Reason he’s using Wyll is because he’s gonna get the Infernal Rapier at the end of Act 2 for the Cambion summon.
That summoned Cambion is tied with Us for being the best sidekick. I just don't like his weird grunting

@@Fighterpilot555 imo the djinni is easily the best. Gets a free misty step per turn, and thunderwave for a near guaranteed instakill once per turn, maybe more depending on the fight. (Bhaal temple he goes hard...) He absolutely shreds the rest of act 3 too
@@hyena436if I had to guess, they probably said the cambion and Us are tied for the best because they’re “free”. They require no spell slots to be summoned. I don’t know if I agree, I certainly don’t disagree buuuut that might be their thinking. 🤷🏼♂️😄

technically if you side with glut and fight spaw, if you immediately focus down spaw and only kill him, all the other NPCs will become passive again, as glut effectively takes over the hivemind and all the denizens follow his command.

In act three you can get Slights of the Seelie: Summon Deva in Lorroakan's Tower. You can learn it with Wizard and get to summon a Deva using a level 5 spell slot.
yeah it's in a hidden room in the vault, easy to miss.
With like 156 hp it’s super busted on my warlock

Console away. The best thing about these challenges is seeing what's possible. Its not like you'd be making something you couldn't get otherwise- its just saving you having to replay all of ACT 1 for no good reason.

@@WilkuPainterconsidering he’s allowing himself to reload I assume that’s what he’s effectively doing. (The only way to reload a death is to move over to that special custom mode)

To make the grym fight easier, you can do the same strategy you did in the video, but instead use a minor illusion to lure grym towards the hammer. Then use the skeleton to shoot the hammer lever. Took me 4 hammers to bring it down.
For the dwarf stuck in the mushroom field, Glut doesn't trigger the mushrooms.
use mage hand and move the dwarfs bag closer to him, then he will misty step out
Snatch the Boots of Speed off the gnome. Then you can use turn based mode to move, dash, and click heels. That’s more than enough movement to get to him before the turn ends

you can also enter turn based mode and the mushrooms wont trigger. they only blow up if you end your turn near one
U can also go around by leaping onto the ledge on the side and then walking across and then waypoint out

3. Fighting glut doesn’t actually make any of his summons turn against you, but they do go into this weird limbo state where they are neutral NPCs. Longresting and coming back to the bulette will make it aggro on you, however. Source: I tried to do this last week
you must have had a bug, because when I turned against glut I had to fight his summon

You should def console command the shadow lantern when you get there. Makes the run more interesting really seeing all summons

Oh, I get it. Even if you don't complete Honour Mode by reloading a save, you still get the enemies with legendary actions. So it's the hardest difficulty.
Ye. Any honor mode campaign that ends can be continued as a custom game from the save. It's all the features of honor mode minus the honor of completing the game without experiencing a party wipe.
by extension its either custom difficulty or dishonor mode
If you push the spider matriarch down the hole to the underdark you can actually make glut resurrect her

One thing I learned from my evil run is that you only need to take out Spaw for the fight to end as Glut does his voodoo magic cutscene. I learn something new every video of your's I watch, keep up the great content.

Heads up for future challenge runs. You don’t have to sneak around the intellect devourers. You can jump up next to them and avoid them while getting a good chest and some exp. This avoids the risk of being seen.
Also when it comes to the fight at the grove, if you have enhanced leap prepared, you can use it to jump up on the wall and just blow the rally horn every turn. The NPCs will never die in that case.
I love the challenge runs you do, always entertaining to see the creative ways you tackle the self-imposed limits!

I remember using Glut to reanimate the Bulette after beating it for the first time; that thing one-shot Spore-Leader Spaw in one hit in my Durge playthrough fr, absolutely obscene summon lmao; great video btw :3
I remember watching another playthrough were someone also was using the Glut Bulette strategy and when they decided to go against Glut the Bulette stayed an ally

Great video! Next time to deal with grim make sure you complete hag quest earlier and take "second marriage" wand (or any summons will do tbh) you just spawn them from top right below the hammer so grim always moves there to attack. All you need to do is shoot a lever couple of times and it's done. 5 minutes max :) Zombie from wand is just convenient since you can spawn him without any spell slots million times.

Great Vid! For me, as a 300 hours player, the hardest fight in Act 1 is against the flamming fists, if you don"t cheese it. It has 2-3 level 6 enemies, but is worth for the sword and xp. I recommend doing the fight after they enter the burning house, so you separate them and they lose turns moving.
2nd hardest fight is Grymforge for me, because he"s level 10, lmao. But he is actually dumb and you can hammer him.

also fyi for the grym fight you can use the imp to get grym to go under the hammer by recasting invisibility under the hammer, letting grym walk there, and activating the hammer with an arrow to speed up the fight! very cool video :)

I know this might be a bit late, but it’s still on the topic of summons. you can get a stupidly powerful summon in act 2 by playing as an oathbreaker paladin and using control dead on the spectator from the flask by killing it and letting it get resurrected by the shadow curse. For anyone doing a similar challenge, feel free to try this out
If you side with spaw, gluts resurrected creature will be on your side. You would have the bulet on your side against glut.
seems like a lot of people don't know you can beat grym in around 5 turn by using the massive forge hammer while he's super heated, it does around 120-150 damage and causes him to waste his next action sometimes
For the Raphael fight I think I had like 20 summons on my first playthrough. I fully believe this challenge will be easier than others you’ve done
So excited for the the next part of this. I'd vote for cheating the shadow-weave lantern in (I assume that is what you wanted Gale for) because I'm curious how you want to use it.

when you fight glut the bulette actually stays loyal to you instead of glut, its some real dumb programming for that interaction

12:47 - fun fact, you don’t need to actually slaughter the entire colony here, you can just focus down Spaw, which automatically ends the fight with Glut assuming full control.
A tip for or those who utilize Glut. Just before the Duergar battle ends, control the reanimated creature to jump to its death in the river chasm so you don’t have to deal with it when you start a fight with him.

You can make the Grym cheese much faster by using Minor illusion and dragging him under the forge hammer and then shooting an arrow to drop the hammer
it's a tradition of mine that my second playthrough of a game i like is always going to be a challenge run. Only summons solo was going to be my thing too, but i was not letting myself inflict any condition on my enemies

For the last nautiloid fight, if you manage to find a potion of speed, you can drink it, dash twice, and get to the console in one turn
Wyll is the type of guy to call the homies to be emotional support while he takes in a food delivery

For the first fight at the grove, with the wizard jump spell, you can take a longer route and get above the gate, letting you spam the war horn for the rally buff with temp hp every turn.
For future reference in the Grym fight, save some magical items and even just normal weapons, and from that spot, throw them at him. He's vulnerable to bludgeoning damage, so it'll usually be about 20-30 damage per throw, so that can speed it up immensely. Get some Haste or something, and you can get a good 80 damage or so a turn

Might be worth to try abyss beckoners once you can summon ghouls (it might just be flying ghouls) since they cannot be driven mad
For the Grym fight you can use Returning Pike or a pact weapon and throw it at him and he should go down in like 15 turns. This is how I've done it in my honor runs to not die/ waste time.
I've always wanted to put a character as a Bless bot with Mystra's blessing and didn't know that it just lasted 10 turns regardless. Definitely gonna try now.
I’m pretty sure that even if you don’t side with glut the resurrected Bulet will still be your companion and will kill glut

When I got Glut on my side, I went straight over to kill his foes. He then powered up with more health and ranged spells. I didn't have to go back to Spaw for a while. And in the end, I just killed Glut in my party without opening further dialog.

Give me a challenge run video and P5 music and I'm a happy guy. That soundtrack just never gets old.
For grim you can add onto that cheese by just spam throwing bludgeoning weapons. Tavern brawler obviously helps but you can do it as anyone since the height of the item thrown does damage
Don't know if you'll see this but I have an advice for Grim - throw stuff at him. Even a mage hand throwing boots at him will do a lot more dmg cause he is vulnerable to bludgeoning dmg when he is overheated
Btw, for Grym, you can further cheese it by throwing things of sufficient weight. The height means it does 20 damage minimum, even if you miss.
My favorite tactic for the phase spider queen is use a summon to lore her to the web over the pit then blasting sending her corpse in to the Underdark… to be reanimated by Glut!
TECHNICALLY if you use CC like hold person/monster, stuns, or sleep you increase the damage dealt towards that target so it could be argued you casting that spell caused damage, but it allows for more tactics and makes the video come out sooner so I don't mind, but some could argue it invalidates the challenge
Also the imp from pact of the chain gets his action back whenever he starts a surprise round. Don’t know if this is intentional but it allows you to kill any targets below 20 health, then fly away, go invisible, then combat ends. Even better at level 5 with the extra attack

you dont have to side with Glut, for whatever reason when he becomes hostile Bulette remains as your ally
the spaw fight can easily be cheesed in normal runs. Just thunderwave spaw down by the river and have a sneaking party member (and glut) attack. Usually a firebolt will do 20-ish damage to spaw and gluts multi attack is enough to finish him. Though be warned you can break your oath doing this fight even if you only kill spaw.
10:45 I don't know if this has already been patched but the strongest summon would be the zombie Arabella, carry her body to the under dark after Kagha kills her and use Glut to resurrect her and make the entire region trivial
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but you can use minor illusion to get grym to go to the middle.

Get the infernal rapier and multiclass into wizard to learn the scroll in the mage's tower in act 3 and you get two free summons from the 6th level cleric spell. Combined with the grimoire and greater summons (some of which get a free haste spell!) And summoner builds are nuts
