Like us on Facebook @ / 2redline The Ridgeline was designed for the non-traditional truck buyer to be more efficient, practical, easier to drive, and comfortable to live with. The good bones are still there but this truck is in dire need of a redesign. If you are in search of a smaller, more manageable truck and can deal with a dated cabin and lack of tech on lower trims, this truck could work for you.
Авто/Мото
Dude, why are you complaining so much? I actually prefer a column shift, leaves room in the console for actual storage and usage. Much more practical than a bulky console shift.
no kidding lol. It's a Honda truck, what more can you say lol. God damn, just bounce it off the rev limiter.
@@idiotstick1527 lol
I agree so much so negative
A honda ridgeline is basically a chevy avalanche that woke up and decided to be gay
This video was made in 2012 and you are anwersing in 2019
We used to have one of these, and I gotta say I miss it. I loved the way the Ridgeline handled, especially in the snow. I could floor the peddle and the truck wouldn't spin out, no matter how hard I tried. It pulled our boat with ease as well. I am looking to get another one in the near future.
I dated a girl that had this truck...The back seat is nice ;)

😳😳😳
Lol
Hey now !!! LOL Yes, it's much easier to play Stinky Pinky back there than in my 78 VW Rabbit, I found out in High School lol
I have a 2006 RTL. It's been a fantastic light truck. No issues at all, with 140K on it. It only has a few bugaboos, namely, it can't tow a whole lot and it has lower clearance than say a Tacoma/Colorado. The interior is HUGE, the motor is strong, 3/4 ton payload, no wheel wells in the bed and a really nice, large trunk. The AWD/VTM works very well in snow and rough terrain. I don't regret buying mine.
How can 2009 be almost 10 years ago? Omg the whole time I was thinking this review is on a 4 year old truck. Man I'm growing old.
Guess your "old school" as this fella says repeatedly
This is an '09 truck, as in built ONLY 5 years ago, and how many times does he make the truck sound like its 15 years old? Its not retro, its not old school or anything like that. Its just a utilitarian truck/car hybrid meant for low end truck users. No more, no less. This guy needs to loosen his skinny pants and chill.
+trekguy31 yup, he's disappointed it's not his stepdad's x5
I have one of these. A 07 I bought new. Now has 360k on the odometer. Truck has bin SUPER reliable. Just brakes tires and oil changes. Did the belt twice now. One thing I totally hate is the trucks turning radius. you need a 6 lane highway to do a U turn. I would buy again. I however just hate the styling of the new Ridgeline. Just cant get used to looking at them. Cheers.
Yeah as an owner of a 2013 Ridgeline Sport (love this beast) Honda really messed up with the Gen 2's. The 'beefy' aspects that I love about the Gen 1's are gone. It's like they stuck it in a wind-tunnel and shaped the design 100% around that. The Black Edition isn't 'bad', but they really should have take cues from the original design and refined.
I'm fine with the 2nd gen styling. The entire truck is better than gen 1.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH
Yeah, if you like Crossovers (Pilot).
Who teach you how to drive and🤔 turn
I love the ridgeline for the unique bed features. Luckily I can find a 2009 or so for under $10,000
I don't know with this guy is talking about.. I like how simple this car is, and it's a interior/car that looks durable.
And I honestly look the column shifter.. out of the way and simple. I wish more trucks would offer a column shifter
Excellent review. This may not be the most popular truck, but the Ridgeline buyer stays with the product. That normal Ridgeline buyer will continue to replace their old one with a new one. I'd gladly be a part of that group. I love this truck.
I own a 2011 z71 and wish I would of bought the ridgeline.
Why? I thinking about getting one or the other look the look of the Z but honda reliability got me thinking
I have a really amazing 03 civic, living in the north I have been thinking of a truck.
Frankly I find the build quality and reliability of the "domestics" to be beyond lacking.
I would love a truck with the rock solid quality and reliability of my civic.
The Ridgeline has always intrigued me and I have never known how to feel about it lol.
I love ridgelines.
is all you do is complain?
Gen 1 is the best! I plan on getting one and customize it. Can't wait!
5 seconds into the review and I already have questions...How is the Ridgeline the "oldest product" in the line? I'm sure the Accord and Civic are older, among others.
Starts cold engine , stomps gas petal to the floor & engine hits the rev limiter , nice job bud . 😉
no shit! lol
good pick! looking forward to a long-term update!
Great truck! Midsize is the key word.
Proud Honda owner myself. Techinically, I have one suggestion. I am not sure if the mic levels were set too high, but there is a great deal of scratchy audio breakup on this video. Other than that, nice thorough and subjective review, Sofyan.
Rock solid quality there I have a 08 and its awesome
ironeagle2526 I just bought my 08 with 160000. Hoping it lasts another 100000. I love it so far!
I’ve been watching your reviews for years and I have NO IDEA why this came up on my feed but WOAH, what a throw back lol
Love the parts where your goosing the pedal a little bit, that engine sounds nice. I looked at a Ridgeline and a Frontier. I liked both! Also this is the version that did NOT have the VCM , no deformed cylinders, no oil burning, from heat from cylinder deactivations.
Inaccurate. He says the 2009 is the third year for the Ridgeline. It started in 2006. 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. That makes it the fourth year.
Read that again but slowly
Todd Spinner 🤦♂️
OMG. When some loud and wrong!
I want one so bad!
i say buy what you like i own a ridgeline love it but i was going to buy a truck tundra but i have no use for a full size truck my ridge is perfect 5yrs no promblems
Looks like a El Camino Banged a Honda Element
Hhaha.
More like an illegitimate child of a Chevy Avalanche and Silverado. Lol
Nice review of a 2009 in 2012 with me commenting in 2020. I just purchased a brand new 2019 Ridgeline for $30,000 exactly. This reviewed model cost more than the base model I am now driving. A new 2020 top-spec Ridgeline cost about $43,000. It was a nice ride back in 2012 and mine is a nicer ride in 2020. We suggest that you can still make one hell of a deal purchasing a new Ridgeline of the previous model year. I am an old man but I predict the Ridgeline will be running after I am long Departed. Oh yes, I saved my money from 2013 when honda introduced the Ridgeline, till I could purchase one in 2020 for cash. The interest will kill you.
Okay so I want one of those where can I get one for free 😂
Cooley is the man!!!!
HONDA RIDGELINE THE BEST TRUCK
It's not even a truck.
@PGm issa but Tacoma is based on a body on frame chassis and this is based on a uni body platform.
@@insayn7995 Sure it is you literal asshat
@@insayn7995
It's a truck. Relax. It don't have to be triggered all the time. The original Jeep Grand Cherokee was unibody. Are you going to say that it's not a true Jeep?
based on what 🤔
I think Honda should offer a diesel model.
Ok why.. why 🤔 why diseal
Semi Trucker i think my thoughts were that they had better fuel economy and more low end torque. -also that ALL pickups here in NZ are equipped exclusively with diesel powertrains, and being that diesel here in NZ is much cheaper, it seemed strange to see petrol pickups. but knowing that petrol is cheaper in the US, i was uneducated haha.
Very good call!
That under bed storage is slick. I wish my pickup had that. But, instead the second gas tank is there. But, they could do it on newer trucks that only have the mid mount gas tanks.
Great Review Of 2009 Honda Ridgeline RTL. 😀
Liking just for the Brian Cooley shout-out.
Well done bro
I love your honda pickup truck 💚👍
Lol. Your confidence on camera has improved so much! It’s fun watching you grow as a presenter
I actually prefer a column shifter, its just faster and more natural imo
Nice thing about the ridgeline? You can practically drag and drop a J37 in it. Only need a couple things from the ridgeline motor and boom, 300+hp. Im freshening up a J37A1 right now to drop in my 09 Ridgeline
I love my ridgeline I got one with out the nav
You can buy your own navigation in
thanks!! I do like my honda element shiftier better and it isant in the way. I wish they were still making the element... I wonder what can be done to up the mpg? the price of a new ridge line is just plain stupid.
Review a 2007 or 08 Acura TL TYPE-S. automatic. Thanks. Love your reviews
There is actually an old video of that on our editor in chief's old channel.
Where and what is this channel/video? Can't seem to find it
Can you do a video of the fog lights and HID lights on the 2013 mustang. I seen somewhere that the fog lights on the mustangs are led.
AWESOME review! These trucks are so much nicer than anything else out there, imo.
My dad had an 07 and a 10, both of which were fantastic. He's talking about getting a 12 Sport, but Idk, haha.
not that matters that much but the glove box is damped must be disconnected from the piston whenever the cabin filter is replaced the shop or whoever does it forgets to reconnect it
My dad may buy a Ridgeline soon. He currently drives a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that he bought new 10 1/2 years ago, which now has almost 250k miles, so he badly needs a new truck. This would be a huge improvement. I told him that he could get a good deal on one because Honda is discontinuing this generation in mid-2014.
Does he own a Ridgeline now? There's a new 2017 Ridgeline as well.
He still drives the 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, but he's probably gonna check the new Ridgeline out soon. His truck has nearly 300k miles now with very few problems over the years. He wants to get rid of it very soon before it starts having more problems. Work has been really good for him lately so he can finally afford a new truck. He's been asking me here & there about several trucks so it looks like it's finally gonna happen!
Yea he would probably love how the new ridgeline has truck bed audio and all those fancy features. It has good utility and it;s a pretty good price for what you get. I like how they put usb ports everywhere and kept some of the same features from the old ridgeline. If he wants reliability, a truck that is durable, a truck that has really nice features, a truck that is good for trips and families, a truck that can get the job done, and a truck that is comfortable, and spacious and utility, then a Honda Ridgeline is the best choice for all of that. I'm glad to hear work has been good for him lately. Alright, take care!
@@itsonlyamazda4671 Very late reply, but he purchased a 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T back in February 2017 (white exterior, beige interior) & he loves it so far & has been reliable. It rides & handles like a car. Huge improvement over his Sport Trac overall. He's a Landscape Contractor & work has been very strong for him for the past 6 years & he loves the in bed trunk which is a really cool feature.
@@DisneyMusicVideos I use one for lawn care. Yeah its front wheel drive but the dam thing is just jam packed with useful stuff. It really does do everything.
Looking back at this review compared to your more recent reviews, you sure got a lot of haters back in the day. Glad to see you stuck with it all this time, good job.
Yah because all he does is whine in this video, complaining about the dashboard quality of a truck?! lol
That intro... I wanna see the bloopers!!
u can install a usb port, easily. why cry about
One of the best Ridgeline reviews on YT. Thanks for going into all the detail around features, materials, quality and all your comments about usability and opinion about pros/cons and how much impact they have. I keep being convinced this is the right truck for me to get! Hope I find the right one for me this year!
You should make a video on an 2005 Honda cr-v EEx.
Yup, that goes to the GTI :)
Noisy lifter, blown head gasket?
This also the last honda to use vtec you can see on the engine cover the newer ones use i vtec maybe thats why it sounds diffrent
can you please review an S2000 and a Acura RSX...it would be a cool x-mas present for all of your viewers and honda fans like me!!!!!
It's a Honda... Great vehicle.
do you have any updates on your fit
Does it have that light steering like the pilot?
LOL
I wasn't expecting that much water coming out from the exhaust!
nice
Can the back tailgate door be locked
This car needs an update BADLY
The Tacoma is def a direct competitor but surprisingly the Ridgeline offers slightly more power over the Tacoma's 236 hp 4.0L V6, although the Toyota is more traditional which is why it's sells more. The compact to midsize truck market just needs a complete overhaul
This truck is one of my favorites. But this truck needs better fuel economy and a faster tuned engine.
Are you doing a DUI sobriety walk in the intro?
why do you have a vw key fob ? is that the gti's?
I have always liked the ridgeline almost bought one, but the low towing rating and the gas mileage let me down. I think that was part ofthe reason they did not sell a crap load of them like everything else. Just imagine if they would design a small V8.
the gas millage is killer deal is so heavy for the v6 3.5
Once you pull the shifter towards you to get it out of park, push it away from you and it will stop at D
Our 2012 CR-V has those crappy graphics in the NAV and that's our biggest gripe with the whole vehicle
I swear on every car he reviews he fucking fills the ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH WATER
It looks like this truck was based off the Honda Odessy mini van frame? Not sure what generation Odessy it was based off of? If that is the case this truck probably has a car like drive in it.
Its based off the honda pilot 06
Why did so much water come out?
WHY does Honda NOT put one of the Acura V6's in this?? 250HP with 247lb-ft isnt too amazing to be in a truck. I say that because the guys that hate on the Honda drive what ever with 350HP and 320lb-ft.. I understand its for fuel economy and everything. If the power bands weren't too up high, I would have put in the J37A4 from the TL SH-AWD. Can't wait to see the Ridgeline for 2014, supposed to be updated and EarthDreams should be good to it. I really love Honda/Acura's Niche's with V6's.
actually the civic is the oldest being around since the 70s then it's the accord then then Ridge line :)
Oldest without a major update.
True the ridge line stayed the same
Basically all its life
+Jdm Guy yes I think that's what the guy was trying to say.
Ah OK lol
i dont understand is it a company car?
The dash is hard plastic and cheap feeling but it's rare to find premium materials like that in a pick up truck
The RTL trim cost about $6-8k less than the comparable full-size pickup. For the extra $6-8k, you get alot more capacity for the same mpg, more power, and more interior space. But the Toyota Tacoma, which is a competiator, has a more effieient V6 engine making more power, better capacity, and more cab options. Good video
on the rev up the truck was very spitty.
@Dillon1791 honda makes acuras engines... And this car again is based off an old platform so the engine, and tech is dated
this is the kind of car that would be like comparing the volkswagen golf (or rabbit) to an elantra. the golf is kind of in a class of it's own. i say instead of comparing it to the rest of everything else like everyone loves to look at it for what it is. good handling, reliable dated old honda. they are nice cars but people oviously should know its not supposed to be a heavy duty intense truck. that's the point its for efficent packaging and better handling body on frame wont offer.
Review the 09 pilot or above
Did you guys hear, this is the oldest vehicle in Honda's lineup
Bloopers please!!
you walk funny
can you tour a chevrolet avalanche
It has a VTEC?
WolfDogFilms yup!
Starts it up and sends it right into the ketchup.
06:58 It had a little bit of water in the exhaust
Love the AWD, love the car-like ride, love the magic seat, love the lockable trunk. I don't tow or go off road, so it's the perfect truck for me. Wish it got better MPG though.
Doesn't that bother you? I ended up in a Pilot after a divorce. It's great. The AWD is great in bad weather, or on gravel roads, even muddy areas where I fish are no problem.
But, it's a J35 v6 and it gets worse gas mileage than my Jeep! Seriously, what's up with that?
If you hold the lock/unlock button on the key, it will roll all windows up/down. This guy does not know the vehicle.
I meant hit it once, then hold.
Yes , I can make all windows go up & down on the driver's side .
Such a great feature that seems to impressive everyone I show. Just one of the many surprises the Gen 1's have (outside of the immense storage pockets)
lol he means it hasnt been redesigned since 06' unlike the others. accord, civic etc
6:54 Hopefully your camera was water-proof :l
The First Generation, I think, is kinda cool, hip and unique, looks-wise. The Second Generation is so ugly it looks like Chris Bangle was a design consultant for Honda at the time. Yikes!!
I didn't know it was the oldest. I thought for sure the Civic or Accord was surely the oldest on the line.
(Real True Honda Fan Here!!!)
I can't stand people comparing them to new cars. No shit the GPS is shit its 12yrs old
the standard model would be plenty to hide a ARpistol. fuck it i rather have the basic model especially when i dont need a crummy inline nav with the rtl when i can usw my smart phone.
