I remember in the late 90s when if you bought a few packs of film, you got a free Polaroid camera, i used to give them away to people hoping they would get hooked!!!
Damn! I saw a post in a Facebook group too with the exact same products. I messaged the seller and told me it was already sold, a few minutes after I made an offer. It was you Chris, you bought my dream set! :(
I’ve been wanting one of the new Polaroids for so long, but could find myself spending that much on one, plus still had to buy film, but a couple weeks ago I randomly went on eBay to see what listings there were, & I found a brand new, sealed Polaroid Now + pouch bundle, & the seller also included 2 packs of film all for $50 & free shipping!!!! I thought it was too good to be true, but everything arrived & it was perfect!
In 2012 i bought a bunch of polaroid cameras for 500¥ each (around 5$) and wanted to make a polaroid portrait business... Got talked out of it and it's one of my biggest regrets.
I have a cool money earning idea, if you live or have easy access to a popular travel destination, you could ask people to pay a little more than one photos worth for a photo of them instantly printed. People like vintage instant photos so it would work. And you'd get more money than you spend. For me, one polaroid photo is worth a little under £3 so id sell a holiday photo for about £4 or £5 if im skint.
I found a polaroid 600 in an abandoned storage unit and had SX-70 given to me by my uncle he was the original owner! They're both in great working condition 😊.
@Just Another Chris yes they were surprisingly in great condition. Both still work. I'm absolutely thrilled about the SX-70 camera. I can't wait to use it this summer.
Love the flipping’ geeks intro, so well done! Question, I would like to start shooting with instant cameras as a hobby, mainly landscape as I hike a lot. What camera should I get for that?
Awesome video! Ive noticed facebook marketplace slowly turning into eBay lol. The groups are the only reason I peek from time to time. Wonderful pickup though! Your Polaroids have made me start shooting instant again. I’d love a video on how you light shots & stuff 😃
Great video! :) The thing with buying used SX-70 cameras is that almost all of them have a very dirty lightmeter that requires servicing. I had to fix both of my vintage sx-70s to finally get the correct exposures from them (you can waste a lot film because of that and the film is not cheap).. and there is not a lot of places that can do it so i had to send my cameras to states. I think for the sx70 specifically it is better to spend a bit more and get the refurbished one to avoid all that problems :)
I have been going to target and staples, and just getting the expired film in those hard plastic cases for free, since there expired they can’t charge for it
Dude, you scored! I have been kinda wondering if I should add a S-X70 to my collection! I think I might either get one of those or a spectra. I just went to the Polaroid website and I’m wondering if you’ve seen the newest Polaroid Go camera? If you plan to get it will you post a review video? That would be awesome 👏🏼 thanks for the cool buying and selling tips 🙏🏼
Summary: The video shows a person explaining how to get free or heavily discounted film and cameras for their photography hobby. They discuss sourcing items from platforms like Facebook, OfferUp, Craigslist, and eBay, as well as joining groups for buying, selling, and trading. The speaker shares their experience of buying a camera bundle for $300 and selling individual items to make a profit, allowing them to essentially get free film. They also mention considering reviving a show to teach people how to buy, sell, and trade items effectively. Additionally, the speaker emphasizes the importance of diversifying content and sharing tips and tricks with their audience. They conclude by encouraging viewers to make art, find good deals, and consider subscribing for more content.
Sensible approach. Basically people selling bundles of stuff on eBay aren't clever - you can often make massive profits selling each item separately afterwards.

Cheapest polaroid go film i can find is $18 for 16. Is that the cheapest im gonna be able to get it as someone just doing it for fun? Im also a fan of black frame if that helps, but dont mind buying white frame if its cheaper
I really need the film because im starting a poloriod camera buisness but the film for my instax mini 11 is way to expensive where do i get cheap film because i want to start my dreams ! :)
Well if you think instax mini film is expensive at $14 for 20 photos than unfortunately your not going to like polaroid at $22 for 8 photos. Ni way around it.
I appreciated the information you presented here chris, and enjoyed the snippets of yoyr previous shows, thanks:) well, you're engaging, entertaining and informative, so i'd say it's a good idea to run with the 'teach the trade' idea you asked about in this vid. did you? what resulted, either way?? i came because i was thinking about buying a polaroid to take field shots of newly identified foragables out in the wilds. also for pics to stick into my project book of design ideas in wood, to show the end result of the original idea. also to take hardcopy images of my 3 foot acrylic on canvas paintings to carry as a sales swatch/style demo/mini portfolio. i am reading the polaroid site, but tbh, haven't yet formed a definitive opinion on which polaroid camera/system would best suit my needs, if I could only buy ONE, being a country mouse, not a slick city salaried type. your opinion?
What sort of group is it? If it is fellow enthusiasts trying to give good deals to other enthusiasts... I feel a wee bit dirty for then going on and flipping it on ebay for more. Hi I bought an old retro polaroid camera off ebay which came with 2x packs of very old film - the batteries are not working so I assume its expired film, but wondering if there is a fix here?
Ok if you see this pleaseeee. That one you were holding in the beginning. I have one. No idea what it is. If you could explain it I would appreciate it so much!!!!
i just go to target, buy the expired film, remove the packs from the packaging, then go back inside with the box and receipt, show them the expiration date and get a full refund.
i was hoping this would be an actual way to get cheap film instead of a pyramid scheme that only works in the US since almost no one from any other country has an interest in instant photography
I think if I ever come across a 680 or SX-70 converted to use 600 film I would die. I heard a rumor of a SX-70 modified with a rechargable battery that uses i-Type
So true!! But I think they may have changed the formula recently because in the round frame photos the vibrance of the photos are unlike anything else before it.
I had an instant film Kodak camera in the 70s and had it no time before Poloroid shut Kodak's camera and film packs out of production, with a wave of the Lawsuit Wand. I heard rumors that a certain Polaroid film pack would work on that camera but with no internet in the 70s - I could not find the detailed info I needed. That Kodak camera was eventually tossed. It just now occurred to me - "Dude! Could that camera have had collector value here in the 21st century?" - which was stupid - because I no longer have it. DOH! Anyway., The point of my rather long comment is - can you find said Kodak camera info and would it have a sweet figure on it in today's collectible market?
I do have a Kodak camera but unfortunately it’s not worth anything. But some people have gotten instax film to work inside of them. I have been thinking about tinkering with it to see if I can get that work. Maybe a video in the future on it......
