- www.nationalfisherman.com - Travis Otis of the First Team out of Searsport, Maine, keeps his cool in a close encounter with the 1,000-hp 4 Girls of Harpswell, skippered by Tom Clemons. The race winner was Whistlin' Dixie, which makes an appearance at the end of the video.
Is there any details to contact the owner of the Sisu powered boat, I’m building one of my own and would like some information on the engine setup.
The lobster boat races this day raised more than $6,000 for the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Participants donated their winnings and much more.
Makes one proud to be a waterman!
Riding the wake, works swimming too
Looks like fun, better than tractor races.
This was one of 27 races that day. It's unusual to have that many boats in one race, so the field was tighter than the racers are used to. I believe the 4 Girls held back, because it was not up front with the other 1,000-hp boats.
He didn't hold back, he was tryin like hell to catch me.
Awesome. Nice boats.
How fast were you going
Just this side of light speed.
About 38mph
If you can get 1,000 hp from a 410 Sisu with that little turbo, you are pretty good.
good race though travis.
410 Sisu has 410 hp on a good day. Turbo is only rated for 375 hp, btw. Good luck with doubling the hp with that tiny turbo
man why is everyone so close? seems to me thats when people get hurt??!!??!!
I'm sure this wouldn't be a thing if people weren't playing it safe. These are skilled helmsman that know their boats and conditions involved.
GOOD RACE PRETTY CLOSE
that is so bad ass. wow hjaha
OK, so it's a good cause but still dangerous. Shouldn't be pushing in each other's wake with civilians on board. Do timed runs it is much safer for everyone.
How immature to put all those people in that much danger to show off your diesels.
RIPopperman that much danger? clearly you dont fish
You obviously have never been out to sea on a real boat. One designed to go out in a hundred knot breeze and come home whole. Relax, they are fine. Stay off the cruise ships, they are designed to be upside down.
