Just watched the episode on Waypoint TV. Good stuff. Just wondering if you practice what you preach about the conditions of our oceans. Did you collect that floating tarp where you were catching the tripletail? Maybe the floating box??? Every little bit helps. Let’s leave it better than we found it!!!! Tight lines Capt 🎣🎣😃

      Hey!
Thanks for watching, it means a lot.
In most situations, yes. Collection of debris and trash out of our waterways is crucial for maintaining a clean, healthy estuary.
In the case, the debris found offshore actually serves as a mini ecosystem. The tarp serves as a refuge for bait, which then brings in the fish. Removing the tarp would remove all of this artificial Habitat.
Now let’s say we were inshore, (ex mosquito lagoon, Tampa bay, in the marsh…) absolutely, that tarp would have been removed and in a heart beat. It serves no purpose in those (and similar) locations.
I appreciate your concern and making sure I’m on the up and up
      -Jonathan
