1) You two are hilarious and I love when you shop together. 2) You TOTALLY should have done a head staging challenge! It’s not too late! You can make it a short! LOL
😂
Absolutely ❤ed
But it has to be for Halloween
My thoughts exactly!😄
“I can hear the awkward silence coming through the screen”. Jesse is spot on.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
No awkward silence here I was cracking up with a huge smile!😂
Without the blue eyes, the head would be too Michael Myers from "Halloween." WITH the blue eyes, however, it's just a goofy head. I know Jesse will find some way to use it in a fun manner. He seems silly like that (in a good way).
@@susanalfieri4487 YES Michael Meyers from Halloween, that's what it looks like.
Great fun...😂
I love when Jesse accompanies. He's so funny!
Jessie with that head had me cracking up.
Yes, it’s interesting looking at some of the stuff he picks up.
Put in another vote for a head staging series... You guys are absolutely fantastic together❤
The embroidered fabric is an antique sandwich wrap Emily era 1920's. It has an oriental Tori gate with trees that then has a Zen garden scene. So it is likely to remind the person eating their lunch/meal to relax as though you are at an Asian park entrance . where you enter through the gate and find solitude and peace at the Zen garden. I found some while living in Japan during the mid 1970's. A very rare find, I am so happy you bought them. They sell anywhere from $7.50 to $20 each.
Not Emily 🤦🤷autocorrect ... DOILY.
WOW!
Thank you! I've never head of a sandwich wrap of this type before. So gorgeous.
I'm guessing the Japanese person opening the lunch wrap didn't have mustard or bbq sauce to soil their beautiful wrap
Interesting! I thought maybe it was a handkerchief.
That little wood candle holder was made by artist Dixie Wajdic. She is from Lakeside Montana by Flathead Lake and these pieces are made from old cedar fence posts. She is very prolific and I would not be surprised if that number reflects it being the 1806th piece she has made.
Amazing! Thank you for this info!!
I am so glad someone else knows this artist. I just picked up a piece of hers on a recent trip to Idaho and it has some of the barbed wire still on the piece...love it!
I'm dreading the end of this series; the head totally needs to be styled.
You two just crack me up! I love that you drove 30 minutes back to get the 50 pound head! So entertaining! 🤣
You two never fail to put a big ole smile on my face 😌
The way you took love each other and complement each other is truly inspiring
I favor the idea of napkins for an afternoon tea, as there were so many of them. I think the embroidery represents a garden structure, probably a tea house. A roofed structure with open air sides that is useful but also provides an eye catching point of interest to the landscape. Always more fun with Jesse around! This is the best series!
I think Jesse should have a vintage booth, filled with "man cave" items. A niche we don't see often. Now, of course, he will need to take us along on his thrifting too, but we need that along with your regular videos.
I think we should start taking bets on when Jesse finally gets so into this he opens a booth somewhere. We all know how addictive vintage is...
with an impressive number of fish dishes each with their own story and and other fish-related items 🤣
I love that you went back for the head! Think of the fabulousness it can bring to your life with possible pranking and general humor. Please let us know if you name it. I would prank family members by putting it in the fridge.
The nieces and nephews are gonna get scared for sure! I bet he just leaves it in a different place or room every day and I end up getting scared 🤣
@@leftcoastrevivalsoh no. For you I hope not! 😅
@@leftcoastrevivals that 😂is hilarious!
“Use my shirt “ Made me laughing 😂😂 so humorous!
Hahahahaha yeah it was xD
When I was 12 years old, I traveled from CA to Idaho with my parents and Aunt/Uncle. We visited a great- aunt there. She showed me how to make little rocking chair with a pin cushion seat out of a soda can. She rolled strips of the can to make quite a fancy looking chair. That was in 1967. Blessings, Janell
How special! ❤️ thanks for sharing this memory!
YES! We did that too!
That's what I remember from the 70s. Some didn't get painted, and you could still see Pepsi or Coke (Budweiser or Coors) names.
PLEASEEE i want to see you staging that head 🤣🤣. i love you Guys , your videos make my Fridays better
The metal fold up tray was for a Kodak Carousel Slide Projector. My dad had one and it had a plug in "remote" that operated the advancement of the slides. High Tech for the 70's!
Interesting!
I had a childhood flashback too! 🥰
Slides show's were a thing
I came here to say that. Jesse picked up the screen a few months ago for outdoor movies, and this is the table that the projector sits on! Go back! Go back!
Yay! Jesse bought the head! 😆
I love how he went back for it!
You guys going back to get the creepy head for Jesse is worth the metaphorical price of admission for this whole video!
Jesse often verbalizes what I am thinking at the same moment. I was thinking “grenade” lamp when he mentioned it. In a previous video he commented he didn’t care for clear vases, because he didn’t like to see the stems; I agree! His comments on bronzed baby shoes were also right in line with my opinion. Kindred spirits!
I inherited my grandparents tin craft that they made in the 70’s, I even have the instruction book! I was obsessed with the doll furniture as a kid. My grandma would paint and upholster the furniture. Awesome to see you pick some up!
I love the Persian miniature picture. The frame is hand made. So pretty!
Omg! This is hysterical! The whole head adventure was the best!
Im crying, love the head. I can see it on a platter at the Tiki Party. 😅
What a great idea
That moment of thrift panic regret on Jesse’s face when you suggested the head would be gone… 😮😂
Also - my fave this week is hands down the large metal candle holder. Fabulous. 🖤🕯️
I toured Alcatraz many years ago, and there was a head much like the one Jesse bought there on display. A prisoner had made it, put it in a pillow filled bunk, as he tunnelled out and escaped. His was paper mache and much lighter though.😉
I love the head! A see him sporting a new hat every week. 😂
So glad Jesse bought the head! Please do a challenge incorporating two different busts.
Such a cute couple and refreshing to see respect for each and having fun together...
This is the best series ever… this could be an annual thing?! 👀👀
Jesse is right. “Grandma’s Secret Spot Remover” I have used for years. I’m almost out, so hope I can still find it!!! Also the glasses with the gold leaves remind me of the Laurel leaves that Julius Caesar used to wear on his head. Maybe little Italy appropriate?
Its fun when your husband joins you. You both have great energy!
The word is juicy, Laura. Juicy chicken 🍗
Sooooo much better! 😂
Talking about Jesse's dad working at a foundry brought back memories to me. I worked at an aluminum foundry for 8 years. There was a sand mold department and when they poured the liquid aluminum it was clear like water.
That would be perfect on a Tshirt “Not everyday is a bitossi day”
Omg yes! New merch coming soon 🤣
Couldn't believe you found that twisted metal candle holder. I have one exactly like it in my store. It is indeed heavy. I am loving this series.
Love the banter. I'm loving this series.
Fells Naptha bar for stains. It is amazing. Wet fabric, wet bar rub bar on fabric. I have taken out old stains with it and it's cheap
Red velvet chairs for the Bomb Shelter! Don't want this series to end! Head for the Bomb Shelter too!
Jessie, the napkin conversation (both of them) was so hysterical. You had been so good at being supportive and then BAM. I loved the break out man talk about decorative napkins. You both are so fun to watch.
so glad you two found each other!..
Such a delight when both of you are "hilariously coordinated"with each other...going back to GW for THE HEAD.Just loved it when Jessie is also participating/ commenting if an item is valuable, functional or
otherwise.More power to both of you!🥰❤💐👍
You two are so cute together!!! It’s tons of fun to hang out with you on your shopping trips!
I am interested in reselling glassware and ceramics, and this channel has been an absolutely charming and invaluable education. I especially love this Goodwill series! You have incredible taste (I'm sure you hear that all the time). Thank you for all this info and fun!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! Wishing you the absolute best in your reselling!!
That piece would be beautyfull on your little Italie table!
So many cusions!
Love the paisleydress
Put that head in the window, you will never get burglars lol
Thank you for sharing X
Jesse's office must be a weird and wonderful place! 💕
Weird for sure 😂 I’ll have to get him to give a tour at some point!
Man cave of curiosities
I just love your vibe as a couple. You can see there is friendship and love but also mutual respect and that is very precious! Love can get lost if you lose that...never let go.
Kissing the windshield! 😂😂😂 You two are too funny. Love your videos.
I love this series!
Not a dinner napkin....
Afternoon tea.
When need little smile or laugh after rough work week you guys do not disappoint. Thank you for sharing. ❤😊
You two are something else. You make me laugh, and I’m so glad Jesse came up with this great idea going to all the goodwills. It’s been so much fun! Thanks for the laughs.
A cookie jar can hold other sweets besides cookies. We keep our granddaughters fruit snacks in our jar.
Or a secret place for chocolate
Dog treats.
I don't have any sound.
I use an old covered bean pot for my cookie jar. They can make a great flower vase as well.
Wow, I use mine for cookies. They don't get stale if you eat them.
The tall metal lamp reminds me of one I had one many years ago and it had a big round shade with metal bands between beige stained glass.
It reminds of the Frank Lloyd Wright era.
I am so loving this series I definitely don't want this to end
The lamp base goes with a slag or Tiffany style lamp shade, see if it signed, bradly Hubbard, or handle.Or Miller of the era.
I loved this episode! maybe my favorite so far. You guys are so cute together. I love that Jesse went back for “the head”! It definitely kept me smiling. Keep it going!!!
I live in New Mexico. The All American Futurity is the richest race in Ruidoso. The just recently had large fire there which did a great amount of damage. They are now dealing with severe flooding from the burn scar. We used to race quarter horses. One of the horses we had still holds a track record there. Interesting I had never seen the decanter before.
My Mom did the tin can art back in the late 60’s, still have a pin cushion chair of the stuff. The whiskey decanter with Ruidoso Downs Million Dollar Horse Race, I couldn’t believe it! I live there and was super surprised to see that way up in the Northwest! How awesome is that!
I absolutely adore your channel Laura.
You are a fabulous couple.
Thrifitng or ‘Opp shopping’ as we call it down here (New Zealand) is just not a patch on yours.
You have impeccable taste and an absolute talent for styling. Go you!!
I would never use those napkins as napkins either. I would use them under items that you may have on your buffet. We used to use like lace runners or doilies under certain things on our buffet and I just think that you could stage those really well laura, I couldn't but you could! 😊
I believe the napkins were luncheon napkins and were popular in the 1930s and early 1940. Sometimes there was a matching tablecloth. Ladies would get together around lunchtime, have sandwiches and tea at cardtables, then spend the afternoon playing Bridge or cardgames.
Hilarious...I've been watching you for years and this was the funniest episode...that head and those napkins. Too good you guys...love it!! And yes please stage with the head..I wanna see that!!
Folex works great on stains too - I've taken a small spray bottle with me - sprayed the stain - keep thrifting and then check before I leave - Most times the stain is gone!
That's too funny, I can't wait to see where the head comes into play! Also, have enjoyed watching and learning from these shopping sprees. Thank you, love reading the informative comments! Looking forward to upcoming events, lol!
I’ve been laughing like crazy watching you two talk about the candle holder with the wick in it! It reminds me of a line from Back To The Beach. Annette and Frankie’s son says to them “It’s quite a piece of dialogue when you two intellectual giants get together, I should be writing this down!” Love your videos!
The small thin napkins are when you are serving tea and cookies, small sandwiches, when playing afternoon cards ( bridge)
Perhaps the delicate stitched squares are handkerchiefs?
That radio @ 22:13 is one that I've had just about forever. My dad pulled the innards out around 1956 & was used as a storage cabinet. I have in my dining room now.
You should just have random Js all over your house. Jesse would feel so loved!
Oh my Head 😹 i knew Jesse was quirky - i love it ~ and the cast iron candleholder is amazing and perfect for ball candles that we love 🎉
Tin art was popular in the mid 70’s. We actually collected old beer cans to make lanterns and votive candles in art class. The projected light from them was pretty neat.
Love when you and Jessie shop together!!
YEA! JESSE! A"HEAD" OF THE GAME!
🤣
You are such a fun couple love your videos and that head… no words
In case you have a Subway party. That was soooo funny. You and Jesse are “on” today. You two were hysterical today or maybe the heat is getting to me and I’m getting rummy. Lol
Loved the East Salem/ Salem discussion. We live in SE Idaho. There's a small town called Preston, ID and ten miles west is another town called Weston. We crack up every time we pass the mileage sign on the freeway. 😊
Love this series! You two are like a great comedy team.
I worked for many years in a HUGE craft store in Salt Lake City. The owner showed me how to quill she was a master at it. I find it hard to do now my fingers don't cooperate. But it can be so pretty.
Goodwills, in Vegas, have so much trash on the shelves. Anytime I'm up in your area, I am amazed at how everything is mostly intact. Very little garbage.
Relationship goals. You are both such an inspiration to watch❤
Thank you! ❤️ thanks for having fun with us!
So beautiful and functional! Love jewelry holder and perfume cabinet! Blanket on bed is great! Curtain wall is fabulous! Great job!
I never want this series to end! ❤
You two are too funny! I love it when Jesse comes along! Please do the head challenge!!! You could totally style up that head!!! 💀🎃🤣🤣 Rock it, Laura!!👤
I laughed so hard 🤣 on this episode! So hilarious !!! Your husband cracks me up! He’s so funny lol. I was really hoping at the end to see some kind of staging going on with that creepy head 😂!
I want to see the head staging challenge!!!!! 😂
You guys are a hoot, I love to watch when partners come with🥰
I think this my all time favorite video!😅❤ The head!!😊😅
Love these videos. ❤❤ The metal candle holder is fabulous. Can't wait to see how you style it in your beautiful home. Loved the teapot too! Congrats to Jessie on finding the head! 😂
My fave? When you find myrtle wood, it's almost always going to be my pick! 😊
A day thrifting when you find Oregon Myrtlewood is a good day. It's much harder here in FL, but I've done it once or twice.
@@susanalfieri4487 Here in Northwest Arkansas I've found a pretty little bud vase with a glass insert and a pair of vintage bookends!
"Head saga" cracked me up 🤣 I appreciate that someone spend time making it...but it is bit to the creepy side 🤣
That’s so funny, I just watched that video of you getting the tables and being squished in your car this morning.
Still worth it! 😂🙌
I laughed out loud when Jesse showed the head in the car 🤣😂
Oh my I could not stop laughing! I love it!! So much fun!
You have to do a vignette with the head, absolutely, please!
Love it!
I love this series so much. And you would use the fancy linen napkins at ladies teas/lunches back in the day.
I am loving this series! I love when Jesse comes with you, also. I think the “napkins” are handkerchiefs. They look like the kind my mother and grandmother made before tissues were prevalent (or even invented, lol).
Loved the head. So glad you went back to the store to get it. You two are so adorable and fun.
“It’s headless!”
That’s priceless!!!
No awkward silence from me on that goofy head Jesse.. i was LOL big time!! And that look you had as Laura reminded you if you see something you like, better get it now..I know that urgency..ive missed out on some goodness because I waited. You two are so cute. Love your banter. Im calling for a stage off tho Laura! Make it happen ;-)
