Fully remember that race...back in the time when completely random parts still use to break on the cars Now is just power unit issue pretty much...this reliability is incredible from the technical point of view, a bit less from the fun side
Absolutely *no class* from Massa celebrating like that in front of an unlucky Kimi. Compare that with Lewis who didn't even celebrate when Bottas got a puncture in Baku.
Beatiful cars and sound, kimi in 2008 was very unlucky, (France , canadian, belgian, great britain) in this couple of race kimi lose the possibilty to win the Championship and the leadership in Ferrari
Daris Testori Sounds were meh compared to the V10s and the cars were some of the ugliest ever in 2007-2008 with all the bits and bobs sticking out everywhere.
єzαу And fortunately their 2009 car turned out to be "fantastic". I remember being dissapointed about Kubica ending up 4th in the standings just a few points shy of 3rd.
It wouldnt be Kimi if something didnt break during race... He's one of the unluckiest drivers in F1! He's an exellent driver, but very unlucky! Even these days... And still, he bacame F1 champion in 2007!
even he had not a lot of luck the firs mid season on 2007 but luck gave him back with the two races were hamilton failed. But that was not luck only, were hamilton fails
but remember that he also lost points on spain and gp europe because car failtures. Luck made balance on the end and because was the end looked that he was lucky but during the season he deserved the title. Other pilots like massa, Alonso, Hamiliton lost points not because they had bad luck more like becuase theyr mistakes.
In 2008, Raikkonen was on course for victory in Silverstone, France, Canada, and possibly Fuji that year if not for errors by other drivers and his own team. Don't forget the Spa race and the drive-through penalty in Monaco 2008 because of his team's error. That is an extra 25-40 points that he could have had easily considering his finishing places in those races. His race pace was mega at Ferrari. It was quali that was the issue. Anyways show Kimi France 2005/2007 performance.
Ciaron Smith How was the Spa and Monaco races his teams' error ? He fucked it up completely by himself there, in Spa he pushed too hard and lost the car two laps before the race was finished, same in Singapore where he pushed too hard as well and lost the car again, in Monaco it was again his own driving error when he lost the car and shunted into Sutil ! So don't always blame Ferrari, you're right to blame them for Australia and Silverstone GP, but don't forget that Raikkonen's performance in many races was not even close to Massa's and Hamilton's performance !
Neither were his fault imo. At Spa, they should have pitted Kimi one lap earlier as Kimi asked. They decided to pit him the lap his car crashed due to 0 temps in the tyres which was a weakness of that Ferrari car. Look at Alonso's team they called it right. Monaco? He had a drive through penalty man. Yes he crashed, but only because the team fucked up something operational at the start which meant Kimi had to come through traffic, in the wet, in Monaco. Watch that race again.
Ciaron Smith Dude, you're obviously just tyring to find excuses why Raikkonen's performances were not on merit in 2008, open your eyes please ! In Spa he crashed because he pushed too hard with the wrong tyres in the wrong conditions, Kubica, Kovalainen, Bourdais and Sutil had exactly the same problem as Raikkonen, they all had the wrong tyres but Spa is an extremely large circuit so that it's possible that it can rain in different areas of the track like it was two laps before the end of the race, now did anyone of them crash besides Raikkonen ? No, so Raikkonen's own driving error ! In Singapore he pushed too hard again and crashed into the wall, his own driving error ! And your "excuse" for Monaco is just utter ridiculous, he just lost his rear and shunted into Sutil, completely down to himself !
Nah I am spewing facts here. Spa is hardly anything to be ashamed of. Pretty sure a team fucking up the FIA rules and getting you a drive through for no reason is absurd. You are debating Spa with me but you can't seem to understand almost all of the incidents were through team strategy error or unreliability or another dumbass driver hitting him. Kimi is a legend.
Kimi should have been the 2003 and 2005 WDC if not for his McLaren constantly breaking down. He was F1's best driver from 2033-2007. Without a shadow of a doubt.
This! This is the track the French Grand Prix should be held on. Not this boring Paul Ricard Circuit with plenty of run-off areas all over the place, ughhh...
єzαу if you think Paul Ricard is boring, you clearly haven't seen any of the races from magny cours. It was impossible for them to follow and overtake then, imagine it with the new cars. The races were always just a procession. Although tbf, Paul Ricard as a track isn't any better, but it could give some good racing
єzαу Lol Magny Cours is one of the worst circuits ever in F1. Boring races and a very bad layout for racing. Everyone hated on this circuit last they ran there.
Rottensteam Hamilton says he prefered Magny-Cours to Paul Ricard, and I quite enjoyed driving it on the old F1 games, though I would agree that Paul Ricard looks like a much better circuit for passing, with open and following sequences of corners and straights.
F1 you made a mistake in your video. Alan Prost won the 1993 French grand prix. Ayrton Senna never won the French Grand Prix. The last Brazilian to win the French Grand Prix was Nelson Piquet in 1985 at the Paul Ricard Full Circuit. He did not win at Magny Cours.
Excuse me, but the 1993 French Grand Prix was won by Alain Prost, with his Williams team mate Damon Hill in 2nd, 3rd was Michael Schumacher.. Senna finished P4 in that race..
@libertymedia , this is what we want the cars too look and sound like , no stupid halo , no shitty engines , no drs , fun races , no tyre and fuel saving...
So many people saying we should race there instead. Please guys, find the full French 2008 GP, watch it, and then come back talking about how much fun the race was and how much better F1 was back then.
When was the last time Kimi was not unlucky? The one time he got lucky was in 2007 but that's not enough for someone who has lost 2 championships by one point due to bad luck.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is gonna be running 3 Honda Civic's with spoon engines. On top of that he just came into Harry's and ordered 3 t66 turbo's with NOS's and a Motec System Exhaust.
They need to reinforce the air intakes on those cars. It's what brought down the power for Kimi when the flailing exhaust punched a hole in it. In hindsight, I'm quite surprised the carbon fiber fragments didn't mess up the engine.
Really really love the terrible music drowning out the spectacular sound of the beautiful cars! I can't think why!!! Surprised you haven't blurred the cars out too to be honest.
this was the last ferrari 1-2 before 2017 monaco gp last year where kimi also got the short end of the stick starting from pole but Vettel got preferential treatment and kimi finished 2nd. France doesn't love kimi isn't it?!
Along with Spa and Montreal, one of the few races where he should have got the winand dare i say this was a real start of his downfall in form during the latter half of 2008 season...
Just another day in the life of Kimi Räikkönen.
just another day of not winning
because of bad luck
Exactly my thoughts! Does everything right and it still goes wrong
TheF1Gamer true that
Leclerc is having the same career like him
Fully remember that race...back in the time when completely random parts still use to break on the cars

CrazyAboutCars 84 No.
I remember seeing aero shapes that no one could imagine. Especially McLaren.
ya no i mean sometimes getting an odd weird failure is more fun than just the regular locked gearbox or the average engine issue, you get what i mean?
That 2008 Ferrari Car was so so beautiful
Beautiful? LOL the best looking F1 cars is 1998 to 2004.
2005 cars were very pretty too. The R25 was pretty nice looking !
WeBreatheRacing The 2008 cars were actually some of the ugliest in recent years
No way, the shape of that front wing looks disgusting and so does that stupid bar code on the rear wing.
WeBreatheRacing agree, F2008 is gorgeous 😍
Nice pun in the title LOL
" exhausting " race.
" I like your sense of humor " - ALO
Back when Raikkonen was the best and the unluckiest driver on the grid!
Magny Cours, V8, nice cars, Massa on top...good period 😍😍
P R agree.
Absolutely *no class* from Massa celebrating like that in front of an unlucky Kimi.
Compare that with Lewis who didn't even celebrate when Bottas got a puncture in Baku.
It was a boring track and the v8 was terrible, it was not a beautiful period in f1.
Cletus Spuckler no class when Kimi won the title a year before when Felipe gave him the 1st place
And very low overtaking.
Goddamn Puns.
Kimi could have won the championship if it wasn't for his mistake in Spa and Singapore. But there were so many "ifs" in the 2008 season.. :)
So did Robert because of BMW's dumb idea of working on their next car midout through the season.
єzαу And fortunately their 2009 car turned out to be "fantastic". I remember being dissapointed about Kubica ending up 4th in the standings just a few points shy of 3rd.
When hasn't Kimi had back luck?

Basically he was unlucky for most of his career except for 2007
Now is not in shape any more. But on his prime he deserved at least 3 ch
Räikkönen won 2007 championship with just 1 point above Hamilton atleast there he was lucky
but remember that he also lost points on spain and gp europe because car failtures. Luck made balance on the end and because was the end looked that he was lucky but during the season he deserved the title. The usual luck of Raikkonen
Ten years since the last French GP! WOW
PolarBear - Minecraft 28 yrs since Paul Ridard mate. But it'll be a dull race
*Ricard
Look at those beautiful cars!
yes no HALO and my GOD the way they sound!
Beautiful my ass
I understand why they have to put the halo on, but that sound is just so much better than the v6s we have now
Best looking F1 cars are 1998 to 2004.

Is too tight
A horrible track. Boring.
They brought it back but just took it to Florida. Miami Cours.
And who ended up 3rd.... Jarno Trulli in a Toyota.
Corné-ZW1993 He was a good driver
He missed an opportunity to get a good spot in the title IF he never left renault in 2004
Briatore made him to leave
Especially in *2008*
@@NHanced44 sabotaged him no doubt

Felipe Massa won the last French Grand Prix 😍
Louis Sutton how did u figure that out😒
Oliver Shut up you shoe
lol
Spoiler alert
Felipe Baby 😍
Just hope that he is lucky this time and wins after such a long time.
I vaguely remember this and other moments from the 2008 championship, I was six at the time and I’ve been watching f1 ever since
Love both of them.Great drivers in their primes.
Just look at this damage. Magnificent that Kimi could take it to the end!
EXHAUSTING race for Raikkonen. Nice pun.
Senna never won at the French GP. The last Brazilian to won was Nelson Piquet at 1985.
For some bizarre reason they are considering Monaco France. And they said "in France" not French GP.
I was a kid back then, for some reason I remember that race very well.. 12 years old at the time
Kimi should have been the 2003 and 2005 WDC if not for his McLaren constantly breaking down. He was F1's best driver from 2033-2007. Without a shadow of a doubt.
Beatiful cars and beatiful sound
Kimi's career sum-up in one race.
Golden age of Kimi
The 2008 cars were so beautiful :)
"Bwoah, it's ok" -Kimi to himself
The 2007 race was pretty awesome where Kimi started third and used a loophole in the rules to win the race
Perfect song in the background! 👌
That was the beginning of the end for Raikkonen that year
Damn. Raikkonen needed that win.

Magny Cours literally has no straights it would be worse for racing than this one is. Your nostalgia is blinding you, mate
Rottensteam Hamilton says he prefered Magny-Cours to Paul Ricard, and I quite enjoyed driving it on the old F1 games, though I would agree that Paul Ricard looks like a much better circuit for passing, with open and following sequences of corners and straights.
єzαу magny cours is great for drive, but it hasnt many straights to pass, anyway i prefer magny cours instead of the new swimming pool
The last French GP in Magny Cours in 2008 and we saw another last French GP in Le Castellet in 2022
What a beautiful Ferrari!
Those cars were so fun to watch!
Excuse me, but the 1993 French Grand Prix was won by Alain Prost, with his Williams team mate Damon Hill in 2nd, 3rd was Michael Schumacher.. Senna finished P4 in that race..

God that Ferrari livery was beautiful.
Thank God the Halo - oh, wait...
thank god for the halo- wait a second.
When do we get longer videos? Like 10 minutes review, or 30 minutes highlights? Full races would be nice.
Magnycours Is a very beautiful circuito 😊👍👌
You forgot Jarno Trulli 3rd with Toyota !!
So many people saying we should race there instead. Please guys, find the full French 2008 GP, watch it, and then come back talking about how much fun the race was and how much better F1 was back then.
Hope this French GP this year will be great :)
I'm amazed that they allowed that picture to be made!?! (Exhaust)
Thats actually good that he dont retire
An exhausting season for Kimi in 2008, so bad luck.
1:07 Aryton Senna never won in France, the last Brazilian winner in France was Nelson Piquet in 1985
Sound😩😩❤️❤️❤️
Go on Kimi !
These cars were beautiful, had a good sound and were a pleasure to watch. Unlike the actual cars.
Felipe is looking beautiful 😍😍😍 I wish he would be in red suit and the year would be again 2008

They need to reinforce the air intakes on those cars. It's what brought down the power for Kimi when the flailing exhaust punched a hole in it. In hindsight, I'm quite surprised the carbon fiber fragments didn't mess up the engine.
Otra de las cosas extrañas que le sucedieron a Kimi ese año.
Didn't Jarno Trulli finish 3rd for Toyota in this race, beating Alonso's Renault among others? That was where the real action was.
i miss Magny Cours and those car designs
Really really love the terrible music drowning out the spectacular sound of the beautiful cars! I can't think why!!! Surprised you haven't blurred the cars out too to be honest.
Hope Raikkonen win this year🏆
GRANDE FELIPE
kimmi forever from indonesia
And it was the last lap F1 Grand Prix at Magny-Cours
still wondered why they didn't flagged him. thats a scary piece to fall off.
What about the virtual lap in Paul Richard
Upload schumachers pole lap from 1997 !
Kimi : "I lost my exhaust,I think u saw it"
An EXHAUSTing race for Kimi
Music!!! Give me the music! Why Formula1 is doing so beautiful music, but we can`t find it anywhere? Very frustrating :((
Poor Kimi his Ferrari has shat on him since he joined the team really.
Ferrari always shit on their drivers
Sure seems that way but Kimi is a champion and he didn't get that title driving a McLaren or Lotus.
Cough cough Vettel's third paddle
yeah that montezemolo guy tried to dump him for alonso and santander since the beginning of 2007....
Ferrari messing with Kimi since Jean Todt no longer a Team Principal on Ferrari. He's the man who took Kimi from McLaren to replace Schumi at 2007.
Kimi, where's the fire God dammit. Now you're just hanging on. Where's the passion? Where's the zeal? Where's the vigour?
'EXHAUSTING'..🤔 Oh... Now i get it!
Gloves and exhaust.
Gloves and exhaust.
Hey !!
Come on !
Gloves and exhaust
😁
this was the last ferrari 1-2 before 2017 monaco gp last year where kimi also got the short end of the stick starting from pole but Vettel got preferential treatment and kimi finished 2nd. France doesn't love kimi isn't it?!
Senna didn't won a France GP. The only brazilian victory em France until them was in 1985 with Nelson Piquet in a Brabham-BMW and Pirelli tyres.
Poor kimi, I want to see him win again sooo bad
"Exhaust! Exhaust, gloves and Exhaust! yeah! Gim Exhaust!
Hey!! Hey!! Exhaust, somebody tell him to give it to me! COME ON! MOVE!"
massa👏💪🇧🇷❤
On veut le retour de la F1 à Magny cours, ras la casquette du Castellet et des grands prix oseille
Almost here...⏳
Senna never won the French GP
on the thumbnail the exhaust looks like a flying bird xD
Maybe Räikkönen can win next weekend and do the same that Ric did in monaco
I miss Felipe ♥
Along with Spa and Montreal, one of the few races where he should have got the winand dare i say this was a real start of his downfall in form during the latter half of 2008 season...
Kimi
Very rare incident..
Annoying music ;( But we expect a really exciting race.
Old video but senna never actually won in france and 1993 was won by Alain Prost who dominated that weekend with Damon hill
The new track looks like a test track
Kimi is king! 🤴
What are the tyres this weekend ?
that pun...
