Amal gives us the whole story @Digital sisterhood Podcast and it’s beautiful. May Allah grant her the highest level of Janna and forgive all her shortcomings and grant her family sabr.
May Allah grant her jannah and ease the hearts of her family and give them all strength. I really admire them for speaking about it as it will raise awareness.
Honestly, before this video I turned a blind eye to mental illnesses. Jazakallah sisters for raising awareness of this issue. I pray that Allah grants your mother Jannah and also pray for Allah to ease you and your family's hearts. Ameen.
mary: I am glad this video affected you positively. You are not the only one who isn’t aware of the problem. Some people are even judgmental about it as they see it as a weakness &/or a lack of faith. My husband was judgmental about it and didn’t know how to help me when I sought help & support from him. But Alhamdoullah over the years he has changed and has become more sensitive to the issue. It is a very lonely road for those of us who suffer from mental illness. It is even worse for Muslims as there is a stigma about it in the community. But things are changing thanks to the new generation of Muslims. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
plz make sure u pray for ur mother allah to forgive her about suiciding. May He shower her wity his mercy. no one knows what this dunia holds for us walahi
May Allah forgive your mother and grant her peace in the afterlife. You girls are so brave for making this video and spreading awareness. InshaAllah our community changes and acknowledges that Allah created psychologists, psychiatrists and medication to help us in this life along with Quran and prayer.
Sorry for your loss sister. To Allah we come from and to Allah we belong. My cousin (like a sister) committed suicide. Thank you for greating Awareness🌹
I’ve just finished watching this video after I saw it posted on the MuslimLink newsletter I get via email. I admire you for speaking about mental illness and sharing your personal story. I am sure you will help many people who may otherwise not seek out the help they need. It was so moving to hear your story as this hits close to home. As a mother I have suffered from depression most of my life. It started when I had my first child when I had postpartum depression. I didn’t know what it was as I didn’t get the help I needed. I didn’t realize the impact it had on my two children until they have become adults. I read some poetry & writings my adult daughter did, & performed. I have sought help from the beginning, but I didn’t get it until years later after I moved to a bigger city. Muslim scholars were very unhelpful. I was so close to taking my own life few times, and had even a letter written and ready to leave behind. My daughter helped me to become more open about it over the last 3 years. In her undergrad training she has spearheaded mental illness awareness education. She continued to do so during her Medical training as it’s very common amongst medical students given the rigorous & demanding training they go through. Even though my daughter doesn’t suffer from mental (alhamdoulillah) she has always had a keen interest in raising awareness about it. Thank you very much for your video. This couldn’t come at a better time as I was thinking about a young girl Who opened up to me few weeks ago about her mental illness. I had encouraged her to see my Family Physician who is amazing as she is the one who has helped a great deal. I was thinking about this young lady making Duaa for her.
Mental illness is one of the hardest things to go through and trying to come on the deen or to practice is an on going battle. Theres highs and lows. The suicidle rates are on the high, people need to stop seeing it as a taboo topic or say that these individuals are selfish. When their pain has gone beyond the limit and a person can no longer cope and not thinking straight, they think they are better of dead to find some peace. You wouldn't even be able to comprehend on how much some people are suffering. Mental illness is a real thing and not just in people's head. Only the ignorant and unknowledgable would say that! May Allah swt make it easy for this ladies family. Poor thing. My hearts breaking for them, seeing your own mother in that state is heart breaking. May they have the strength to get through this
@@jaskayy6590 It's not that simple, if sooo much damage has already been done and a lot of trauma or people wrecking your life then the damage can be irreversible. If it's not as bad then there is still hope of being abls to manage it
May Allah SWT grant your mother Jannah Firdosa, it is so hard navigating/dealing with a parent who deals with severe mental health issues my heart goes out to your family and I will pray for you guys.
My heart breaks for this family. Mental health needs to be taken seriously in our communities. I suffer from PSTD and depression being a mum with a teenager who has a disability has its awards and its struggles. There not be a month in my life where I didn't think about ending it all, I know I can't my kids need me, especially my daughter she is so amazing I wanna see her grow up and watch her shine through life. Mental health can rob us of everything we love, may this family heal and Allah protect them.
Alhamdulillah she didn't die directly. Which might be the thing that saved her from the hell fire. Because Allah forgives every sin. She took the Shahada before she left. She asked for forgiveness because of her attempt. Allah In Sha Allah forgave her. She will be reunited with her family in Jannah In Sha Allah ❤️. Wish these sisters much Sabr
Wallahi, as a 20 yr old somali girl. I struggle so much. I don’t know what to do or don’t even have the money to get help. I think I took the wrong path in life but I believe that if I just ended my life I don’t have to deal with it. Neglected by my family and friends, mentally and physically, also finically I don’t know what else to do because I am tired of fighting and I believe it is the time for me to go
My sister, please if you need any one to talk to, you may speak to me. My mentor his Instagram is @talha_azam_ and he has assisted me through so much. people were about to commit suicide in the worst states, and then they learned from him and sought help and Alhamdu lillah they are so much better now. You don’t even have to pay money. Just private message him there. Please don’t leave without seeking help. When you seek help, there’s nothing to lose, yet there is so much to gain. I promise. Even if you take a wrong route, it does not mean that all is over. You can always tread a new path, form a new one, take a new route. Every day is a start to a new beginning. When you get weak on your journey, then that is when the people become like a walking stick is to the elderly, we help you until you’re ready to stand up. Please contact that person, you won’t be let down in sha Allah

Im sorry but this comment is very insensitive and certainly not needed here. Please be considerate of others and remove it. At the end of the day Allah is the MOST merciful and forgiving, so you do not know whether Allah will pardon her and give her respite for all that she went through in this life. Do not judge her! You do not know what she was thinking only God does. He will judge accordingly and reward her for her suffering because mental illness is a form of extreme suffering.
