3s what I heard was just exhaust leaks.
