@@WindsurfingTV I can imagine. I remember it took me 20 minutes to find a watch when I was bathing in 1 meter of water. It is never exactly where you think it could be. Not to say when you have to cover hundreds of square meters. Lost forever or gift for lucky guy :-).
Looking forward to see you with both setups and the speed device. I am curious to see how much you can gain between the skinny speed board and the 116L. Too bad you lost the speed device..
LOve your videos mate wish i could still get out on the water used to do a lot of speed surfing here in Australia stuffed the knee up years ago when the fin got stuck in a boat line doing atleast 55 to 60 km pcl mcl all gone
Ben switch your Insta360 for a GoPro MAX ... it's got GPS build in. Not as accurate as a dedicated GPS tracker but a good backup... especially when you loose the actual GPS tracker 😂
Ben, what camera are you using? Many good ones have GPS logging to be used for the telemetry data overlay. It does not help for knowing how fast you're going, but for video montage it looks awesome. GoPro and Garmin both have it. If you have a separate GPS it's a lot more work, but can still be done.
Ben....when you focus on numbers over feelings you lose the fun. Forget about the gps every now and then when not in competition. Windsurfing has to be fun!
OMG those GW60 watches have the WORST bands! Almost everyone who has one, (including me), has had the band break at some point even if the watch is brand new. I hope they redesign the band and make it stronger because WAY too many people have had this issue. (I would definitely recommend the Motion GPS if you can get one. They record so much information and they have a nice big screen so it's easy to see your speeds while you're sailing along 😎)
I've been lucky twice, once the pin came out of the band but it stayed on with the rubber tab. Next time the band just fell off when I got home. Mine is held together with gaffer tape on the underside. I would suggest doing something like that even if the watch is new.
GW60 definitely THE worst gps watch around there, no warranty, takes water, battery issue, usb connexions issue... yes they do record the time better but only when they work !!! just spend your money elsewhere...
i'm sure you can still find the GPS! Anyway, I bought myself a Polar Vantage M which has GPS+GLONASS. No doppler effect, which is a must if you want to be given more credibility in gps-speedsurfing site, but pretty good in my opinion. You could always export the GPX track and filter it to make sure results are good
Mate, Martinhal is so low and clear that you could probably just get on a sup board and look for it, if anything, some scuba diving equipment could do the trick as well.
Not much guiding going on here. Was at Mersea Island today. I forgot my watch so have no clue about my speed. But it was windy and it sure felt fast. Would love to know what to do to go faster. Higher/lower boom. Straight / bent legs whatever but give us some tips 😁😉
Cha0s The ‘guide part’ is don’t lose your GPS watch... and if you haven’t got one.. get one! As with out a GPS it’s impossible to workout if you are going fast or Not. Obviously this was Not the plan of the video.. but seemed a shame to not use the footage.
I hit 80.6kph on a 9m kite pretty easy and comfortable. On a kite you don’t have that feeling of an eminent disaster that you get from a windsurfer at speed. 😳
Almost couldn't bear to watch windsurf videos in lockdown... Now we can go again, I'm loving it!
Big Ben you are in paradise!!!! Look at that place...lucky lucky man. You and Simmer are a great match, looked fast to me 🤙🤙🤙 cheers!
Ben, order a mask and a snorkel too. Way to spend your time searching for your old GPS during no wind time :-) hahaha
Joel Erin trust me I went looking!! Nothing 🙈
Windsurfing.TV may be you will make happy a lucky windsurfer 😅
If the gps is still sending it should be possible to spot it and get it, shouldn’t it? Is it deep?

Gunnar Asmussen is using the Motion GPS. It makes him fly with 40 knots even with the big gear. So give it a try

Ben, get the Motion GPS from Julian Le
Very Nice footage especially on the water...
Motion logger or full Motion from Julien.
Love the song at 4:25. Local Aussie windsurfers called Claiming it Anyway
Love it! Well done. Thank you and next time I would like to see a NICE gybe, OK? Hahaha! 😀😁😂👍

Same here, lost the pin of the GW60 in a jibe and could magically save the watch. Always to be used with gaffer tape... annoying
I tagged you on Facebook in a post were a friend sells a new still in the box GT31.
How about using the gps on the GoPro ? At least for the time being. Not sure how great it is.

found it in amazon for less than 150€!
I feel the garmin fenix 6 is what most use if you're looking for a watch deal.
What is your favourite harness brand Ben?
Check out jmg-app for Garmin devices. It's the most comprehensive and visually excellent windsurfing app I've come across.
6:51, best face ))
Is that an actual hollowed out watermelon on your head at 0:24?
Jettemausbeta yes 😁
Nice one! Maybe a waterproof bag and a GPS app (windsport tracker) could be an emergency solution for lost gps devices :-)
Only problem is that it's not as accurate when your screen is off
@@yonataninbar799 and that's only for Android devices
Why don't you use the GPS of the go pro? Nice Video
