Demon's Souls is a 2020 action role-playing game developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. The game was released as a launch title for the PlayStation 5 in November. It is a remake of Demon's Souls, originally developed by FromSoftware for the PlayStation 3 in 2009. Japan Studio assisted on its development, which makes Demon’s Souls its last game before its merger with Team Asobi. Demon's Souls received critical acclaim from critics, who praised its gameplay, visuals, technical aspects, and improvements over the original game. It sold over 1.4 million copies by September 2021.

I’ve beat Elden ring about 14 times including a soul lvl1 and never got bored of it so would 100% wanna see a 2nd playthrough

Mati, 2 tips for you. When you’re in body form, do not die in world. Off yourself in the nexus by falling, then go about the worlds in soul form. After each boss, you will regain your body form. Then jump off in the nexus again each time. Dying in world in body form will lower your world tendency, resulting in some extra areas being locked off (making some items unreachable too) and tough red enemies everywhere. Also, when you beat a boss, DO NOT consume their soul. They have uses other than the measly amount of souls they give.
I’ve been spamming this info for a while now. The only knock on this game is that they don’t explain this mechanic well and I was half way through the game before I figured it out. Had to completely restart.
I laughed when Mati first entered the Nexus and was like, oh can I fall n die here? 😂

Stoked to go on this ride with you man, I have been around since Elden Ring days, but each playthrough of a game gets more entertaining, more emotional since you are winding down on FromSoft titles, and we feel the same sadness as you. Dark Souls 3 was my personal favorite to watch so far, the Slave Knight Gael fight remains as my all time favorite boss fight in all of gaming history. Anyways, best of luck to you Mati.

I love how you can see the initial souls DNA that evolves into the series we know today. FS progressively made their bosses more aggressive and faster. It can be jarring or feel underwhelming cause the bosses here are really easy or gimmicky save for maybe one. I know you like harder bosses, but I hope you can appreciate its simplistic charm as much as I did. It's a nice change of pace to where the levels are harder than the boss.

Just started this too. You did a lot better than I did on the hardest boss: finding the monumental.
Man watching someone do a first play through is glorious. Especially in that first level it teaches you so many things. It’s also always “detouring” you away from the objective. Like all you have to do is get past that dragon and it opens the boss gate but the game is like “are you sure you want to go that way?”
The run backs are truly brutal! I love this game so much 😂 Make sure you’re in soul form outside the nexus, if you think it’s hard now, wait until your world goes to pure black tendency! The more times you die in human form you’ll tip the world tendency. Not advisable on a first playthrough 😂 love your channel 👍

Let’s go!!! I got platinum on this one! Gonna be an awesome ride! Hell ya Matti! Biggest thing to know is that yeah…you get one bonfire per level/boss…so ya know do with that information what you will but yeah lol. If you die a lot in human form in a the specific world you are in you will make that world harder. This is called “world tendency.” Be wary of this at all times. This is why it is always better to explore and go through worlds in ghost form. You can die in the nexus and be fine. But dying in human form within levels are no bueno. To fix world tendency killing that levels boss (demon) will fix it. You can check world tendency in the tab within the menu. This is that eye symbol but there are 2 different ones. The world tendency and your character tendency. The character one is portrayed by the eye symbol on the top level corner of the screen. You change this by killing npcs, stuff like that. For the most part this should be pure white if you do normal stuff I believe. Changing this to dark tendency will allow different things to show up in the worlds you make darker tendency.
You will also have a limit on inventory. I know …it sucks we all hate it lol, but that stockpile Thomas guy in the nexus is your best friend for this reason. You can always remotely send items to him if you’re maxed out. So remember that you don’t have to trash everything to make room.

Hey Mati, this is the FIRST Souls game. As a result EVERY other souls game draws heavily from this game from art design, to souls tropes, NPCs, quests, and mechanics. Music tropes too, but the remake was made by Bluepoint and not FromSoft and they did not preserve the original music.
For example, Phalanx inspired Rom the Vacuous Spider’s mechanics. Phalanx also inspired the enemies in the painted world of DS1. And Phalanx inspired the silver tears in Elden Ring.
The Elden Ring intro was a call back to Demon’s Souls intro. The way it is only a slide show and they only mention the NPCs you will meet.
The Elden Ring main theme was inspired by the Demon's Souls main theme. Their motifs are very similar to the point that it can't be accidental.
Dark Souls 3’s firelink shrine was inspired by the structure of the Nexus. The thrones are structured similarly to the archstones.
Second, we would LOVE you to react to the original (admittedly more iconic) osts. You can even mute the in game music and play the original ost on a phone or separate tab to kind of simulate the original feeling.

LOVED THIS! Demon Souls is so special. Def rough around the edges in some areas (bosses lol), but really cool and unique in many ways. Also love the theories that it shares a universe with Bloodborne, which as both Sony owned IPs, would make more sense than Demon Souls being connected to any other fromsoft game.

BluePoint Games did an amazing job with the Demon's Souls remake, and keeping faithful to the original game-play mechanics.
One thing no one can deny this is the best looking game I've ever seen, the texture, effects everything looks amazing
I havent played the remake, but damn it looks good. The sound design however is whats really blowing me away. Souls games have always had good sound design, but this is another level.

You may or may not be surprised how much stuff from this game is in Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3, and even Bloodborne. This first boss was in Dark Souls in the painted world.
Soooo the fun and challenging part of Demon's Souls is there is only one check point per level lol. So when you die you just have to do the level all over again lol. Because it was their first game, they didnt totally have checkpoints down and short cuts and things just yet. Love this game though it is gorgeous! Excited to see it Mati! Lets go!!

This is an amazing remastering of the original Demon's Souls, the game that started the Souls genre, and the sole reason I bought a PS3.

For all of quality of life dark souls brought, this was the first in the formula and their return to dark fantasy from Kingsfield, the atmosphere in demon souls is unmatched, its far more oppressive, weird and bleak with lovecraftian elements
funny story I remember my friend got this thinking it was dark souls and was like "this is impossible" and i was talking to him like "what the undead asylum?" and he was like "the fucking what" and he shows me it and i'm like Oh no this is like darksoul's abusive father but in the best way possible 🤣and he tells me he thought the xbox version of dark souls was just called demons souls
