ES300 door with broken linkage - what to aim for to get the door open

In this video I show what you need to move and in what direction to get your ES300 door open if the linkage is not functioning and you can't get the door panel off.
If the door won't open, you can't take off the door panel, so you need to do this from the top of the door between the glass. It may be difficult, but it's doable.
With a small slim jim or skinny flat bar, I could get the door open knowing this.

insert the key into the driver's door. turn to the right and hold for two seconds, the window will auto roll down giving you access to your vehicle.

Why is this such a common problem? After this happened I googled it and it’s pretty common, absolutely insane that the door gets stuck closed this often, come on Toyota what the hell

What year is your lexus ? Don't see that nub in my 2003 es 300.
