Incredible piece, would love to see it in person for sure. Getting JND whitebeard tomorrow myself, super excited lol $3,500 is pricey and like ya said for what ya get its overpriced BUT if you're looking at JND, like ya said you know what you're getting. Not gonna be getting an incredible base or effects and such but to have the BEST 1/3 of this character for the next decade at least, I think it's worth tbh. Plus that'd really what JND strives to do is just be the BEST representation of a character in 1/3.
Thanks for zooming in on the skin. The freckles or whatever they are doing with the skin is amazing. For the Predator stuff, they don’t need that kind of subtle details, but everyone can compare it to Gal Gadot picture. So, I think that is what you are paying for - that next level of realism.
Congrats, Sean! It's an incredible piece. I also love mine and think it's their best release so far. The hand does come out. it has a key with latches. It can be removed and inserted back. nothing to worry about.
When I first got mine out, that hand you said had a problem just fell to the ground when I was trying to put in the swoard. There are two pegs that go into that area. I think it was designed like this so you don't over stress the hand when putting the sword on, and you can even remove the knuckles/fingers if needed.
JND is overrated in my opinion. Joker Ledger 1/3 has Frog face. Harley Quinn big innacurate teeth. Catwoman big lips. They have done a lot of mistake in the past. But this Wonder Woman is wonderful ! Nerly perfect. Does it worth the price? It's very hard to say. By the way a lot of person can afford this.
The details and head sculpt are miles superior to the P1S WW on horseback though! P1S only win on presence and the theatrical concept. Putting it up high of the WW horseback while JND at eye level would be good arragement?
Yeah.. it was the right decision to go with this version. I do agree that their previous version (that is WW84) have a great likeness (to Gal Gadot) too ..but that costume doesn't scream classic (OG) Wonder Woman and it comes from a bad movie too (also having that goIden suit for me it looks rather like a Gal Gadot showcase in a shiny costume and less about the WONDER WOMAN character). At least this other version (that you got now) is with the classic WW costume (red and blue costume) and also comes from a way better movie (the first WW movie they made). 😀 Edit: Or if it is BvS related ..the BvS Ultimate Edition is also a way better movie than WW84 😄
Yeah I don’t know how he was able to pay for more shipping because every time I preorder something from spec fiction they never offer me a quick shipping.🤷🏻♂️ I’m very sure that mine will be arriving from spec fiction in two more months lol😅
These newer high end statues with rooted hair look more true to life, but honestly, they are just glorified Barbie dolls if you really look at that hair feature. Barbie dolls already had rooted hair back in the 1970's. And, even worse to consider is what will happen to all of these statues if plastic does what plastic often does...become brittle, disintegrate, or turn to sticky goo. Bald female statues would loose most of their dollar value and have zero display value...unless collectors are going to start taking classes in hair-rooting for dolls. Hey, maybe Mattel Toys offers classes for Barbie fans!
To all the people who say, "This is not worth $3500", Everyone has their own values for what aspects they appreciate more in a statue and what less. Everyone makes their own decisions on why and what they would spend their money. There's a lot of engineering, skills, technical knowledge, and technological prowess that goes into making something this detailed and intricate. Prime 1, Queen Studios, infinity Studio, and any other big names, cannot compare when it comes to micro detailing and production quality. JND are at the absolute top when it comes to that. And this commands higher prices. Obviously, they are not for everyone, only for those who can discern those differences and care enough to pay for them.
@zx45zx This wonder woman is going to retain and even increase its value. I paid $4400 for mine, and I still think it's hella worth it. She isn't going anywhere. If I could get her at 3500 like Sean, I'd be over the moon. Unfortunately, shipping and tax at my country are very high, so it's not a reality for me.
@@erangilo392 Increase in value beyond $4400 over the next 5 years? what if j&d make 3 more WWs, a half scale WW84, and then sell a reissue of this piece with a better base and accent piece? This sold out. They will make more. the companies make these to sell, they do not care about collector's investment value.
@@zx45zx Also, regarding JND being in it for the money, In my honest opinion, they are not really in it for the money. Let me explain, In my opinion, if all they cared about was money, you would never see many of those terrible business decisions they have made over the past few years of their existence. They established they don't give a fuck about what sells well. They produce stuff because that's what they want to work on. Their first ever piece was an Arthur Fleck for fucks sake.. who in their right mind makes a $2000 Arthur Fleck statue as their first entry?? No body wants Arthur Fleck it's not a money maker.. everyone wanted that Joker at the time. Same for Basquiat... who the fuck wants a Basquiat statue? Most people never even heard his name or care for his art.. Same for Old Boy.. very obscure Korean film, it's a good film don't get me wrong but it's not that well known.. it doesn't have a huge fan base with deep pockets.. why make a statue of him? Same for Arwen as their first in the LotR line... who the fuck wants Arwen? People want Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, Frodo, Sauron, even Golum way before Arwen.. these are characters with far more selling power. I really don't think JND are in it for the money. At least they haven't been this past year.
The eyebrows are sculpted. If they made 3,500,000 on this I'm curious what their profit margin is on just one statue after all the overhead has been paid. Definitely puts that P1 piece to shame.
This is absolutely not worth $3500. Basic base. Basic museum pose. No swap outs. Good lord, when did we start accepting a $3500 price tag for something like this?
Always enjoy your reviews and was really looking forward to this one. I have mine coming from SpecFiction soon too. They are always great to deal with. Do you have any concerns about posing her with the shield over time? Do you feel like the lighter weight shield shouldn't cause any unnecessary pull/damange on the silicone arm? I like her posed better with the shield too, but would hate to find out that, over time, it caused any kind of damage to the arm. Since you own four of the JND statues...thought you'd have thoughts on that, based on your experience. Again....thanks for the awesome review! 😎
Hello Sean. I sold my Prime 1 Studios Sonya on Ebay recently. It was damaged during shipping though UPS during the holiday season. You can tell by the box being dented and black floor truck stains on the sides that do not say this side up. The customer requested a return from Ebay for damage. I had to send free return shipping labels for a not free $300 to the customer. UPS denied the claim yesterday and Ebay says I need to refund the guy $2000 plus I eat the $300 for the return labels. Been a total nightmare for 2 weeks. EBay and UPS trying to get out of the damage and screwing me the seller. Am I going to get back a busted-up Sonya and have to pay the customer $2300. I am sick over this. You ever have to deal with this?
Do I not pay the refund and just shut down my Ebay down after 12 years of being a Gold statis seller? What is really weird to me is that I use Ebay to print all the labels. I always get the insurance. They actually pay the UPS bill and then say they have nothing to do with the shipping. I don't even have a UPS account. It is an Ebay account. You think I just call UPS for the 10th time and beg them to cover the damage? You must have experience with this kinda thing. This is my first damage on Ebay.
It's worth it in the sense that you can at least get your money back or more when reselling. Probably way more in a year or two. In terms of what you get for the money, obviously the price is ridiculous. But this is a much smarter "investment" than some other pieces
I was wondering about touching the silicon with bare hands I thought no but saw you touching the Kong bust lip a lot of with bare hands. Its a nice piece btw the costume really pops

3500! Next thing you know people will be shelling out 4k for these. Crazy.
They will make half scales and charge 6K+, or get licensing for scarlet witch and black widow and just throw darts at prices on the wall.
For museum quality, it might be worth it…. The details and craftsmanship are amazing.
One word: beautiful! 😄

Which part is the silicone and why not touch with hands?
Your hands are greasy can leave grease marks
Best wear gloves if touching the silicon which on here is every skin part

Not 3,500 hundred bucks worth
Only ECC and p1 predators 1/3s are really worth that. And some p1 like ww on horse
