Hippodrome Elite Chariot Racing Tips & Tricks - Assassin’s Creed Origins

- The reward for completing every elite Hippodrome challenge is the legendary Roman Warhorse, the fastest horse in the game! You can sell this horse for 1000 gold as well and complete the final set of races repeatedly.
1) You can draft other racers for a speed boost. Drafting also causes the boost to recharge faster! The boost bar will be blue when you are drafting and it is recharging faster than usual.
2) If in first on a straightaway, use the boost sparingly. Only use boost while in first to avoid taking bash damage
3) Passing on the inside at turns is the easiest way to pick up room and move up the ranks
4) If knocked off, let go of the gas entirely and start jamming X as fast as possible
5) Take the inside track as much as possible, even if that is not the most efficient racing line
6) Power sliding - It’s better to oversteer into the apex than go out wide. Take no damage if you hit that corner
7) Bashing and destroying opponents is a terrible way to win because you will take so much damage in the process. BUT there is an achievement for destroying an opponent. When they are outlined in white you can damage them.

Yes what the fuck? I cant hope to catch up once they pass me. Im not even doing elite, im drafting, boosting, and drifting perfectlt and they just pass me like its nothing.

@@benaube5946 Update: Through sheer fucking will I won that. I know that race specifically is bullshit because I went on to get 1st place on all 3 races in the final event.
How do I make horses go faster
When I corner I start turning in then hold the drift button, when im half way round the corner I let go of RT and repress it while still holding the drift button. This kinda whips your chariot round the corner. People behind get stuck/bump behind you and people on outside slow down on the outside lane. This is literally how I win every race.

Thanks for the tips. I decked out every single item in Bayek's Gear EXCEPT for the Mount. That purple amongst all the golds is driving me crazy. So glad every item can be obtained in-game and not just through lootboxes.
I spent waaaay too much time trying to beat this I even lowered my level to easy & still got my ass wiped in the last seconds of each match. I found another tip for those of you struggling, it sounds goofy but if you go into the block mode L1 for PS4 & drift you'll hug the corners a lot tighter but even with all of these tips online I still have yet to beat the last two levels. I just found out about the L1 tip in another forum which i'll have to adjust to but the drift boost isn't always consistent. I'm not saying the L1 tip is either but L1 isn't putting on the brakes where drifting is slowing you down even if you are using boost. Try it out, if it works for you great if not stick with what works. Good tips in this video

I want to thank you for your tips. It was taken way to long and I can't figure it out. Your video helped me out a great deal and I finally beat it thanks to you
When you are about to boost then turn hug the walls and when you are about to drift, make sure that the only thing between the corner and the track is you chariot. If you manage to do that you let chariot will jam all the other ones and they can’t get in front of you, giving you plenty of time to boost forward.
Late too the party but is it only me that thinks these races are the hardest thing on the game 😂

Just got this game for 30 bucks and made it to this mini game it seemed really hard(playing on highest diff btw) thought it was impossible till i found this vid. Thought it was bas to win of boost to win and I was wrong on both. All the tips given helped got elite races done. Thank you

Ok, but how do you pass someone? The npc chatipts are objectively faster than me and there doesnt appear to be any way to upgrade mine.
I'd like to add that if you are in 1st you can block your opponents from passing you while recharging boost. I like to get a full boost meter and then about 30 or 40% down the straight is when you hit the nos so that it runs out right before the turn. If you are side by side with someone at the turn or they are right behind you they will probably pass you bc even if you hit a perfect turn where the horses head clips into the wall but doesnt slow you down they will still somehow pass you. That is why saving the boost for the last half of the straight is better since they won't be close enough to pass.

all enemies so far away in your race . at me some crash me every time from back the boost is to much empty
My history teacher brought up this video and explained that in a game called assassins creed origins they had hippodromes and said it’s quite accurate to how they would’ve looked
so, don’t ram, don’t worry about fire, i feel like i’m drifting ok, but you can go from 1-6th just like that, i’ll give it another go
I expect a mission or some thing in hippdorome just like ben-hur but nothing :(
I care more about being victorious in the gladiator arenas

I was in 2nd, all of a sudden around the corner, it went slow motion like someone got fucked up, and I couldn’t move, so I ended up being last, and no one got fucked up
I finally did this and now I have the fastest horse
Not only is this side activity horribly made, in that it defies all logic, but it is also the by far most boring side activity i have ever seen in any game.
The controls are disgusting, the "ramming-system" doesn't properly work, apart from ramming, there's no fighting involved, no upgrades to the chariots, like blades on the axes.
You're directly behind an enemy, which should speed you up and on top of that on full boost, but some random guy overtakes you, with no one giving him wake, like you're standing still.
The Arena is awesome. Only wish there was a mode, where you can pick your own weapon, but this chariot horseshit... the one responsible for this, should be forced to play this, for the rest of his/her life while only being allowed to eat horseshit and the only way out is being trampeled to death by pink ponies.
Ffs the elite races are straight-up impossible
Just got done with them really not that hard. It's all about the corners. To pass someone go inside on the corner and drift into them. Always use the inside lane. To corner find your sweet spot and hit the joystick and the drift at the same time. Don't hold drift too long, if you need to turn more just tap the drift to finish the turn. Use the boost to get some distance before turning.
How do you get that camera angle?
Highly disagree with you, bashing an opponent that beat you in a previous race almost guarantees you'll win overall, also suggesting to only dash when someone is behind you is absolute BS, dash every time you have an inch of stamina, which requires timing of course but I gurantee with proper stamina management and cornering you will win 1st on elite

Guys to get the trophy "old habits" (complete all locations) do I have to complete all the hippodrome races ? The elite races too? It is the only trophy that I am missing :(

No you DEFINITELY want to bash your opponent. It slows them significantly. Just don't try bashing if the enemy chariot isn't highlighted otherwise you'll slow and can lose control of the chariot. His method might've worked out for him, don't get me wrong.
Does lowering the difficulty help winning the race ?
No, it’s horribly made and horrible glitched. Not much effort was actually put into making it function properly.
on elite you lost to fast life if some other crash you from back or something :-( and than game over
Go to easy strat: drift the corners as close to the wall as you can, use your speed boosts in the long stretches. Watch the enemies with r3 and go in front of them. If one is coming up your side try to go for a ram when drifting.
Also if you have a bad start you pretty much lose no matter what.
I am so hard to drift perfectly like you did. Any tips?

*UPDATE* new 1.20 update for AC Origins actually fixes the difficulty for hippodrome races. They’re actually listening to us! 😀

I'm not sure if they made it easier. but i started playing origins again. and I did all the race tournaments the first try. while a few months ago I couldn't even get past the second one..
This game mode is so frustrating. I'll be in 1st place and have a decent lead and then for some reason I'll be completely overtaken out of absolutely nowhere. It's like the NPCs have an extra boost that they can use at the very last second.
So ignore the others, dont ram them, just go past them? Sounds simple.
How do you turn into the corners so good? This is where I am losing my races.. I am trying to get this damn trophy!

I got the achievement on bashing/knock off on my first attempt. In my first race I knocked off three riders. I played on Xbox One. Couldn't understand how only 10% of Xbox One users got that. I'm not that good of a player when it comes to things like this. Anyway, I came here to see about time trials; and they're meaningless, so thanks.

This achievement is stupid and unfair it makes you start the race in the last position and gives you the slowest chariot i can't even finish in the top 3

This is some sort of cheat. After coming to this section of the game I will never play another AC game again. First and last for me. The other racers are not existent in this guy’s game. It’s a cheat or something. No excuse for this kind of garbage
