Who takes care of this cemetery? It would be nice if someone would clean up those grave markers. Those guys gave their lives for the South their graves should be taken care of. Does anyone agree with me?

It's actually in Russellville. I live ten minutes from the place. I've spent a few minutes looking at some of the graves there myself. It's a nice reminder of those that came before us
Did y'all go by hayslope or the Campbell or Longfellow houses while in the area?

In Vineland, Cumberland County, NJ, the Siloam Cemetery has a fancy gate like that, though it's of a different style. Up in Burlington County we have a Friends (Quaker) meeting house (built 1773) that has a cannon ball embedded up high in one wall from a local battle in the Revolutionary War. That upside down star on Elizabeth Seals' gravemarker is for Order of Eastern Star. My grandmother was in Eastern star for 82 years, right up until she died. As soon as I finished typing that you put it on the screen. 🙂
I loved seeing and hearing the history of that cemetery and the church. I wish I was close enough to visit. But you guys make me want to go visit Morristown, NJ. I've been wanting to go there for years. I know there are beautiful churches there, and it's quite historic.

The cemetery is actually in Russellville, not Morristown. My husband-to-be at the time and I participated in the battle reenactments, as cavalry. The local Sons of Confederate Veterans camp cares for the soldiers' graves and works to keep the church in good condition - they have a sunrise service there for Easter, and a recent war Between the States period wedding was held there. Deo Vindice.

The emotions from that era really do seem to linger on, don't they?. Especially in places like this. I imagine you all are aware of that Confederate song called "I am a Good Old Rebel." (The song and lyrics are available on You Tube.) They're so dark that I don't really want to quote them here, but they surely do give a window into the bitterness that marked the times. I can see why people tended to associate hauntings and eerie events with even beautiful places like this! (Btw, I'm the member who has posted a lot as "kes S" on the channel. For unknown reasons RUclips decided it was time for me to have a name change! 😀) Wishing you both safe travels!

The ghosts there are hostile toward northerners because they are southerners. There is also rumored to be a crying baby, and a wailing woman ghost in the cemetery.

What a beautiful cemetery!! Love the church. The front entrance of the church reminds me of Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, KY. The men entered and exited one entrance and the women the entrance. My goodness! So much history in this beautiful place. As many times as I have been to Morristown, I have not visited this cemetery. My loss! Thank you for this great video.
