  • Andres Marin didn’t grow up in the shadow of 8,000 meter peaks. In Colombia, he didn’t cut his teeth on world-class ice climbing or impeccable rock.
    But now he does.
Living in Ouray, Colorado - Andres, “can go ice climbing, running, rock climbing, and ski touring, all out my front door.” This playground of ice, rock, and snow allows Andres to push himself when training for larger objectives:
“My mentors and my friends have shown me what’s possible. Nowadays I spend most of my time pushing myself in the big mountains…putting it all together, the ice climbing, the mixed climbing, and the exploration.”
Home Crags are important. Our Home Crags shape us, our climbing, and our perspective. We make connections with the natural and vertical environments closest to us and these worlds allow us to hone our skills beyond what we thought previously possible.
What’s your Home Crag? How has it shaped you and your climbing?

Ice always is different due to how during the night moisture creates the different shapes. Does it make sense to define a "first ascent" in ice climbing? After one week that ascent will look so different for the following climbers...
