JonJorgenson Hey Jon, been watching your videos but you like most Preachers have the alcohol answer wrong. Pastors need to give up the booze- When I came to Christ I gave up alcohol, smoking, swearing and other vices, coming from a long line of drunks. I then had Pastors almost encouraging me to take it up again and telling me Jesus drunk wine. I thought the church would be one safe place for me. I don’t agree with how most Pastors speak about alcohol. Paul tells Timothy to have wine for his stomach illness and that old women shouldn’t have too much wine. However the Old Testament commanded Priests to abstain from wine and Paul commands Elders And Bishops to remain sober. Jesus never drank wine either. Why? So that they do not cause someone like myself to stumble. This is so unpopular because most Preachers hate giving up their drink. Only when they give up the the booze will a church see revival because it is simply not safe for people like me. Kia Kaha

It depends what God you're talking about. small g god called satan, or the true God called Yahveh, who became a human being and His name is Jesus Christ, to save us from our sins.
He, the creator God, does love us all, all of us men, that is why He died for us on the cross. We're all wonderfully and fearfully made(psalm 139:14) and in the beginning (Genesis chapter 2 verses 1-3)God said it was all very good. But we're nothing but flesh and our beauty is fleeting. We're not by nature truly, in an absolute sense, all of those attributes the guy listed above. But Jesus Christ can help you, by His strength, to help you to become those in the true sense.

Atheists, do understand that you have your own opinion about things and the religious have their own reasons to have the faith they have. Just don't spread hatred against people who believe in the existence of God just because you don't. As far as the video conveys, for me, it is the truth.
Religious people hated atheists first, they condemn them and think them as literal mad men. Now that atheism is more common makes sense why they would bring hate.

Jon, I don't usually post comments on RUclips videos, but this video has had a huge impact on my life. I am involved in a men's ministry that is local in the Detroit area but is beginning to spread. "I am awesome" is what we are all about. but for me personally, I have struggled to know who I am as a man. Lately, since I saw your video, God has used it to remind me of who I am as a man, a husband, a father, and a friend. Thank you for your ministry, be encouraged, God is using you to empower His people to rise above their present circumstances and see His story being played out in their lives.

To not believe in God, I've noticed many atheists go out of their way to talk about Someone who they claim doesn't exist. If they don't believe, why do they care so much that someone else does? Sounds more like they may be angry at God, not that they believe He doesn't exists. Anger at God can still be the beginning of a wonderful relationship with Him. Talk to Him and let Him heal you. He can handle your true feelings, even if they're dark and angry. Just give them over to Him and let it out. Ask to know Him, for who He truly is.

9 years later and anytime I encounter someone who is struggling with identity, I immediately recommend these videos and I will continue to.
The Anima Series videos are breathtaking. The first time I saw the one for women, I cried. I have known so many wonderful women throughout my life, many of whom never heard these kinds of positive words said about themselves. I suppose that might be partly because I am past the half-century mark in age, and when I was growing up things were much different. With all of the emotion that the video for women stirred in me I was eager to find one for men. I was not let down. The first time I watched this one I cried also.
It may surprise some people, but many men, in the secret places inside ourselves where we hide these things, do not believe in themselves either.
I know I don't.
Viewing this video gives me hope, courage, and the will to soldier on when sometimes I would really just like to give up.
You can be anybody, of any faith, or of no faith, and get something from this man's words. What is wrong with saying empowering things about every human being? Our society has become increasingly negative, and perhaps there is justification for that point of view. However, hearing empowering positive things will definitely help us change that negative feeling.
So, keep spouting your words Jon and I, as well as many others, will keep listening.

To all the women in the comments complaining about how this video is sexist... Well your the one who has a stereotypical picture of a man in your head. We need motivation sometimes too. We need a little bit of inspiration sometimes. But we live in a world were if we show weakness even to our spouse, we are frowned upon. We are not machines all the time we have times where we have to break down and relax a bit. We have the love of humanity in our hearts for crying out loud. Yes a man should be strong but there is a time and a place where can finally let loose bottled frustration and sorrows.

Both of these videos (this one and the one for women) are sublime and true and, in my opinion, best viewed together. No matter your gender, you get the best takeaway from both, as men also deserve to be loved and have someone willing to die for them and women should also be reminded that they have the potential to change the world through the arts and sciences.
We really are not that different, and neither is the truth of who we are.

The only thing I slightly disagree with is the statement, "I am awesome". Because while we are beautiful creations of the living God, we most certainly are not awesome. We are wretched sinners, all falling short of God's standard. But that is why we need the gospel. In God's grace, he grants us that redemption of sin and reconciliation with Him as a result of it. It is by no means anything we do on our own, it all demonstrated the power and immense love and grace of God. So, no, on our own, we are far from awesome. But God, and what He can do through, now that TRULY is awesome

Please understand, that it's all about Jesus, and it's not man's or women's talent and abilities has real impact on the world, but the word of God and Holy Spirit. "But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth." (2 Corinthians 10:17-18)
I think he means that it's the talents that God has blessed them with and we use those blessings to impact the world
But we have to use them. Think of the parable of the talents. The people who went and used their gifts to bring in more got praised. The one who didn't, wasn't.

Hey Jon, just wanted to say thanks man. Your videos give me such hope. I'm currently at a turning point in my life and I feel for the first time the veil is finally lifting and I'm seeing reality and my relationship with Christ clearly for the first time. After years of trying and failing, I feel like I'm on the verge of finally breaking through the ties that bind. I feel like I can finally forgive myself. But more importantly once I'm there I want to roll up my sleeves and help fix this broken world. Your videos have really helped me see that. Thank you and praise God.

You know what really kills me? Some of the comments on videos like this. The comments below are valid, but in such a negative light. Where is the emphasis on the fact that a little love, a little good, a little uplifting can go a long way? Where is the emphasis on doing what you can and letting God take care of the rest... that we are not God but we strive to share His love and even if we don't tell the story perfectly that we have hope that God will use our talents and our message to bring people closer to Him? We are not called to be perfect, we are called to love one another and lift one another up. This "pseudo-evangelism" might be the very thing that causes someone to open their bible tonight.

Wow, what a beautiful and powerful message. I fell away from god for the last 8 years. I didn’t believe he existed the lack of meaning in my life, the belief that I didn’t matter, and the belief that I wasn’t loved put me in a deep depression for years to the point where I’ve considered suicide. I stumbled upon this video by accident about 2 months ago and it changed my life. It was the first step of many that brought back to the lord and made me a happy and confident man. GOD LIVES! HE LOVES US! What an amazing and beautiful life we have. I’m blown away everyday. How can I be sad when the lord has loved and blessed me so much!

All of this is true. Never believe a word if anyone tries to tell you you are anything less than what he says in this video.
And by the way, when he says “you are strong” that doesn’t mean you can’t cry. I find that a lot of times, being honest about how you feel takes more strength and courage than it does to hide it all.
