The sole itself is not flat, it has a curve to it. I mean the lugs in the middle are lower than the lugs on the outside so causes some discomfort in the middle of the foot at the ball of the foot. I noticed in this video that these appear to also have that same curve at least it looks like it does as I looked closely at that part when it was in the video.

Great content. As a fellow biker I would love to see you tear apart some riding boots, like the Rev'it! Marshall boot. Also anything made by Danner, very comfy, mine survived a couple years in a steel factory. Cheers

Just bought an industrial sewing machine for leather, won't be able to afford your boots for a while. Maybe next year.
    Congrats! They look awesome!

Buddy, I’ve been watching your channel for a little while now. LOVE Nicks boots.
But don’t need a big logger heel for everyday/work where. THIS boot may be the PERFECT mix/boot for everyday. The one I ACTUALLY may save up for a WHILE to buy.
I love the rugged look. It’s the perfect height heel. And I agree with you, the touch of different color leather on the inside is NICE
    GREAT JOB!

I wish I was into boots at the time this bot came out. This is an insanely beautiful boot that ages magnificently. When I finally get a pair of Nick's, I'll see if they can make me something like this.

I saw these boots I bought these boots. Don’t care what they cost because I know quality when I see it. Thank you for devoting your time to what matters in life. Quality is what is going down the drain these days, and I’m glad to see people fighting for it!

Have you heard of "DaVinci Footwear"?! It's a minimalist hand-made boot company and I really dig the pair I got! Maybe check them out and maybe slice em in half 😉

There is a small tannery near me in England that makes leather for saddles using the traditional method. The leather spends 18 months going through baths filled with fluids from oak bark.
It has that nice leather smell lacking in chrome leather. The product is understandable expensive.

Kind of off subject from this video but I was watching a previous video but i was watching an older video where you mentioned doing a video of men's verses women's boots and seeing what if any difference there was in construction. Is that series still going to happen? Also there's a lesser known (at least in the US) Italian boot brand called Cofra who makes a ton of different boots for men and women, I've been using them a few years and think they might be an interesting brand to explore, apparently they're one of Europe's biggest safety foot wear produces.
Thanks for all your videos, I've learned a ton from them. It really helps knowing what to watch for in a boot when you work in a retail/warehouse and outdoor environment like I do with severe foot problems.

Would you consider doing a tactical style duty boot? There are so many people wearing tactical boots every day for work and most of them are miserable.

I'm replying for the sake of this being the most recent video: I searched and found no results for Wolverine boots. Have you ever had a go at them? They're rather budget boots (which I've tended to stick to), and I was just wondering about your opinion of their build quality.
    An important edit:
I don't even mean their 1000 mile boots. I mean their under $200 work boots lol. Cloth lining, yes, is a huge minus. I even have my older pair with split soles I'd be willing to donate for the purpose, if they're wanted.

I found your channel by complete accident but I'm so happy I did, I've learned so much from you about the construction of boots and what to look out for when buying. I just ordered a Pair of those Boots, I hope they last me at least 2 winters. I have yet to find me a pair that last me even 1. So don't worry a true Stress test will be happening, and you'll be getting some pictures of the boots in action.

I wish Nicks would add these to their regular catalog. Legit I think this is the hottest thing they made. Perfect balance across all the things.

You gotta remove/grind off the burr created by the grinding of the bevel on the blade. Touch up the back side with the angle grinder trying to keep flat. Honestly maybe even then take a handheld strop to it (sure you can make one haha) Just the same concept as when sharpening any blade, really.
You do that and “Tina” will slice thru *anything* 😬
