If I were a younger man I would bring it back to San Francisco Bay, learn to sail and spend my days maintaining this classic yacht. But this brought me some pleasure this morning; thank
Robert, try being a younger man? Should Aeolus return to her original home? By coincidence, my occasional neighbour, Ken and Lesley Stanford, live in the Bay and are members of the Corinthian (CYC) in Tiburon. Do you know them? Lesley suggested shipping Aeolus back to the Bay and she will send my single page description of Aeolus to her club. Do you know of other clubs or groups or individuals in the Bay which would be interested in receiving the description? Any ideas on finding a possible buyer? Anthony
What a beautiful old girl ! I thank you for taking care of her. I'm sure she'll miss you also. I'm going to save this video just so I can enjoy her again . 🍻 from Canada
My hat off to you Sir, keeping traditional boat building and sailing alive. I’m sure there will be a tear in your eye when your yacht goes to a new owner. Hopefully someone who can fully appreciate the craftsmanship that went into building and maintaining her. I hope you find another craft to enjoy many more years sailing 👏👏
I remember watching her get rebuilt in Richmond California back in the 80s she sat in the old Sanford wood boat yard . I believe Jeff Rutherford may have had something to do with her restoration in the 80s
Jeff, thanks for responding. I would love to know more about the history of Aeolus before and after her rebuild. Are you in San Fransisco Bay area? jeff Rutherford has been mentioned as building a new bowsprit in early 2000s. Do you know anything about "Tony Carter, skipper of Aeolus prior to 1978 May be living on his tug boat Coast Pilot in Crescent City California or at Point Richmond" Great if you can help Anthony
I can add that her rebuild in the late 80s in Richmond CA was done by Eric Ashford. Eric worked by himself, full of energy, in his early 20s at the time. He replaced frames and planking with new material, very little remained of the original boat. Eric is the son of Curt Ashford who was well known in the Pacific as a wooden boat builder and sailor. I did see Tony Carter and his "Coast Pilot" in Bahia Tortuga about 2006(????), northbound as I recall. I've been out of the loop, so have no recent info about the whereabouts of either Eric or Tony.

@@myclassicboat9083 I shall let you know when I’m selling. Mine is only worth a fraction though of the asking price for the hat and boat in this video.
Absolutely right about it being 2022. A lot more condascending people ready to jump on someone to feel superior about themselves nowadays. Pointing out an error is one thing but to tack on a patronising remark at the end speaks more about you.

So loved the day out on this beautiful wooden classic . Thank you Anthony .

Such a beautiful old lady and still turning heads

Gorgeous vessel (lovely hat!)

Lovely boat to sail, nice to see Anthony in his bowler hat, I'm sure she'll find a great new owner soon.
Quet history it has this sailboat ⛵

The music sounds so epic, like a new planet is being formed.

Amazing video! Really good to see these kinds of boats still in use
Much respect to a man of my heart
What a nice man with the bowler hat
That is indeed a floating sailing work of art and piece of history
And so, so much canvas for such a tight package

What a beauty! Fir on Oak frames, I assume? Perhaps I should finish watching before I comment.
Amazing 👏 history 👏 ❤️
Cool boat
Very nice. I wish I would have the money to own such a beauty.
Beautiful boat, excellent video, great music!
Beautiful!
Thank's!
💪🙏🇧🇷
The owners are usually just as interesting as the boats.
I worked for Eric Ashford while he built this boat. He is a magnificent craftsman.
A William Fife design for a pilot boat.
if this is the same yacht we sailed in Seattle in 2010-11, it was spectacular.
Great hat and nice boat too. I hope you get a handsome commission when the hat and boat get sold.
What about when you sell yours?

Get a hat and the price will rocket
@@myclassicboat9083 Sound advice. I'll get a tin hat.
Looks like a special boat for man overbroad drills ! Where are the safety lines ??!!
Is it still for sale?
If you’re interested in buying, give the owner a call. I’m not sure if she’s still up for sale all best Bob
You need a deck gun to defend against pirates
More purely said..its a future boat for a young man perhaps..that or a young woman..remember who you are addressing...its 2022 not 1952
Canyon good to hear from you, thanks for posting. All best Bob
