Videos of delivery drivers throwing packages around really makes me see red. It's not funny, it's pathetic. If they can't be arsed to do their jobs properly, they should just quit so someone who'll be grateful for the work can do it - someone who will take some pride in it. I know most delivery drivers do their jobs professionally (I did it myself for years, it's a good job) but those shown here have no business being in that line of work. Do it properly or don't do it at all. People paid good money for those packages, so proper care and respect should be shown with every single one of them.

I ordered a small desk off Amazon last year and the box was torn open from the delivery person sliding it up the concrete stairs to my porch (there are five steps and the package was 20lbs). Even had video of the driver doing it. Amazon refused to replace the desk bc FedEx delivered it, not them (which is fair) so I contacted FedEx about it and they also said they aren’t required to replace it but never said why. Ive delivered stuff before so I know it’s a lot of work, but all employers inform you about the large amount of manual labor required & someone who doesn’t want to do that shouldn’t take the job.
I actually got a guy fired. Turns out, him being ultra-careless with my package was the last straw. It was clearly marked as a fragile medical device. And the damage was such that the device was completely useless. We had video and eyewitness evidence that showed that the guy had zero respect for the contents and the warning labels. The new guy actually makes sure things arrive in as pristine condition as he can make them. He’s also our new neighbor. We like him. And his dog
My favourite was the "wobbling printer" - It's clearly going to fall off the table, but the person just films it until it DOES fall off, then acts surprised.

I used to work there, it's so fast paced that at least 500 to 900 dollar in damages every night. Anything they can save gets repackaged or re stacked then shipped out. I said that while working there no wonder it's flat all the time.
I've seen the car wash one probably 100+ and laugh every single time. The package ones are why I have items delivered to a business address! Boxes dumped in the rain, out in the yard, crushed... and my blue-collar work involving equipment, there is NO 'horseplay'. There used to be, and it was fun and all, until we had a death. That one was purely momentary carelessness and wasn't from fooling around, but it put the fear of God into everyone at the time, and even after 10+ years nobody fools around. Enough people remember it to create a work environment where we don't need OSHA to tell us to behave safely, and I've seen co-workers call out the kids for trying anything at all, and it stops instantly. Done it myself. "We're not scooping up brains again. Cut it out or quit."

As an Amazon delivery driver I can confirm that some home power lines are extremely low. You can usually spot it but during the fall and winter when it gets dark super early things can happen.
They should have a minimum height clearance. That way nobody has to worry about it that drives a big truck. You would think as a homeowner. You would make sure of that, just so you didn't lose power or whatever the lines were running.

Trucks at least have the "excuse" of dynamically altering their route, but trains know their entire route in advance and the clearances needed, overpasses over train tracks are _presumably_ built to a set minimum standard height, and train cars _presumably_ are built to be lower than that height (their load might not be, but that car was enclosed so a non-issue).
Bridges are not standardized, and all cars are not the same height. Autoracks like in the video and double stacked intermodal cars are the tallest. Whoever signed off on this route is in trouble

Cycle paths are a rarity in most Eastern European countries and cycling on the pavement is either allowed or 'not allowed but tolerated as long as you keep an eye out for all the pedestrians and mind your speed.' The cyclist did neither, but considering it was some delivery cyclist, I'm not surprised. I've been to Kyiv 6 years ago and saw only 2 cyclists or so in the 9 days I was there. The hills there are not to blame, as cycling in Austria and Switzerland is considered very normal as well: there are just no cyclepaths in Kyiv and traffic is absolutely murderous, so they ride on the pavement. And just like motorists that have to park on the pavement (very normal in Kyiv and probably in many other places) they took great care in doing so. It was a big city, but I experienced far more courtesy than in Amsterdam, a place I live close to.
I used to do early morning stock at Petsmart, and the only accident I ever had was accidentally pushing a pallet full of 50 lb bags of dry dog food off the top shelf and onto the floor on the other side. We were cleaning up dog food for an hour. My manager was really cool about it. It wasn't the first time someone had done that. 🤣
