Born in 85 and listen to a wide variety of music, including what we'd brand "Classic Rock". I grew up listening to CCR, The Beatles and Ella Fitzgerald among other great music. CCR will forever be on my Mount Rushmore, for my personal tastes.
I recently watched a Concert of These Guys & They Hardly stopped between songs,Which were Hit after Hit, Truely a great band with their own sound. Fantastic Band.
No apologies needed for not being able to sing like John - no one can! One of the all-time great songs, bar none. And great job explaining this classic.♠
CCR was the ultimate garage band , when they hit the scene my god we went gaga insane over them , a lot trashed John for his lead work and i for one still believe it is second to none , his playing is imperfectly perfect
He also wrote and arranged, every good song, they ever had. He could’ve had success either way any band he put together. Sad, how horrible, and jealous, they all were. His brother, being especially sad to see act like they all contributed equally, or that without John, they’d have ever had careers. I love what they recorded, but session guys could’ve done it. Live, it sounded the same with other musicians.
John Fogerty’s guitar guitar was usually tuned down a full step to D , while his brother Tom played in standard tuning . That’s where that Creedence swampy sound comes from .❤

I play it with a capo on 3. Still mostly open chords but I find it makes the key change to C easier. Great job as always!
Great lesson, thanks! 👍3:14 I also use the D-minor chord between B-flat and G-minor. It makes the chord progression a bit more melodic.
