yeah fr i listen to it every day, his creativity in the acoustic guitar riffs and melodies is honestly amazing and it’s inspiring how much he has progressed especially being self taught for only a few years!
The underlying meanings of the songs adds so much to them aswell. Go google them if you want to know the meaning of the lyrics

The bit where wilbur said that he practiced 10 hours or day or whatever the number was, that part gave me goosebumps and made me motivated to go pick up my dusty guitar which hadn't been used in like 5 months. Also the tip about ultimate guitar was really good i think i've learned like 10 songs this month from that website, really useful.

Never been this early... Also Wilbur inspired me to really pick my guitar up and learn more. Riffs, Bar chords, Picking patterns, the works. It's been difficult but I learned jubilee line by Wilbur and, I'd say it's been working out quite well :D
Additionally been playing guitar enough each night to make my fingers cut and bruise, I defiantly have a healthy relationship with my guitar!
Never thought I'd say that a minecraft role player was my inspiration for music...
Congrats! My parents had me learning guitar when I was 6 but I kinda dropped it. I think I might try again though!
@@_blue_bear_ Honestly I'd say it's worth it, fantastic stress reliever... and don't let your parent make you play guitar, let yourself make that decision it makes all the difference for enjoyment :)

The fact that Wilbur isn't someone who has been playing music since he was a kid, yet is really good, is honestly super inspiring for me, since I sometimes worry about how good I can possibly be at any instrument when I didn't master any of them as a kid.

Damn, I thought Wil had been playing for so much longer. His music is literally amazing and it's so inspiring to know that he taught the guitar to himself. I guess it's true that practice pays off.

I’ve just come here to say, Wilbur’s right! Learning guitar isn’t as scary as it sounds, to me it’s actually addictive. I just started a month an a half ago, and Wilbur was a huge inspiration to me getting started. At first it was kinda intimidating, but once you start learning songs, you can get lost in it for hours. But just a tip: don’t rush, go at your own pace, quality over quantity :D

Wow. Just wanted to say that my dad has been playing guitar for like 20 years now, and ofc when i was born my dad tried to teach me guitar, so i literally had my own guitar since i was like 5, but i never really played it or was interested in playing it. i mean i kinda know the basics and how it all works but through all these years i never really learned it. rn im far away from my dad, but i have never in my entire life wanted to learn guitar that much, so i guess this would be the first thing im gonna do when i see him. thank you:)

When I tell you this man is so inspirational because anyone could just pick up a guitar and learn and Wilbur now has shows being sold out and going on tour it’s insane
Me and my friend are gonna start learning guitar, (she's already started but I don't have one yet, my other friend said I could borrow hers for a while to see if I wanted to go through with it or not.)

hey joe. i like your interviews, but i have some constructive criticism. I think your interview clips should be on a separate channel. By having both the full interview and the clips in the same spot is damaging to whole channel engagement. if you have one video that's 10 minutes and has 50% engagement right next to a 2 hour interview with less engagement it's less likely that RUclips will recommend your vids. i think you should have a seperate clip channel, but thats just my opinion lol

listening to this interview made me realise that I taught myself guitar the same way Will taught himself, and even in the same situations (motivation because of ex, pandemic, UG).
Started playing in february 2021, now able to play almost every single one of his and Lovejoy's albums.
I bought a guitar and its been sitting there for a month, now I'm on it everyday just because of Wilbur.

Legit gaint step in my guitar skill after watching this video, I didn't know about tabs or any of that. And now I'm somewhat less miserable
I played the violin in 4th grade and still kinda play it along with the viola and I started playing the cello in 5th grade, I can play the recorder, I’m learning piano and I’m learning guitar so this actually kinda helped expand my knowledge and skill. Now I know how I should learn how to play guitar lol cuz the thing I have now is no help

Legit after listening Internet Ruined Me for the 100th time, (the 29th of September, based on Spotify) alongside listening to City Gave Me Asthma WHICH IS AMAZING, I get what Wilbur said, but legit it's helped through so much and I legit just picked up a ukulele and went, "Aight, I'm going to LEARN this song, I love ukulele." I did really mess up a lot, Saline Solution and Heather was hard. And a few weeks ago, I sat in my room, for legit, close to 10 hours, and learned Your New Boyfriend by 3am because my sister let me stay up since my parents went out for 2 days to go to a city closeby. Not even going to lie, Wilbur's music has legit helped me a lot lmao, his comedic music is funny and makes me laugh and smile, whilst Your City Gave Me Asthma, no cap, helped me find out more about myself.

idk if youre still in need of this or not, but ukutabs (i think - it also has an option for guitar chords when you click on a song) is great. Just look up your favourite artist/band and then itll being up a list and have a little colour code to show how hard/easy a thing is. But tbh just find a song you really like and try to learn the chords. Take out any hard ones until youve nailed the easier ones then add in the harder ones. hope that was helpful lol and if not to you then to someone else? anyways happy learning!
